Where's the pantomine?

edam · 17/06/2007 18:10

I do love RAF blue - was indoctrinated by my mother whose parents were both in the RAF in the war (well, grandmother was in the WRAF, I think it was called).

JB = PHWOAARRR. So glad he was back and flirty rather than deeply dull, in Torchwood.

katwith3kittens · 17/06/2007 18:12

Sorry ... but yoy should all try to get out more

Jacanne · 17/06/2007 18:16

But if we went out we might miss Jack......

fsmail · 17/06/2007 18:24

Is the pantomime in Birmingham? I believe there are darliks in it. My DS will love it not so my DD who would prefer flouncy Cinderella dresses.

slayerette · 17/06/2007 18:50

Sorry - had to go and do bathtime. yes, panto is in B'ham at the Hippodrome. It's Aladdin - don't know who JB plays, just saw his name and went right ahead and booked it.

Katwith3kittens - isn't the whole point of MN that none of us do get out - ever - and thus have a fab cyberspace-social-life and crushes on completely unattainable men?

Blandmum · 17/06/2007 19:07

My cousin saw him in the panto in Cardiff last christmas. She said he was excellent

Well it's funny you should have started this, I was just about to revive your national treasures thread to add John Barrowman

Blandmum · 17/06/2007 19:14

God, but he is lush!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Lovecat · 18/06/2007 20:03

Ooooh....

Now how can I persuade the OH that we need to drive for an hour and half to a small village fete near Tunbridge Wells next Sunday?

oggsfrog · 18/06/2007 20:13

Oh poo. Does this mean he was in Dr Who on Saturday???

My mum was supposed to be taping it for me and forgot .

MrsWho · 18/06/2007 20:25

BBC3 9pm Friday

oggsfrog · 18/06/2007 20:39

Thanks MrsWho, but she can't tape BBC3

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 18:27

I've checked and it's isn't on this Friday as it's Glastonbury.
But why wait till Friday!

oggsfrog · 19/06/2007 20:27

Do you you need to have a reasonably good computer and a decent connection speed to use that site?

What exactly do you do? (complete technophobe here)

Does that mean that Dr Who is not repeated at all, because of Glastonbury?

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 20:40

I've checked all through my Sky Planner and the next epsiode of DW is the next one on Saturday. Glasto is on all weekend.
The site is easy. It's just links to where people have uploaded shows , movies etc.
Just scroll down to the show you want, click and choose the episode.
I watched Pirates of the Carribean 3 the other day!
(Certain episodes may ask you to download a Divx player. It's safe to do it)

oggsfrog · 19/06/2007 20:48

But do you have to pay?

Do you need broadband, or even a reasonably good connection speed? (I have a dial-up speed of about 16.8kbps, and it usually takes me hours to download anything)

(I'm probably sounding like a right luddite, but I really don't have a clue with computers)

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 20:52

You are not downloading anything, it's steaming (simiar to watching Youtube) Although I would recommend watching at quieter times. It absolutely FREE!!!
Not sure about download speeds.

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 20:53
  • streaming
oggsfrog · 19/06/2007 21:00

Coo, whatever will they come up with next?

Well, I'll give it a go. Youtube scares me as I haven't a clue how to use it and it takes me ages to be able to watch anything that anyone links to. I get about two seconds of clip per 15 minutes of real time.

Do you know which Dr Who I'm looking for?

(Yes, I really am from this planet, just don't have tv reception and the only programmes I watch are taped for me by my luvverly Mum, who manages to miss the first 5 mins off most things so I never know what they are called )

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 21:03

What was the last one you saw?

oggsfrog · 19/06/2007 21:14

Ooh, was a bit drunk , but it was something to do with garden statues?

The one we missed was last Saturday's episode.

I've just gone to that site and clicked randomly on any Dr Who, just to see what would happen.

It said I needed a plug-in , so agreed to download, and am now very, very, very, very slowly installing a DivX player? Might be collecting my pension by the time it's finished though

PersonalClown · 19/06/2007 21:25

That's ok. It's a player that needed to show some episodes. You are looking for the episode called 'Utopia' Series 3. Has John Simms in it and the return of the utterly delicious Captain Jack.(hence the thread!)
