Insomnia has struck and I have been alternating between Homecoming and Joe's vlog.

Having denounced him as beige in thread 11, I am now going to do a mahoosive u-turn and hope he makes the final and gets to do his paso again, as the reaction videos have made me warm to them both.

I feel like Joe is the most likeable contestant left. Stacey was my original favourite, I thought her week 1 dance was excellent. I've kind of gone off her a bit only because it feels as though the beeb are promoting her heavily as 'one of their own'. Week after week she seems to get the best costumes (barring Minions but even that paid off, thankfully!) and music; the judges are always kind to her and Shirley loves Kevin.
I still think she's brilliant, especially if she doesn't have any dance in her background. I felt certain she was a stage school wannabe but her bio says not
Did she take classes as a child/teen? She's very natural

Having done my research, the only into I found was people queuing from 1am. So I got here just after. The next person was half an hour late and the next one hour after that.

We all have chairs with us and are wrapped up warmly but it's still freezing. Ah well only 5.45 hrs to go 'til validation!

Next update: In all honesty unless you are really heart set on being first, between 3 and 4 is a good time to arrive. Everyone in the queue is really friendly, looking after belongings while folks nip to McDonalds.

About 5.30 the staff put the barriers up to manage the queue. At 7 the staff told us they were opening up so we could queue inside and get a bit warmer, which was welcome news. Still 1.30hrs and counting.

That sounds exhausting to have to queue so long. So does that mean that selected got tickets means you still have to queue again? What happens if (like me) you are disabled? I’m confused

I'm digging around for lesser seen pro dances. I'd not seen this one before! Not sure it really works (i.e. the clashy costuming and song choice) but worth it alone for some dodgy Anton/Erin latin moves at 2:20. Anton bare chest alert

I've just watch the CiN dances with Boyzone. They were pretty good, do they ever recruit from the CiN competitors for the real Strictly?

Also, does Shane always sound like that? He's a real mumbler, I only caught half of what he said. I heard the others clearly so I don't think it's a sound or accent thing.

I think Kara Tointon did Sport Relief with Ramps before she was signed to the main show. They did a samba, so she skipped it during the main show as she'd already been trained in it.

Similarly, Simon Webbe did the Christmas special before the main show and had to skip the cha cha as a result

I can't remember if Harry Judd did CiN first too - maybe I'm thinking of the underwater thing he and Chelsee did later

Just checked: Harry won CiN with Ola the year before he did the main show.
