The real star of the show is the show itself, and the celebs are there as archetypes as much as individuals. You don’t have to be able to be able to pick Graham Swann out of a lineup to be able to enjoy the traditional age-old tale of “blokey sportsman of a certain age who has achieved at the very highest level of international sport is initially uncomfortable in this new environment but then unleashes his competitive streak and discovers his inner John Travolta (or, alternatively, dances like a badly self-assembled wardrobe - either will do).

Death In Paradise has a huge crossover with the core SCD demographic, so DJJ at least is into a winner. And Susannah Constantine (assuming that’s true) will have huge name recognition with the 40-70 female age group.

I think that if all the tabloids and the Sun in particular go as definitive on a spoiler as they have with Susannah C then it’s probably based on fact, so I’d assume she’s nailed on. Given the number of male and female pros the other one could well be a woman too. I’ll be disappointed not to see Alex Scott there - I think it could be a good pre-World Cup awareness raiser for the Lionesses.

TBH I prefer this line up then people who are famous for being famous ir from Made in Chelsea. Really inspirational people such as Katie, Stacey and Lauren. A doctor, a newsreader - and as much as the pop stars might annoy you they've been in successful bands. Even the YouTuber has worked off his own initiative.

Susanna would fill the larger woman/larger norks slot....I personally would like to see her on the show as it would be interesting whether she influences how wardrobe dresses her. I think they usually fail big women in how they dress them (except Susan week one and Sunetra but the latter was not plus size just bigger boobs than usual...Ruth's launch dress last year for example did her no favours whatsoever).

Mark Curry would fill the older man's slot but, like Danny, he can actually dance so that would be interesting.

First out for me would be Seann unless he is paired with a popular pro like Oti or Katya. Even then Pasha's fandom did not save him last year.

Yes. No big names this year then. I like about half of them. A few more unknowns for me compares to last year.

"No big names this year" like previous years must have missed the Angelina Jolie and Drake episodes last year.

I don't think viewers realise what a time commitment this show is and therefore unlikely to ever get stars at the height of their career taking part.

Well, it’ll genuinely be all about the dancing for me this year as I’m not excited by any of those going in, so it’ll depend on how they do on the dance floor.

Just hope that we have a better winner this year than last! Really didn’t warm to Joe and Katya at all.
