Hope it's OK for me to start a new thread - could not believe we'd burned out on the last one.

Am looking forward to seeing highlights of the Fed/Tits match later.

The first time I went to Wimbledon was the year Evonne won! I was still a teenager........ so I'm not that much older than you, Raahh Grin.

So pleased for Kivitova - I've always liked her.

Well, I'm thinking of her 1980 win magi - I was born in 1971 (the other year she wonGrin) Grin

Private well, fist pumping in Kerber's face is not on.

I like Angie , as lot. But I don't like the attitude that the night sessions are more important than the day ones. It's a big moment in her career- but I'm quite sure they wouldn't have been so rude to Fed or Rafa after their match had they played in the day. Or any of the men in fact.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 10:09

Well, that's more aces than I usually see him serve in a match Grin.

So something is working .

JaneJeffer · 22/01/2019 10:17

Rafa looks like he means business today!

Raahh · 22/01/2019 10:42

Right , first set in half an hour, which is sprinting by his standards.

They were still harping on about the shot clockHmm.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:08

Tiafoe has perked up a bit this set, but we only want so much of that Grin. For entertainments sake. Grin

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 11:08

Of course - that's all the shot clock is good for, giving commentators something else to drone on about. Hmm

Rafa is looking good. Napkins and all Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:09

I'd like one of the players to take a shot at the clock, personally.

I'd pay Benoit Paire to do it. Bet he would, too. Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:11

Getting to the business end of the tournament, makes me realise how little tennis is left Sad

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 11:13

Sad sniffs - don't say that Raahh!

(Even though I know it's true!)

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:18

Private I know.

But we have the whole year to come (I'm terrible for wishing the year away , one tournament at a time!).

With Easter being so late this year, the French open will seem to come around really quickly.

I love the clay season (for quite obvious reasonsGrin), although I don't get to see much, but what I do see, I love the scenery. Monte Carlo is in a stunning venue. It's one tournament I'd love to go to.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 11:32

Ah Frew's words about Rod Laver were very sweet.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:35

Private they were. 46 years they were married.

I can't imagine that. Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:35

Rod and his wife were married 46 year, obviously.

Not Rod and Frew Grin

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 11:37

Sod off Ladbrokes Angry Grin

Seriously, these betting ads! GO AWAY. I'm going to switch to the radio at this rate!!

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:39

They are really annoying aren't they.

I also hate the 'Incredible India' ad. The tune gets in my head all day and irritates me. Grin.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:45

I'm getting annoying with this 'cheap point' crap. He's hardly turned into Kyrgios.

He's served about 9 aces.

Even Federer served 20, losing to Stefanos, were they 'cheap points'?

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:47

He is looing so good.

Djok did not look this good yesterday, against Medvedev.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:51

It's snowing again here.

Well, sleet.

Bet it's not snowing in Melbourne. Grin

JaneJeffer · 22/01/2019 11:53

The crowd are dying for a better match but I'm sitting here thinking I don't care I just want Rafa to get it won!

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:55

Jane Yes. Grin I know. That was a master class. Grin.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:56

(I also need to walk the dog- though he won't go out in the snow).

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:56

ooh, stripping.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 11:56

I rewound that.

Purely to check, because Rafa appeared to have strapping on his abs, you understand. Wink.
