I'm going to leave this thread as some people are so insistent on discussing looks. It's a shame as I enjoyed reading people's opinions on the behaviour of the islanders but I find it so dull to discuss people's looks in so much detail.

Hope everyone enjoys the last couple of weeks of the island

The thing is that we only seem to comment on the looks of people who upset us for other reasons (I include myself in this, I only hate Alex' stupid red face because I dislike him so much!)

No one comments on Jack1 or Dani's looks, interestingly. It made me think. I think all my friends are lovely looking, but my DH says some of them aren't! I guess people's personalities really does affect how you view them looks wise. Interesting

So Alex dumped Alex with the hope he would couple with Laura2 but Jack2 ruined that for him and now he's gone back to Alex and she's ok with that?

Er... LI bases itself and promotes the whole thing on looks and appearance. They discuss it themselves on the show. Lots of us who are parents are fascinated and a bit worried about the extent of the cosmetic procedures and speculate on them.

My posts and most of the posts that have made me laugh on this thread mostly address both behaviour/personality as well as appearances for both sexes.

The perpetually offended really need to have the sticks from their arses removed.

I don't particularly care about the Islanders' delicate sensibilities but surely people can see that other people, with similar physical attributes, find some of the comments unpalatable, or worry about the real people in the receiving end.

It's not just Alex is it. We've had lots of age-related jokes about Laura1, criticism of Laura2's neck and waist, Charlie's blond eyelashes, Rosie looking 'dirty' etc. Not observations, just a nasty sort of mocking.

I'm not going to refer to it again as I really don't want to spoil the thread, but people defending the indefensible sound ridiculous to me. I can't get my head around arguing for nasty comments at all.

Personality flaws seem to make physical flaws more obvious!

I also quite like Alex1's body, and can appreciate Jack2's, although it's slightly too perfect. Oh and Paul's is nice and manly. Wes has a nice physique but I can't stand him.

My fave is definitely Jack1, I find him adorable and in comparison to some of the others, quite real (white teeth aside).

I just asked my 15yo who the hottest guy in LI is, and she said Jack1, without hesitation. She said he was cute when he first came in, but his personality has made him 100, and she wants a Jack of her own.

Not sure about the psoriasis. I've got some on my calf, I've not noticed any on Alex. If he is on medication that makes him sensitive to the sun all the more reason to stay out of it. Some meds cause rashes in the sun and some cause the skin to react more quickly and sensitively and speed up burning, so you have to take extra precautions.

I think his skin predicament is valid for discussion given he's a doctor.

I really don't think it is ever ok though to call someone a #vilepinkface given the recent events with Sophie Gordon I just think it's horrible . ok maybe he has put himself on reality tv but for me personally it doesn't give anyone the right to make such extreme comments on his appearance especially someone with 6.3million followers , if my daughter did that I would be horrified . I'm not an overly sensitive person I just can't see how anyone would think it's reasonable thing to do . Given he is not an axe murderer he hasn't actually done anything that bad . He told a girl he wasn't ready to be exclusive after few days and that was basically it i can't see why he deserves the angry mob .

I think Jack1 is gorgeous, the only bloke this series I would put above him would be Adam who I thought was physical perfection. Then I would probably go for Alex, I go pink in the sun as well Grin and I used to be on medication that made me more sensitive to the sun so I understand his struggle.

I don't think anyone on this thread does nor do I think that anyone is arguing in favour of nasty comments. In fact, I think posters whose comments have fallen on the wrong side of acceptable have been pulled up (for example, amongst others, ghetto girl was and so were comments about Laura2 looking dirty).

However, I do think that this is a show where it is entirely acceptable to discuss someone's looks. It's why they got their place on the show and it's what will keep them in the public eye. It's how our young people will judge them and it's what they'll want to emulate.

I wouldn't choose to go into the detail that some have, no, but I'm certainly not going to stop people talking about it.

I didn't really rate Adam. There was maybe a couple of moments I thought hmm he's not bad but most of the time I thought he was a bit meh.

I think personality matters quite a bit to me when finding someone attractive. If they're dicks, no matter how beautiful they might be, I can't see it.

The thing about a lot of these contestants is I find a lot of them look and act much older than they are.

My daughter has recently turned 21. I've met more of her friends than I can count and none of them look as old or act as mature as these contestants do.

Georgia looks her age without make up, and Dani is like an old head on young shoulders, but they are all so confident, self assured, and present as so much older than their years,

I don't think my daughter and her uni mates and old school friends are unusual. I think the kids on this show are in how they present themselves at such a young age. I get they are adults, but they are very very young adults, acting older than they are.
