Oooh, I like the look of the VIP package. Do you think they provide Lee to give you some, ahem, personal services?
Seriously though, I'll probably be in line queueing for a Magnum (served by Kanga).

Well, I'll you know whether it was worth shelling out for afterwards. Dh got the joseph dvd for our dd - the one with donnie osmond - so we've watched that today. He also got her jesus christ superstar which was a bit horriific to watch (she's only 5!)

I really, really, really am getting excited about going now. Dh thinks it very sad!!

Am looking forward to seeing Lee's costumes too and how he fills the loincloth ....

LyraB · 07/07/2007 17:41

I'm so .
That reminds me to dust off my copy of Jesus Christ Superstar. I saw that in the west end ages ago and it was brilliant.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 17:48

yeh, I think I'd enjoy it on stage but the dvd was a bit graphic for a little one. She loves Joseph though, she's a little groupie!! She also has given in and accepts Lee is quite a good Joseph after seeing him in Diana Concert - until that it was Keith and only Keith for her...

Anyway, if you like, when I get my programme I'll try and scan it and post on my profile (think you can do that ?, will get dh to investigate technicalities of it.

LyraB · 07/07/2007 18:13

That would be great.
I'm off to Digital Spy to see if anyone's done a review yet...

OP posts:
LyraB · 07/07/2007 18:26

Review of the first night of Joseph here
This is gonna make you so sick, she actually went to Lee's dressing room after the show and spent 15 minutes chatting and taking photos.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 18:34

Well that was certainly unbiased! LOL at his spotty back anh chunky thighs...

Who is the BK she's referring to? Must have missed that.

Want to see the photos now, to be sure she not just in league with Kanga (OR IS KANGA!!!)

binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 18:39

Oh right, seen the photo now. I think what she says is right, he has an awful lot of stage presence but not that much charisma in real life, but perhaps he's just quiet and will come out of his shell a bit...

....remembering his cringeworthy 'seduction' technique with DVO

LyraB · 07/07/2007 18:42

There are a few more photos further down.
BK is Bill Kenright.
Still very . I must remember to catch the scarf, then I, too, can return it.

They may have got wise to it by then Lyra

Not sure about the stair lift and the 'in the air' bits.. that should be interesting!

oggsfrog · 07/07/2007 19:46

Ooh, chunky thighs make me go weak at the knees [swoon]

Not the most flattering photos, but am very [green] that she got to meet him. I'm so glad it went well, and am so looking forward to going in August.

Lyra thanks for the info. I need to speak to my Dad and see what he thinks. He has a taxi firm and does make trips into London, but I think he was there a couple of nights ago and something seems to have made him wary. I'll have to ask him what problems he foresees and take it from there.

oggsfrog · 07/07/2007 19:49

[green] should have been ,

oggsfrog · 07/07/2007 20:59

Binkle, "cringeworthy seduction technique with DVO"??????
He got the giggles. That's not cringeworthy, it's endearing

Oh, I'm of your snog with Rob Beck. I used to fancy him as Peter in Brookside.

Right. What is acceptable clothing for theatre going?
Bearing in mind it will have to compliment the climbing boots and crampons I'll be needing to get to my seat
I don't do heels of any description, and only own one pair of shoes and they are Dr Marten Mary Janes.
I will be sporting scabby, midge bitten legs so trousers or very long skirt/dress will be necessary.
Are jeans a no no?
I won't be doing the champers and canape thing, and will not be venturing into the bar.

binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 21:14

Jeans are fine, what about with some nice comfy flat ballet pump type deal ? Comfort important, you dont want any wardrobe issues distracting you from lapping up lee at every opportunity now do you?

Also though Keith needed to brush up seduction technique - he nearly took her head off with that champagne cork!!

binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 21:14

Oh and Rob Beck was very nice. Big blue eyes as I recall..

LyraB · 07/07/2007 21:14

No venturing to the bar? Whyever not?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 07/07/2007 21:23

Lyra, because;

  1. I'll have my 705? year old Mum and my 7 year old dd with me
  2. If I have a drink I'll need a wee and there are usually about 2 toilets per 5,000 people.
  3. If I have a drink I might lose my footing on the precipice that is my seating area and plummet 4 miles to the stalls and miss the second half...
  4. I don't want to have to take out a mortgage for one G&T
  5. I don't want to spend the whole interval queueing for said bank busting G&T .... erm, I'm sure there are more reasons. I'll get back to you Did consider taking a hipflask though, so I could indulge whilst remaining in my seat

Ballet pumps are soooo not me. I think I'll stick with my DMs

Berrie · 07/07/2007 21:24

Ooo thanks for that Lyra. I'm off to London tomorrow to see my friend. Will not be Lee spotting I don't think But if I hear any goss will, of course, let you know. Am going to ask about that woman getting to Lee like that, seems odd to me!

oggsfrog · 07/07/2007 21:27

Ha ha ha. Just got the giggles then re-reading that ,tears actually running down face.(I blame the vodka)
Picturing my Mum as a sort of Face of Bo thingy, or a "Dr Who as Dobby" type thingy.
75ish, not 705ish

Berrie · 07/07/2007 21:30

Poor Ogg Mum

binkleandflip · 07/07/2007 21:32

Hmm, I did wonder about ballet pumps when you mentioned Docs!!

oggsfrog · 08/07/2007 09:36

Hope you have a lovely day with your friend Berrie.

BoingBoing · 08/07/2007 14:35

Hey Berrie, only 2 days late, but it was headache inducing South African muck from Co-Op not South American, and not chardonnay either (can't stand it!). But it looks like you all had a bit of a party here on Friday night - for some reason I had a quiet, early night.....
And have you noticed, the sun's shining? Hurrah!!!!

LyraB · 08/07/2007 14:47

A sunny day at last! we've just had a barbecue and now we're all pottering, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing. V nice.

Would any of you pay money for someone to copy the whole series of ADWD for you?

I've been offered this by someone on another forum. he says he can do it for 15 quid. Do you think it's worth it?

I'm wondering when I'll get the chance to watch it all again, but it would be nice to have.

binkleandflip · 08/07/2007 19:36

Yes, for £15 definitely. Bargain actually
