Surprised there's no thread on this. Did anyone watch it last night or has the series reached its natural end and is no longer attracting viewers?

That's great, fikel. She must have been determined, it was hard enough more recently.
A woman doctor or dentist would be a good addition to Call the Midwife!

Wow FrancisCrawford! What a great story! Graduating from Edinburgh medical school pre WW2, as well. What an interesting life.

fikel · 03/02/2019 20:12

Yes that’s incredible think with some of the stories of our family we could write our own episodes for the series

CoolCarrie · 03/02/2019 20:16

Your aunt’s story is very interesting Francis.
A female doctor would be a great addition to the storyline.

Polarbearflavour · 03/02/2019 20:18

This is sad so far! My ex DP was Sikh so it’s a bit hard for me! Sad

The woman who doesn’t want a third baby and not having the abortion option. And Dr McSmug being really patronising to her. So glad I live in the UK in 2019 where we have choices.

I feel sorry for the new nun Sister Frances.

drspouse · 03/02/2019 20:19

My DGF's second wife was another doctor of the same era - trained at the Royal Free. I don't know that much about her work life, I should ask the other family members.

Ratatouille76 · 03/02/2019 20:28

The actress playing the disapproving mum is really familiar.

Clionba · 03/02/2019 20:30

I was thinking exactly the same, Ratatouille

Ratatouille76 · 03/02/2019 20:33

I'm not sure what the characters name is so it's hard to check.

LIZS · 03/02/2019 20:37

Not preeclampsia?

Polarbearflavour · 03/02/2019 20:38

It’s always pre-eclampsia!

CoolCarrie · 03/02/2019 20:40

Please please don’t let the woman with the two boys die!
Is this what they called Twilight Sleep?

CoolCarrie · 03/02/2019 20:41

Or Is it a general?

LIZS · 03/02/2019 20:41

Doesn't look like a forceps baby. Head too round.

Ratatouille76 · 03/02/2019 20:42

Infection from botched termination?

Polarbearflavour · 03/02/2019 20:42

Please don’t die! 😭

Twodogsdancing · 03/02/2019 20:42

I know a women in her 90s who was a midwife in the East End. She loves the series, but says it’s quite sanitised compared to much of the reality.

Clionba · 03/02/2019 20:43

Baby Singh is a chunky lad! Two mums in danger Sad

Ratatouille76 · 03/02/2019 20:43

I think she is going to die :(

CurbsideProphet · 03/02/2019 20:46

It's an emotional one tonight Sad

Mrscaindingle · 03/02/2019 20:51

Jeanie's going to die and Dr Smug is going to feel guilty..

Clionba · 03/02/2019 20:51

At least Mrs Singh survived.

CoolCarrie · 03/02/2019 20:52

Ffs poor Jeanie
I hope Dr Turner will rethink any further women, he could have helped her, posh women up the west end with money could be helped, but not poor working class women. Thank fuck I live in a time where women have choices and help.

nervousbreakdown · 03/02/2019 20:56

The mother was in Catherine Tate show , she was Lauren Cooper’s mate (as in ‘Am I bothered?’)
