Couldn't see a thread on this already so just posted to say it is back on Tuesday 28th August.

Less than 2 weeks to go. Yippee!

Watching Extra Slice. I don't care for the Tom Allen section. He seems to have the wrong tone for Bake Off. Too bitchy and snarky

Agree that Tom is a tad too sharp for bake off,though he does make me laugh. Everyone will do gay themed bakes now, can you get gay hedgehogs?

Imelda is very funny ,they should keep her!

Lived no! I can see too much of me (any glimpse is bad enough!) but our interview was cut because our bake was BAD!

I can say what we made now. It was apple biscuit cookie cups which we glazed with white choc inside and then filled with local cider from where we come from Grin As we poured the cider in it was a bit disastrous!

I think it's a shame they seem to have given up having a guest on Extra Slice who knows about baking. Five comedians is really OTT. Also, they tried having a resident comedian (Romesh Ranganathan) on the Apprentice spin-off and gave it up because it didn't really work, so I'm not sure why they think it will work on this.

Tom Allen made me laugh...he was quite snarky though, and I wonder if it might grate after a week or two. But today I laughed!

The whole point of Wagon Wheels is that they are full of artificial ingredients and you BUY THEM FROM A SHOP!

A home made Wagon Wheel is wrong on so many levels.

I agree about the Tom Allen section too. Too many comedians. And i love Tom Allen, but its a bit too much of a good thing. Why couldn't Russell Tovey eat the homemade wagon wheels but he could do the wagon wheel forehead thing they did?
A also agree with MrsFezzwig about Wagon wheels. They are like a disappointing Tunnocks Teacake. Why would you make them? Just make a Teacake or buy both or either from a shop

We were told that one of the panelists had a nut allergy when we were being asked about our bakes... presume it was him!

Tom Allen is funny- in small doses. If he’d done his bit and then gone off again it would have been better. Otherwise jo brand has to struggle for the anchor back and that’s not good.

Russel Tovey I wish we’d seen more of, felt he got lost a bit and it’s extra slice not mock the week so that isn’t on really.

I knew where I was sat, so I kept seeing me, because I knew where I was, but my best friend of 40 years only just spotted me! I want someone on this thread to apply and go on (easy to do) and I can give them all the tips of how to get airtime! Definitely funny bakes are the way to go... the woman next to me with the hijab was hilarious, she did a cake paying homage to the biscuit variety pack and was so funny on camera!

I thought it seemed TOO long Roussette it's best to be left wanting more IMO. I agree there was too much Tom Allen. Funny in small slices (geddit!!!!)

I much prefer these programmes to be half an hour. An hour is tedious.

They all actually played two games too! One involved making a biscuit selfie of themselves and another, I have no idea what it was, just a bit boring! I think the editors are working in the background to see if anything needs re-recording and they were just trying to keep the audience amused, I was losing the will to live at this point though, and me and DD started eating our bake Grin
