Yes, it's awful for Rebecca and Neil @Inkanta but it's none of our business. They're not the first people to hurt their partners but it's not up to us (the public) to give moral judgement - let those without sin cast the first stone and all that. We don't know what's going on behind closed doors, it sounds like the Jones' may have an open marriage and who knows what was going on in Sean and Rebecca's relationship. And it was only a kiss for goodness sake, not murder. Worse things happen at office Christmas parties. Contestants in the past have had full on affairs with their dance partners but there was none of this uproar.

Let's face it, most celebrities nowadays have had a scandal or two far worse than this. The BBC would have to axe Strictly completely if they required everyone to have a completely clean reputation, with no scandals, or mistakes in their past, as they would have a hard time finding any contestants!

DarlingNikita · 13/10/2018 14:07

Dear lord, maybe the BBC should make them wear big scarlet As too? They made a silly mistake in their private lives, but the pearl clutching is OTT now. The audience should treat them as they would any other dance act.

I agree. I'll be really pissed off if the audience makes a 'point' by doing something like this. Hardly anyone would get a round of applause if they refused to clap for anyone who'd ever had an affair or an indiscretion.

I've been wondering if the Beeb are going to brief the studio audience along the lines of 'Let's carry on as normal.' I've no doubt there have been, and might still be, numerous conversations about it with the judges and presenters, and probably the other slebs and pros too.

Which in itself is a bit silly; they're only the first ones to have their snog splashed all over the media, not the first ones to have done something like that.

Inkanta · 13/10/2018 14:18

'And it was only a kiss for goodness sake, not murder.'

Purple you have said this all week!

I want them out - and I think a lot of other people do too. Sooner they are out for me the better. They have not just hurt their partners but broken protocol.

Craig blames Katya - 'it’s her job not only to protect her own relationship, but to protect the celebrity’s and be the mentor. I think she broke protocol over that. She should never have allowed it to happen.'

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/10/2018 14:20

Umm, Craig said that? Really? I mean he's right, but ironic given his alleged one night stand with Joe McFadden while he was still a contestant.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/10/2018 14:22

Anyway, I doubt it's going to be an issue for much longer, the bits of their Charleston that I've seen have been lumpy and too complicated for him to keep up. I don't think she learned anything from his jive.

PurpleOctober · 13/10/2018 14:24

@Inkanta As I've said before, Katya is not the first nor the last to 'break protocol'. Kristina did it multiple times and she didn't face criticism anywhere near this level, she was asked back again and again, despite the ex wives/girlfriends being very vocal about her and what happened in the press. Vincent also cheated on his pregnant partner with Kristina, Flavia cheated on Vincent with Matt, and Brendan cheated on his fiance Camilla with Natasha. No hysteria. And in all these cases, it wasn't just a snog outside the pub either!

Inkanta · 13/10/2018 14:32

'As I've said before, Katya is not the first nor the last to 'break protocol'

Yes *Purple" - you have said this all week too! Smile

One week on - my mind is made up - I don't want them in the competition anymore. There has to be some protocols and the BBC should be bigger than this. They don't need high viewing figures on the back of this.

OublietteBravo · 13/10/2018 14:37

Hello. I dropped off the thread for a bit. I see we’ve not changed topic yet. Roll on tonight’s show.

xsquared · 13/10/2018 14:44

I wouldn’t be surprised if people started to watch Strictly because of them and then voted for them to stay in.

I think they’ll be in the bottom two but there are weaker dancers than Seann and they may well stay in.

PurpleOctober · 13/10/2018 14:47

I think if it were a case of voting for a couple to leave, they would be sure to go. But because it's voting for couples to STAY, some may vote for them to see more drama. We'll have to wait and see.

iklboo · 13/10/2018 14:48

Umm, Craig said that? Really? I mean he's right, but ironic given his alleged one night stand with Joe McFadden while he was still a contestant.

The difference is that was alleged.

mydogisthebest · 13/10/2018 14:54

George Lamb didn't only not seem to want to comment about Seann though did he? He didn't really comment on anyone. I wondered why he was even there as he was so useless.

Inkanta, YOU have decided that you want Seann and Katya out! Oh well they must go then mustn't they?

Yes the one night stand between Craig and Joe was "alleged" but surely so is the abuse/gaslighting? Oh of course that is different.

There is going to be a twist when Seann and Katya do go. Instead of their last dance, they are going to be burnt at the stake (even that wouldn't be enough for a lot of people)

ManicUnicorn · 13/10/2018 14:56

Craig shagged Joe McFadden?!😯Why is that the first Ive heard of this?!

Ive heard of one of the judges having a fling with a Celebrity before, but this predates the series with Joe. I also don't know which judge or celeb it was just that it happened. I narrowed it down to two of them...

kazzaD66 · 13/10/2018 14:57

inkanta we know you have no sympathy for S&K, you've made that blindingly obvious, but they're not the ones who have disrupted the show enough. Thats has been done by the press - and the likes of you, frankly - who have banged on about it incessantly all week. I'm fed up with reading about it and seeing their pictures on the front pages of papers, esp when there are far more important issues in this world to report on.

kazzaD66 · 13/10/2018 14:59

mydog Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/10/2018 15:04

I can’t believe how mishandled the whole Sean(n)/Katya thing has been. Particularly the ITT apology. Why anyone felt the need to say anything beats me. They should have let this burn itself out away from the programme, danced as usual and taken whatever the voters threw at them.

There is always the possibility that Katya and Neil DO have a Visa marriage, that he wouldn’t give a toss about her snogging Sean(n) under normal circs, and that her anxiety is based on being rumbled and her visa revoked. But that’s purely idle speculation.

Inkanta · 13/10/2018 15:11

'Inkanta, YOU have decided that you want Seann and Katya out! Oh well they must go then mustn't they?'

MyDog - I know you have lot of sympathy and time for Seann and Katya and have read your posts. You give a very persuasive argument in their favour. I don't agree though. There has to be protocols and a code of conduct. They really did cross the line.

ElspethFlashman · 13/10/2018 16:54

I just want to know what Marian Keyes said, tbh. I have such a girl crush on her.

Looking forward to tonight. Yeah, I'm gonna be a bit gleeful at any awkwardness but no more gleeful than I was at The Great Gay Off 2018 (tm Monkseal) last week.

I expect lots of vaguely political non-speak when talking to Claud afterwards "It's been a difficult week but we just concentrated on the Dawwwwnce and tried to focus on that, really. It's such a great Dawnce, the Charlestown, so tricky though. Onwards and upwards!"

Snore. But hey ho.

Is it too soon to say I miss Bruno already? I mean, he's a goddam mess but he's good telly.

charliebear78 · 13/10/2018 17:02

They had a drunken Snog.
Seann's relationship may have been on the way out and who knows what is going on in Katya's and Neil's...(Beards,Visas and open relationships all discussed on here)
I think most of the blame lies with Katya-she was the professional.
I actually think they will stay in the comp.
I am going out tonight though so won't get to watch!!! (boo)

TheSassyAssassin · 13/10/2018 17:20

Just read that Katie's acid attacker has been released from prison after serving 9yrs (so not quite the 'life' he was originally given I think). They've increased her security as a result. Hope she has a good time tonight and does really well!

CassandraCross · 13/10/2018 18:20

That's crap about Katie's acid attacker, I read he was up for release soon but didn't realise it meant now. What a piteous amount of time he served.

I hope the news doesn't adversely affect her performance.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2018 18:26

I reckon enough has been reiterated on and on about K & S can we leave it now?

This thread is about the daaance dahlings.

mydogisthebest · 13/10/2018 18:36

As soon as I read the awful news that Katie's attacker has been released I felt worried for her. Will the worry about it affect her dancing? I do hope not.

FuzzyCustard · 13/10/2018 18:42

Evening all. How are my fishy friends tonight?

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/10/2018 18:42

Here we go!

Nooooooo Tess!
