I think I know the medication Alex would be on, I was on it myself a few years back, and it also made me burn so quickly and stay looking that way for a while.

If it was sunburn he was suffering, he'd be blistered and peeling by now. The meds change his skin pigmentation, so he's not actually burnt.

Why would Alex go in?

Well yes but I meant as a character flaw, not applying sunscreen effectively or often enough just seems quite trivial.

I think everyone could kid themselves they were gently poking fun at someone daft enough to get sunburnt, if they hadn't used such unkind language.

It didn't come across as 'I'm worried for his health' or even 'what a fool he is not to use adequate sunscreen'.

It came across as 'I don't like this person, what can I identify about his appearance to lambast him'.

Charlotte Crosby calling Alex vile is laughable, I doubt he would be deeply affected by her comments because I know I wouldn't care about a chav's remarks, they're irrelevant.

I'm finding some of the holier than thou attitudes a bit irritating too. Using racist and misogynistic language is unacceptable, but I don't think analysing the looks and attitudes of people who've chosen to go on Love Island is wrong.

This is not a brand new show. They know what they're getting into. They court fame on Instagram based purely on their looks.

Maybe I'm being naïve and under-estimating the nastier side of this type of fame but I do think this thread has been pretty fair on the whole.

@MissDollyMix CC is from Geordie Shore (MTV). Now, she's someone who has had a lot of work done. She's virtually unrecognisable from when she first appeared on TV.

I think if this man has indeed got photo sensitive psoriasis, then whomever has announced it on Twitter has done him no favours. Because now we have a doctor with a serious skin complaint, spending weeks in the sun, no hat or t shirt, and having to be told to get Higher factor sun screen. Not exactly smart.

But I'm not sure he does have it if I'm honest, the tweet just said "some people" and his skin looks fine, let's be honest we see enough of it, he just looks to be very, very far skinned and not able to take the sun, lots of people are like this, they just need to be careful with the sun tan lotion, which we know he wasn't.

For me the jury's still out. Either he's got it and he's been very lax on managing it, or he hasn't and he's just been a bit lax with the lotion.

This thread is getting tedious.

Pages now on looks, whether its weight, insinuating people aren't eating properly, cosmetic surgery, or now Alexs skin.

You don't need to join the thread if you don't like it, people are free to discuss what they wish. If you don't find it interesting it's best to move on, as opposed to telling them to stop and discuss what you wish.

His instagram is being run by his two best friends, isn't it? I think they were on the first Aftersun. One made a comment about knowing him his whole life so I'm sure it is true he has a skin condition. Not sure he wanted it announced to everyone but I can see his friends are just trying to defend him. They also said he hasn't had an easy life, perhaps making a reference to him being bullied about it.
