Hope it's OK for me to start a new thread - could not believe we'd burned out on the last one.

Am looking forward to seeing highlights of the Fed/Tits match later.

Grin Jane although given your age at the time, maybe keep that under your hat Shock

Grin

I've just noticed someone has posted a thread about Theresa May's body guard, as spotted on the news earlier, who had a rather lovely beard.

I pointed it out to dh before, and then instantly thought 'bloody hell- I'm turning into AC! Grin'

(It was a lovely beard, though) Grin

PrivateParkin · 21/01/2019 22:07

Grin Raahh I often think of AC when I see nice beards! Grin

Just caught up with the podcast. They were not impressed with Sascha. Although v pleased for Milos. They said he seems to be following Goran's advice - always a good policy no doubt Grin

Raahh · 21/01/2019 22:11

The Milos/Goran partnership does seem to be a good one. Goran worked well with Marin , too. I'm glad- Milos has had a run of bad luck, and is unfortunately prone to injury.

magimedi · 21/01/2019 22:21

Watched the highlights - WTF is Serena wearing????????????

Sascha is a big girls blousie and (when I rule the world) will be heading for the same place as Djok!

Just don't know who to cheer for in the Bustagut/Tits match????

magi Grin that's how I feel about Sascha as well! 6-1 6-1 in the first two sets?! He's the world number 3 (is he?! Or 4?!) fgs!!

JaneJeffer · 21/01/2019 22:55

Stop dissing my boy Sascha or I'll make you listen to one of his winners' speeches!!

PrivateParkin · 21/01/2019 23:02

Grin Jane
I probably won't have time, I'm going to bed in about an hour Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2019 07:03

Well, I see RBA's run came to an end, but he got a set and can be very proud of what he achieved.
I'm hoping Rafa has a 'dull match against Tiafoe Grin.

Will make that semi a tough one, Stefanos will definitely feel he can win it.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 07:23

I underestimated Stefanos - I really thought RBA would win that. He's done brilliantly to back up that Federer win.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 07:48

Collins has backed up her Kerber win, which is probably an even bigger achievement.

I think Stefanos is that next level of player that the and has been waiting for. I just hope he can keep it up.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 08:04

Yes Collins - that's a bolt from the blue isn't it? I love her outfit btw. New Balance has has the best kits this tournament I reckon!

Quantumblue · 22/01/2019 09:20

All hoping Barty does well here although Kvitova look s in a different league.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 09:25

I love watching both of them - I like that Barty is a bit different in style. I think she's looking a bit less nervous now, this should be a close set.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:37

I love Kvitova- she's always been one of my favourites.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:41

QuantumThe Aussies are having a great tournament , with the women.

In fact, they have had a solid tournament with the men, really. Some really good young players coming through- it's looking very healthy Down Under. Grin.

I know 'home; tournaments , with wild cards and stuff can throw up results you would not normally get, but it's still been really good stuff. They've all made the very best of the chances they'vecbeen given.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:44

I am glad to see Petra 'back'- but Ash has had a great run. She's doing really well.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 09:47

Oh god - so moving.

Well done Petra

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:47

Aww Sad

It was such a horrible thing to come back from.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 09:49

Can you imagine - so terrifying - plus it was her left hand that was damaged?? Amazing to come back from that.

Nice to see Evonne in the crowd.

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:51

I need to find out more about Collins.

I don't watch a lot of women's tennis- well, I don't get chance to 'watch' much of the men Grin. I mean I don't follow it as much . I do keep an eye on the players I like over the year, but Collins is a bit of a new one to me. Which i aim to change . Grin.

The main thing is, for me, that the winner is not Serena Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2019 09:55

Now, I wasn't very old when Evonne won Wimbledon (9?) but I do remember it.

And yes, terrifying.
Monica Seles never really came back from her attack , did she? But that is not surprising, in a way, as it was so public, as well as so scary.

PrivateParkin · 22/01/2019 09:55

She has caused quite a lot of comment I think Raahh - fist pumping in Kerber's face, basically. She seems pretty feisty. I saw the end of her match this morning and Sam was doing the on court interview, and she basically just said "well done - now off you go, we have to get ready for the night session". Shock Rude!!
