I am enjoying this series, but I would love Arlene back. I don't like Shirley much and Tess really annoys me. I tend to watch on catch up and zip through.

I think.its obvious that the pros dance alone because of the wires being hooked up? Is that not obvious to everyone?

I think that video is pretty damning. Why would they do that in a public area though?

If its true I can't see a way of them styling it out on the show really.

Also, you have probably all covered this, but I really think they made a mistake with Ashley.

She is a dancer. She was a judge on Dancing on Ice because she is a dancer. This isn't just lessons as a child or been in a few pop videos. This is a person who is a proper career dancer.

Ashley will get to the final because even if she ends up in the bottom two she won't get voted off - unless she and Faye appear there together. As she's a trained dancer itsy unlikely to win though.

It makes it easier to keep your weight down (not condoning it, but that's why a few people I know did). Also, it is still more common abroad than it is here, so perhaps taking it up in the first place is more normal.

I watched the Matrix dance again, this time with no sound. I have to tell you it wasn’t that amazing without the music and atmosphere. Katya of course was fabulous and the slo-mo bit looked impressive, but Seann actually did very little other than wave his arms around like a windmill gathering momentum.

And although I understand the contestants need time off screen to unhook from any aerial props, they are there to show us they can dance. We already know Katya can.

I just looked at that video on the Sun website (please don't judge me!), no way can they pass that off as anything other than what it is. How disrespectful to their partners, I also think the viewers of Strictly will take a dim view of it.

My favourites last night were Kate Silverton, Ashley and Faye. I enjoyed the Matrix Paso thought it was a very good performance but he didn't really do much actual dancing. I liked Danny John Jules but it wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped and think it suffered from being on immediately after Faye and Giovanni's quickstep.

Overall I am quite pleasantly surprised at the standard this year, the most awful one has already gone (Susannah) so we haven't had to put up with weeks and weeks of embarrassment. It seems more balanced this year, none of those left are dreadful there are a number who are pretty reasonable and could improve and a few very good ones.

I thought Lee was awful.

Loved Stacy and Kevin's dance and I thought Kevin struggled a bit to keep up with her.

But Faye was the winner for me. Fabulous.

Re Seann and Katya I had a suspicion. I thought the routine was outstanding but the cameras kept going back to Seann's partner in the audience. And when I hear that phrase 'you've been working hard all week' my immediate thoughts were 'Oh Yeah?'

Be careful if you watch any dances back on YouTube, I've just read the spoiler in the comments gah!

Unpopular opinion - I thought Stacey and Graeme were super overmarked! They both did well with dodgy themes but the execution wasn't that brilliant. Stacey (and Kevin Shock)'s kicks and flicks lacked power, especially in the second half. I liked all the little details they put in (to make it minion-y) but it wasn't a great jive imo. And I say that as a Stacey fan Smile

I like Graeme too but parts of that charleston looked very lumpy, including the lifts. I didn't like Oti's choreography which is saying something! I don't get the high praise for that routine.

I loved Nadiya's choreo and their Back to the Future theme!

So would I Sparkling - she could be acidic, and she pulled no punches, but her criticism led to marked improvements in the standard of dancing. She really knew her stuff and wasn't afraid to make enemies.

She was a judge I loved to hate, IYKWIM - whereas Bruno inspires nothing but contempt. He really is well past his "use by" dat.

I think Shirley 'n' Darce dislike each other, and I think they are all sick of Bruno's antics. He's become a parody of himself.
