Am I the only one to find it a tad ironic to see the very middle-aged Mssrs le Bon & Taylor jumping around singing "Wild Boys"...

Its not really 'a bit young' for the old fogey royals. Most of the performers have been over 50.

dyzzidi · 01/07/2007 22:05

I just mean the impression given to the rest of the world may be that The Princes are not supported IYKWIM

ll, i really really love song for guy

in a kind of dumdi dum understated kind of way

LucyLamb · 01/07/2007 22:06

If Diana was alive I doubt she would have invited Charles and the Queen to her b;day party though ?

Tutter · 01/07/2007 22:06

aND rocket man hard to beat

am still cringing from gervais dance/song debacle

aimeesmummy · 01/07/2007 22:06

How did people buy tickets for this?

MrsFish · 01/07/2007 22:07

I love Rocket Man!

LyraB · 01/07/2007 22:07

I wanna hear Rocket Man.

tigerschick · 01/07/2007 22:07

I know where you are coming from, dyzzidi, but still think that it would not be appropriate for them to be there.

Think Elton is one hell of a performer. Just a bit worried that it might become a bit of a 'set' as opposed to a contribution like everyone else...

Hulababy · 01/07/2007 22:07

There was/is a website set up for the concert and for getting tickets. Were also available through Ticketmaster I think. £45 for a standard ticket.

MrsFish · 01/07/2007 22:07

aimeesmummy here

you're right they shouldn't/wouldn't have been invited. I just wondered what we thought they might be doing tonight - still deadheading roses in the organic garden... walking the corgis or watching on tv!

Hulababy · 01/07/2007 22:08

I agree. I don't think it would have been appropriate for the other older royals to be there. I am sure it was discussed.

expatinscotland · 01/07/2007 22:09

Might have been a security issue, tbh.

Just enjoying Elton.

He REALLY is a brilliant performer.

tigerschick · 01/07/2007 22:09

Like to think they might be watching on tv - or listening on Radio 2 ... with Chris Evans!

slinkee · 01/07/2007 22:09

I reckon the queen is watching on tv

dyzzidi · 01/07/2007 22:09

Yes but there are more royals than Charles and the Queen. I mean Prince andrew. Edward & Sophie. Princess Anne and the likes. I just think it would have shown the world the family is behind William and Harry.

We hear lots of news about them in this Country but i bet Americans, Australians etc will be a bit baffled by absence of any Senior royals IYKWIM

RTKangaMummy · 01/07/2007 22:10

iirc ALL of the cousins are there

ie all the grandchildren

LucyLamb · 01/07/2007 22:11

iirc none of that lot had much time for Diana after the divorce ! I absolutely don't think they should be there !

dyzzidi · 01/07/2007 22:11

I know the cousins are there but outside of UK do you think general public elsewhere will know who the cousins are.

Sorry I have had a couple of wines and am probably not expressing myself correctly.

Tutter · 01/07/2007 22:12

help settle adiscussion re elton's lair

did his transplant thingy fail? ios that a wig?

dyzzidi · 01/07/2007 22:12

Bravo to William and Harry for pulling this off it is a very fitting tribute to their Mum and they should be very proud of themselves.

LucyLamb · 01/07/2007 22:13

I actually don't think it matters what anyone outisde the UK thinks - this concert is not for the Americans is it ?
