I wonder if the ratings/votes increase on theme weeks? That might explain the proliferation of them.
I would like to see some penalising of too much faffing and too many props. Wasn’t there a Props Week a few years back? And they had to incorporate a prop for added difficulty rather than now when they seem to wheel a load of props in to distract from the dances!
It was me who wondered what on earth they’ll do for Show dances this year, Cassandra. I always like them but this year I imagine they’ll fall a bit flat if everyone has already effectively done one! I remember feeling really cheated that we never got to see Gleb and Anita’s Showdance; the mind really boggles as to what he would have put in there... And I loved Debbie’s last year, I know it was somewhat wafty but I found it really moving.
I feel like Shirley has tried to address any favouritism this year: she was really harsh on Karen and then seemed to make a strong effort to praise Karen’s choreography and make it clear that she wasn’t holding a personal grudge (which it did seem like early on). I don’t think DJJ going out was favouritism; he was bottom of the leaderboard so the judges had marked Graeme higher originally and then Danny made a big error in the dance off performance.
I think Graeme and Oti have a lovely friendship; I hope there is no basis to any speculation!
The marking of Joe seems really inexplicable to me and also Craig is holding back his 10 as some sort of gimmick. Those things are annoying me. I love the show though! There will always be disappointment at some of the dance offs but it’s just an entertainment show.
