I don't usually notice Oti, but I did notice her bum this week!

I think someone showed how the system was flawed once. In the early weeks, I think it's impossible for the top of the leaderboard to be in the dance off. If there are tied scores on the leaderboard it also skews the results

But surely it's on public vote alone? Still dont get it!

Maybe its just more that if the couple with the highest score are in the dance off the judges would obviously save them

@VerbeenaBeeks no it’s not live. Sunday results show is filmed a few hours after the live show. Spoilers are often leaked from people who were in the audience

Whisky, they combine the judges' scores and the public vote, so it's not just on public vote alone.

Verbeena, have you ever watched the results show? The dance-off is decided by the judges, not public votes. Sunday's show is recorded on Saturday night.

The results show had never been live. People need a day off! If they have been practicing all week, to drag everyone in, including a live audience for them to stand around for an hour on a Sunday night is ridiculous!

Thinking about the apparent impossibility of the top scoring couple to be in the dance off.

I suppose if the scoring is done by giving 1 point to the lowest scoring judges couple and adding one for each place higher on the leader board. And then repeating the process for the public vote, and then adding together the placing marks....

In theory, the lowest possible score for the 1st judges placed couple and the highest possible score for the lowest placed judges couple would be the same. And indeed, everyone could score the same total points.

Say there was 10 couples to start with,

I would assume the bottom 2 would be selected by their position on the original judges leaderboard.

Whisky, it happened with Alexandra last year - the judges’ scores and public vote combine so if at the start the top person on the leaderboard doesn’t get votes, they still won’t be in the dance-off. But once the number of contestants decreases, that’s not the case anymore. So last year Alexandra, one of the best dancers but least popular (also the subject of mean spirited accusations of ‘falseness’ and attempting to use her own mother’s death to get votes by extremely unkind and unpleasant people!) ended up in consecutive dance offs by the end. I don’t know why there are people watching a dance show who are offended by seeing good dancing, but apparently some people would rather watch a whole show full of incompetence!

What I like about Oti is that as well as being a fantastic dancer, she's just really unpretentious and fun the rest of the time- she wears ordinary clothes, has her hair au natural, no make-up- then transforms on Saturday night into an absolute goddess. I think transforming like that is my fantasy as well!

That is how it's done (although I think it's back to front - they start at the top and work down, deducting a point each time.)

Yes I love that about Oti to I think she’s so likeable and seems genuinely nice.
I wish I had her figure she looks amazing.

I’m really narky watching this year. Bruno needs to go, Darcy needs to stop saying ‘oh my goodness ‘ and Shirley needs to stop mothering Joe. Tess has reached number 4 in my annoyances by being annoying by doing nothing!

I agree there is a weird hatred towards people who can dance and it seems like its aimed moreso at women. It's all quite horrible really. The comments from some MN that their dad was also dead, do they win...we're totally out of order and now it's come out that ashley's dad actually committed suicide. So you know what, if ashley wants to dedicate a dance to her dad and also be upset and show emotion at it, then she bloody well can.

she can do what she likes. but the fake, can't dance stuff will still be annoying. same as alex last year. I hate it when the judges pretend ringers have been on a journey. they have not.

On the subject of Ringers though, I'd rather see a whole host of dancers like Stacey than ones like Ashley.

Well, clearly she is ona but if a journey. I also haven't seen any of those kind if comments recently...Maybe at the beginning but really doesnt bother me. I dont know why people get so her up about it. I'd much rather watch ashley than Graham, lauren or joe!

i hope stacey wins, think it will be joe though, but as long as its not ashley/fay I am ok.

I don't know why, as I do usually love a ringer, but I don't love Ashley as a dancer. I think because she's pretty much pro level, I compare her to the pros and she just isn't as mesmerizing at all. I often switch off when she's dancing, I don't know why- I preferred Alexandra for giving it a bit of welly.
