Oh yes viques the real Portuguese pastas de nata are amazing 'worth the calories' as Prue has said. I think they made them in GBBO a couple of years ago.

Ah! Here you are! I've been frothing for two days now about Imelda and Ruby doing the hand holdy shaky thing. That doesn't belong on Bake Off at all, they should feck to X Factor with that carry on.

Moustache is very annoying, and the camera operator needs to be much much further away from Specs lady, she's too animated for a close up.

I liked Bryony (sorry, did she happen to mention being from Bristol? I thought she might have possibly mentioned Bristol, but the first three hundred times I wasn't quite sure), and Manon is my new girl crush, she's a flicky haired baking supremo.

I thought she may have been wearing a lot of makeup on her nose? It must be very difficult to figure out how much to put on for the camera if youre into that kind of thing and I have no idea if they have makeup artists. Anyway not that it matters! I really like all the contestants this year and feel like their personalities are starting to shine through already.

It was kim-joy's makeup I didn't like, not her face!

Odd bunch this year, not as immediately likeable as last year when we had the lovely Liam and Julia.

I found Bryony and Manon likeable, and I'm willing to believe that Anthony and Rahul may be added to the list as we get to see more of them.

Describing someone who is of dual racial heritage (Chinese-Malaysian and English, I believe) as having a 'peculiar appearance' -- let alone the comment about her looking as if she's wearing an Ant and Dec disguise mask (?) is thoroughly unpleasant, and I'm not the only one who thought so.

I didn’t say she looked like she was wearing an Ant and Dec disguise. Read it again. I said I wondered if that was a real nose and whether she was a famous person in disguise. If you would like to interpret that as racist, and/or unpleasant, I’ll feel free to accuse you of being the type of person that irons their own knickers.

If she was white English would it be OK to comment on her face?

Kim-Joy's features are unusual in part because she's mixed-race. Harping on that is both unpleasant and racist. I thought she was great, and I hope she goes far in the competition.
