IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 16/11/2018 07:11

Just watched That Jive again - oh my! Aliona’s choreography- mind blowing

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2018 07:42

iPromise And Jay's dancing of her choreography is also a..maz..ing. Interesting that he's Tess's fave contestant.

Wow we have near royalty on our thread now!! Lucky Blackpool and Elstree goers Star Star Glitterball Glitterball Envy ]envy]

GrouchyKiwi · 16/11/2018 09:14

Popping in to mark place and wave hello to the newbies/lurkers.

Theromanempire · 16/11/2018 09:19

Jay and Aliona's jive was truly spectacular - very Envy that you saw it live galaxy. I think part of it was that it was so unexpected as Jay had been very non-descript in the 2 weeks before it. How that did not get 4 x 10's (never mind Darcy's 'cos it's week 3' bollocks) - still makes me Angry now.

KitchenDancefloor · 16/11/2018 11:01

Even the way Jay ambled on to the dance floor and the first few bars didn't hint of the brilliance to come...

(I may be overinvested in this and have seen it way too often)

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 16/11/2018 11:38

I hadn't watched it for a really long time. Watching the first part I was thinking 'this is stylish and good'...then when the music changes Shock Shock Grin

I also liked all the dances Aliona did with Matt Baker and Harry Judd (massive Harry crush Grin)

Samcro · 16/11/2018 11:44

just watched harrys quick step and Jays jive,
one thing that stands out is how much better the camera work was. you can actually see the dance.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/11/2018 11:53

I knew I had found my SCD people when I saw you using the correct spelling of JoeVarney

Grin

We've been very lucky and got tickets to the London one a few years ago. We never in a million years thought we would get tickets for Blackpool.

My first bit of advice is as soon as you get the text/email saying you have tickets book your accommodation. Places go fast and I lost one room while digging out the credit card!

Theromanempire · 16/11/2018 12:24

finally I apply for tickets every year for Blackpool and never win them. Accommodation wouldn't be an issue for me as I am local-ish in fact I am so tempted to go today and hang out like a stalker Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2018 12:26

Oh I don't know theroman ( don't want to sound boastful) but I reckoned Jay was a brill dancer the first time he extended his arm up behind, while Aliona was curving down backwards (does that sound right? Grin ) in the waltz

ellenanora5 · 16/11/2018 14:52

Wanders in casually drops place mark and wanders back out

Grin

I've done feck all today because I've been watching scd links

Thank you all for posting them Smile

kazzaD66 · 16/11/2018 17:13

Blackpool always reminds me of Matt and Aliona's samba, with his bionic bum and the backflips to finish - which curmudgeonly old Len wasn't keen on, thought they weren't relevant - "just cos you can do something, doesn't mean you just bung it in", or words to that effect. God only knows what he thinks of half the crap non dancing faffing abaaht they put in these days HmmGrin

DarlingNikita · 16/11/2018 17:17

kazzaD66, my household regularly shouts 'muckin' abaaaaht!' at Strictly when people spend 30 seconds of the dance standing by a rose arch or whatever. Grin I miss Len.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/11/2018 17:53

You're not kidding! He would have gone ballistic!

TBH - I don't know how they can judge the dances half the time on 15 seconds of dahnce and 1min 45 of "faffin' abaht".

Wolfcub · 16/11/2018 17:56

I too hate the faffing just bloody dance

Wolfcub · 16/11/2018 18:01

I have to say the basil brush skit was spot on. Perfect allegory for this series

ApolloandDaphne · 16/11/2018 18:08

I used to love Basil Brush so much when i was a kid. They need to bring him back i think. He is hilarious.

ApolloandDaphne · 16/11/2018 18:09

BOOM BOOM

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 16/11/2018 18:12

Remember when Artem and Kara copped it for being too avant garde in one of their dances? American Smooth? Was that at Blackpool?

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 16/11/2018 18:42

Yes, it was. I think Len complained that it didn't have enough in hold, and he scored it a 6 (their other scores being 9, 10, 10!). He scored Kara second lowest that night - and only one point more than Widdicombe.

He could be spiteful and petty when he felt inclined, could Len

Wolfcub · 16/11/2018 18:47

Someone needs to feed Swanny some pies

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 16/11/2018 19:03

On the eve of Blackpool, can we Skype just take a moment to remember Blackpool 2009, when Alesha 100% justified her place on the panel by telling the delusional Craig Kelly: "I can't believe that Zoe has gone and that I had to endure that. You are not as good as you think you are."

dontcallmelen · 16/11/2018 20:00

SheCame omg I remember that, it’s was such a shock as she really meant it she was really cross.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 16/11/2018 20:20

It was jaw dropping!

(Not sure why it says 'Skype' in the middle of my post! )
