Oops! Just posted on the old thread and it passed 1000 messages and died. Thought I had better start a new one quick!

OP posts:

Behind the scene at the Heat photo shoot here.
got all the name tags done (pain in the bloody arse).

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 07:05

Thanks for the link Lyra - I'm waiting now to see if I can actually get to see something.....

While I'm waiting though I've just read the text "Here?s the lovely Lee Mead perfecting his popstar pout during our photoshoot (and you can see the finish product in this week?s mag). As you can see, the Any Dream Will Do winner is a cooperative little thing ? but give him a year on the stage, dahling, and he?ll be throwing tantrums and demanding 3,000 white lilies?"

A cooperative little thing - the patroninsing bastards . I really think they've got something against him.

Lyrabelacqua · 28/06/2007 08:31

By the looks of the photo shoot, they could have chosen a far less cheesy picture. He posed for some really nice ones. and they didn't have to put those slippers on him. Makes him look like a joke.

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 11:13

Haven't had time to watch much of the link (total of 4 secs up to now ).

Thought it was going to be impossible as I got a message saying;

"This player requires a faster connection to enable smooth playback of video. The connection speed detected will cause a potentially unviewable experience."

But I persevered and after 30 mins was able to view a whole 4 secs .

Am out today so will maybe have another go tonight.

binkleandflip · 28/06/2007 13:56

Hmmm..I'm still not really feeling it for Lee yet...When he turns the eyes on then yeah. I'm there, but in person (as in the heat link) I dunno, I'm just not getting it...help me get it girls please!!!

BoingBoing · 28/06/2007 19:25

MWA MWA MWA. LYRA YOU ARE MY HERO

[g rin]

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
I had to go to Tesco after picking up DS so I made a slight detour to check my post..... hehehe

Lyrabelacqua · 28/06/2007 20:03

Have you watched it yet? What did you think???
Binkle, if you're not feeling it, it can't be forced, love. According to someone who's met him and who wasn't a fan beforehand, he's utterly stunning in real life. Maybe that's what you need a real-life rendezvous.

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 20:19

Boing, isn't she fabulous????

Lyra, spill... who do you know who's met him??

Can't get enough of his voice on Close Every Door, it's so deep and Mmmmmmmmmmmmm......

LyraB · 28/06/2007 20:24

I don't know the person who met him, she posted on The Other Forum and since meeting him she's a complete convert. I'll have to start hanging around in central London...

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 21:07

Has everyone deserted this thread for The Other Place ???

Anyone heard from Berrie? - she seems to have been gone an awful while.

LyraB · 28/06/2007 21:19

Thanks God you're back, I thought i was on my own here.
I think Berrie said she'd be away for a week. She's probably been cured of her addiction by now.
what have you been up to today? My day's been pretty dull, weather not great, so me and ds2 went shopping.

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 21:33

I'm here for a little while longer before I go and have a bath.

Buy anything interesting?

You're right, Berrie had booked away for Sat to Sat, it's just that I thought she was due back last Sat not this Sat

I've been doing some work for a friend. Basically envelope stuffing, but it means I've earned enough to treat myself to new contact lenses (all the better to see Lee with )(all the better to use binoculars with )

It's very still and overcast here and I've got to go and shut the chickens in for the night. I'm going to get eaten alive by the midges

LyraB · 28/06/2007 21:40

Ah, I remember the midges. I lived in Scotland for a while.
Just read on The Other Place that Craig has landed a role in the Joseph tour. Hope it's not the lead role. That would be very disappointing for anyone going to see it.

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 21:42

I agree, he was one of the few I just couldn't take to at all.

Most of the others had something to endear them but I just drew a blank with him.

LyraB · 28/06/2007 21:46

I hope BoingBoing is enjoying her Leefest. Haven't heard from her for a while...

oggsfrog · 28/06/2007 21:49

I'm gonna have to love you and leave you..... the bath is a calling, and I've still got one renegade chicken and her two chicks to put to bed.

Have a good evening, I'll catch you tomorrow

RTKangaMummy · 28/06/2007 21:52

You lot do know LEE is on TV on Sunday don't you

Live in concert

LyraB · 28/06/2007 21:59

Yes, the Diana concert. Where have you been? Did you get bored of teasing us? There are many unanswered questions...

RTKangaMummy · 28/06/2007 22:02

Andrew Lloyd Webber - accompanied by a host of stars, including his reality TV discoveries, Lee Mead and Connie Fisher ? will present some of his musical theatre standards as part of this Sunday?s Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium.

The live tribute concert is being organised by Princes William and Harry to mark the tenth anniversary of their mother's death and takes place on the day that would have been her 46th birthday. One of the first events in the new Wembley Stadium, it will be broadcast live, from 3.30pm to 10.00pm, on both BBC One and BBC Radio Two, attracting an estimated audience of two billion worldwide.

Lloyd Webber?s specially devised segment is scheduled to begin at 6.45pm. In addition to The Sound of Music?s Fisher and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat?s Mead, the composer will be joined by Anastacia, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Jason Donovan, Josh Groban, Andrea Ross and Donny Osmond in performing his songs. The principal singers will be backed by a 24-strong choir from Chickenshed's Children's Theatre, of which Diana was a patron.

The concert will be the first public performance for Lee Mead since his triumph earlier this month on the BBC One competition Any Dream Will Do to win the title role in Lloyd Webber?s new production of Joseph (See News, 11 Jun 2007), which starts performances at the West End?s Adelphi Theatre on 6 July ahead of a 17 July opening night.

Lloyd Webber?s group represents the only musical theatre contribution to the Concert for Diana. Other artists confirmed to appear are: Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Elton John, The Feeling, James Morrison, Joss Stone, Kanye West, Lily Allen, Natasha Bedingfield, Nelly Furtado, Orson, P Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Rod Stewart, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, Take That, Tom Jones, Status Quo, Will Young and the English National Ballet.

Proceeds from the Concert for Diana will go to charities supported by the late Princess, and to charities of which the Princes are patrons. For further information, visit the Concert for Diana website.

LyraB · 28/06/2007 22:18

Would be nice to be there.

BoingBoing · 29/06/2007 13:30

G'day, I'm back. Sorry, I've been in a Leefest haze since late yesterday, no sleep, just on a constant play.....sigh.....
Yeah, I wish! Unfortunately DH came home last night, so only managed a few mins with the dvd before I had to pick him up. Now the DVD will probably have to be on hold until after the weekend now, but it will be something to console me I guess
However, I've now escaped to work, so the cd is being worn out on the car stereo. And wow!!!!!! His voice is abso-fucking-lutely amazing. OK, a bit dodgy on some songs, and dare I say it, a 'bit rubbish' may be right on a certain song. Mack the Knife suddenly sounds a bit cabaret, when put next to New York New York, but JCS & Oh What a circus are just stunning. OK, better stop, I could go on for hours......and I have work to do!
Sorry if I'm not around much until Monday- quality time with DH!

LyraB · 29/06/2007 14:54

Were you not expecting DH then?
I know what you mena about the voice being a bit dodgy on certain songs, especially one. Zoe was right all along.
I'm looking forward to hearing Keith's album. Hope there are a few MT songs on it.

BoingBoing · 29/06/2007 15:46

Oh yes, definitely expecting DH - he just ruined my dvd-fest by getting an earlier train! (2 hours earlier FFS, does he have NO consideration for his wife's extra-marital activities?)
And grudgingly...yes...Zoe was right, but I still don't apologise for being rude about her - she was way over the top! And you can see from the ADWD video that he was actually stopping himself from blubbing. Ahh, bless.
Keith cd should be good, as long as I can buy the one without his face on the cover hehehe

slayerette · 29/06/2007 20:16

I have to go to a meeting tomorrow and Sunday!
but I do get paid for it
and lunch
I don't really have any Lee news/comments but didn't want to abandon the thread!
Looking forward to a bit of JB tomorrow night
but only watching him on tv
although he will be tied up

binkleandflip · 30/06/2007 13:17

Interview with Lee in Daily Mail's 'weekend' magazine today
