@Autumn i agree. Makes no sense to swap stuff you've already paid for

Actually I take that back, pleasantly surprised with car seat comparison!

Didn't expect ERF to be on the cards.

The gran lives with them but it's not clear whose house it is.

I can't believe she was buying pampers with 4 babies.

The washable nappies weren't really good ones plus they do take practice!!! I had 3 in washables it was fine but 0 to 4 using them is a big ask.

I'm not watching but people who overspend need to be taught how to buy less not cheaper. Usually ime it's a mistake to buy cheap but there's loads of "stuff" in most people's homes that adds nothing to their lives.

I think when you have five kids and no cash, the designer kit and luxury products have to go. Why does he need three strips a year? I hope they sell the kids’ designer clothes once they no longer fit to try and recoup some cash but I doubt it.

Tried to find it on +1 on sky but can’t see it. Meant to record it but forgot.

This show doesn't work in the same way the food version does as they can't just swap things like buggie, car seat, football tops because they have already bought them and won't get full value back if they sell.

But I supposed it's supposed to make them think about future spends.

MadeForThis · 29/08/2018 20:59

How does the buggy and sterilisers etc save them money when they have already bought them.

How to save money - stop buying designer stuff.

The 10 year old is so obnoxious. He'll never agree to swaps. Wouldn't even say if he liked the phone as he couldn't tell what make it was.

Granny will just subsidise the £600 a month and life won't change for them.

I hate the way kids can be spoiled like that. The ten year old boy did not need all that stuff, and it will only get worse.

Sorry being a bit thick here, I don’t understand the significance of the spotty top

It doesn't really work as well as a concept as for the most part, things that have been paid for, have already been paid for. I'm also disappointed that they didn't test double buggies though!

Also think it's unrealistic to expect the wee one to go from 3 full Arsenal kits, plus tracksuit and probably all the training gear. Surely a compromise - one kit for a birthday present, eg would be more realistic.

Report
CurbsideProphet · 29/08/2018 21:21

Celticlassie she tested a quad buggy, as at the moment they have 1 double and 2 single buggies.

The 10 year old came across as very spoilt, though it's not surprising. Do they ever go to watch Arsenal? Does it matter what they wear to watch Arsenal on the telly? Hmm

I liked the mum but the nan was a dick and is doing the kids no favours.

And the holiday swap was ridiculous
They are going all inclusive in Majorca for £4k for 8 people. £2k for camping on Normandy may sound like a bargain but factor food, drink and camping equipment in and you are probably looking at significantly more than £2k. Plus food n drink in France is notoriously extortionate

Report
LightastheBreeze · 29/08/2018 22:06

I couldn’t think of anything worse that Majorca with 4 under 2s, I would be worn down before even getting off the plane

Report
PippaPenny · 29/08/2018 22:18

Liked the family but they are behaving ridiculously. The two adult 'parents' to the five kids were behaving like kids themselves. Grow up and take responsibility financially. Don't live off your mum, live within your means.'Mum' spending £8000 a year plus a £4000 holiday?

Stop spending. Save and buy or rent your own house, pay for your own holidays (and dad how can you afford two arms full of tattoos?).

Surely once the two sets of twins are older they won't all be able to live with 'mum' ?

Blinking heck 😂😂

Yes seems silly to save money when have stuff like car seats buggy’s etc

I hate their buggy. It’s a brand but awful to put up and down. Had in a maternity job with twins.

Give me a nipper out and about

NAN admits she spoils olds child as was an only child and wanted a sibling. Now he has 4

Bottles. As a maternity nurse I get all babies off bottles by 1 and go to a beaker so they didn’t need to many as first set of twins would have been off them by 2nd lot came

Certainly wouldn’t use washable nappies for 4 kids under 4

Lidl or Tesco instead of pampers

Love the £1 moisturiser saving £120 a year

Yes mum lives with them

Totally misses point: hang on, 4K AI for 8 people
In Majorca?? How? That's crazy cheap for 8 people.

Are they going in term time?
