Corrie made a lot of the women on the street look very pitiful recently. It seems to be a recurring theme at the minute (Rita, Jenny, Sinead, Maria, Audrey, hairdresser, Mary, Liz, Sarah, Eileen, Rana, Kate, Michelle ...)

ILoveMaxiBondi · 03/01/2019 00:37

Agree hearty. Tonight’s epsiode alone was awful in that respect. Emma, Mary and Audrey.

Cozzo · 03/01/2019 07:09

Don’t see it as Audrey being reduced to nothing because she’s single and been swindled out of cash some random bloke left her. Hopefully not anyway- she’s still got her family, friends, salon and sass. It was always going to end in tears going back to a wrong un like Lewis.

HollowTalk · 03/01/2019 08:26

I was surprised they didn't give Nigel Havers a bigger scene at the end.

Clawdy · 03/01/2019 09:36

Even for Nick, stealing from his own grandmother would be a bit much, surely. Would they want to turn him into such a villain?

thenightsky · 03/01/2019 09:49

I was surprised they didn't give Nigel Havers a bigger scene at the end

This is why I think he's not dead. Not a big enough send off. They did that with another character not so long ago (can't remember which one). Meant to be dead, but with not much ceremony. Came back within a week.

EachandEveryone · 03/01/2019 09:51

I wonder what’s going to be one of David’s cellnate? Another bad un who turns out to be holier than thou?

Cozzo · 03/01/2019 11:22

Clawdy I know what you mean but perhaps with twisted logic he thinks that if Lewis is going to steal it anyway, he may as well use it as a secret loan and show Lewis up as a conman rather than let him disappear with it.

Clawdy · 03/01/2019 11:27

Could be, Cozzo , hadn't thought of that.

Cozzo · 03/01/2019 11:30

nightsky was that Phelan?

When the ambulance crew knocked at Audrey’s it had to be because one of them had called 999. Don’t think even Lewis could intercept the emergency services! The way the scene was filmed didn’t seem dramatic enough. Like the camera panned slowly to him on the floor from Audrey’s pov and we didn’t really see his face.

Deadringer · 03/01/2019 11:42

I could imagine Nick 'borrowing' the money if he thought Audrey would never find out, but surely he would be looking very shifty at the moment if it was him? I don't think he would actually steal it. Maybe the financial advisor is dodgy? Lewis seems the most likely culprit though.

JustDanceAddict · 03/01/2019 11:50

I think it’s Lewis too. He’s got form and I don’t think even Nick would steal from his granny!

ILoveMaxiBondi · 03/01/2019 12:38

It’s a big risk to take to pretend to be dead if that’s what he’s done. The first thing most people do when they find a collapsed body is to check for a pulse. You can’t stop your heart beating can you? Unless you’re proficient in some sort of Buddhist monk practises!

Deadringer · 03/01/2019 13:52

Lewis pretending to be dead is too far fetched even for Corrie I think.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 03/01/2019 13:56

I would like to think it was too but the whole phelan storyline has stretched the boundaries of acceptability as far as Corrie goes.

Susiesoap7 · 03/01/2019 15:19

I missed Lewis dying! When was that on?
Liking old lying Jude back, just like everyday life lol

Honeyroar · 03/01/2019 15:24

It was last night. Mary searched for Jude, he was in Blackpool. Hopefully he is staying there!

SymphonyofShadows · 03/01/2019 17:22

Nick has had a brain injury and has acted out of character with a fast marriage and taking his wife’s inheritance to buy into Underworld, so I suppose the clues are there.

ShalomJackie · 03/01/2019 17:29

Yep I think Nick too.

He needs to pay back wife money he took.

He mentioned that Audrey still had her savings and looked surprised when she said no it was just that money.

Who was the women on cctv though?

ShalomJackie · 03/01/2019 17:32

What am I? Chopped liver is a standard phrase down south too.

Honeyroar · 03/01/2019 20:40

Weatherfield prison is going to be busier than Weatherfield hospital!

RedLife · 03/01/2019 20:46

What am I? Chopped liver is a standard phrase down south too

It's also in one of Eminem,s songs. Smile

HettySunshine · 03/01/2019 21:12

What I don't understand is that Audrey only had the money for about 5 minutes so the whole 'I don't have any savings, that was it' thing doesn't seem to make sense.

She lived very comfortably before she inherited the money so she must have some private money, surely she wasn't planning on working in the salon until she keeled over??

RedLife · 03/01/2019 21:24

I thought that too.. Unless Lewis took the lot? 🤔

RegularShowRules · 03/01/2019 21:27

Audrey is really horrible to Gail saying 'I love you like a daughter but I haven't liked you for a long time'
Surely she knows Gail is looking out for her?

It obviously is Nick who stole the money but why would he do that to his gran? It seems out of character for him to do that to family as he always stuck up for his family like David and was mediator between Gail and David and seemed to value his family.
