Couldn't see a thread on this already so just posted to say it is back on Tuesday 28th August.

Less than 2 weeks to go. Yippee!

DD got annoyed with my saying that Kim-Joy looked like an overgrown schoolgirl so I’ll have to stay on here to do my judging!!

We had a massive thunderstorm in the middle of it last night and had to turn our electricity off. Who got sent off? They repeat it at the weekend don't they?

I think I'm alone in immediately liking Kim-Joy

Not quite Bassoon I like her too - I think she's (really, not just for the camera) eccentric, and I warm to that.

I thought that the 3D face in brandy snap looked grim, like something out of Harry Potter.

Slept on it and have concluded Rahul and Kim-Joy are my potential faves/ones to watch. And have to say I hope the camera crew/film direction doesn’t overegg the incredibly unsubtle Paul twinkly eyed flirting which feels a bit tired and distracting. Or am I unfairly grumpy about that?

I've just remembered who Kim-Joy reminds me of. It's Ushi, a Dutch TV presenter's alter ego from the early naughties.

There's also a hint of Janice from the muppets...

I found you all. I'm late to the party, but I LOVE Bake Off.

My thoughts:

Terry's death mask was horrific.

Paul is doing something to his eyebrows - not sure what, but there is something going on there. I actually met him this summer and he is smaller than he looks on Bake Off - I was a bit disappointed.

Love Noel's new haircut & sideburns. He is so hot, I could eat raw cake mixture off his tummy.

Felt really sorry for Imelda and wasn't convinced she should have gone out. Thought Terry probably should have been for the chop.

Manon des Sources may end up getting on my tits, although I quite like her at the moment.

I like the fact that they're doing recipes like the 'wheely waggons' that we could all do (they said they were doing that deliberately)

Interesting that they chose those , the ones they made were mostly 100% nicer than than the rubbish sold in the shops!

Not decided who I dislike and like just yet i'll wait till next week but not getting all the Anthony love - he's very not noticeable I thought, nothing notably likeable nor loathsome

Thought Imelda was acting like she was about to kill someone against her will before the results. if she had have stayed I'm not sure she'd have handled the stress for more than two weeks!!!

Fourscore I thought Bryony looked like that actress too!

Just caught up! Loved Briony and KimJoy, and the little twirly tashe man who did the amazing portrait. Manon is a tad too perfect for me, no one should be able to bake so neatly, I bet all her drawers and cupboards are double kondo ed! And she always had her homework in on time all beautifully done. Sigh.

Btw what is happening with extra slice? Is it happening, the only one on catch up is last years, I do love extra slice...

On a cake related theme, I was looking after a friend's cat while they were away, they came back from Portugal last week and bought me some genuine Portuguese Natas, freshly baked that morning and air freighted home just for me, delish.

Manon is my early favourite, I think she's very sweet. Fan of Briony too.

Ruby and Kim-Joy make me want to throw things at my TV.

I thought Karen asking one of the other bakers, if he wanted a crisp - when he was clearly still finishing his biscuits - was incredibly fucking smug, as she was clearly making the point that she was finished. I just don't like that kind of attitude.

Our telly box is broken and the engineer won't be out until Saturday the lazy bastard, so I won't be able to share extra slice with you all.

Please add some cutting, phenomenally witty comments for me, will you? Ta.

DH works till about 8:30 so we record & watch when he comes in. He's said he'll bring appropriately themed snacks in for us to eat each Tuesday.
