Yes his behaviour towards Alexandra was horrible.
But even if the comments were about badly managed sunburn, they're still hurtful.
Unless you've got the sort of skin that basically bursts into flames every time a watery sun pops over the horizon, you've no idea.
All four of my dc are like this. They're all adults now but they still slather themselves in factor 50 in the sun, and have to use suncream all year round.
If there's no factor 50 to hand so they think they can get away with factor 30 for half an hour until they go inside, they burn.
If they lose track of time and forget to top up, they burn.
If they want to chat to someone who's sitting in the sun for a bit, and venture out of the shade, they burn.
At times they'll try to use a lower spf in the hope that 'a bit' of sun might miraculously lead to a slight tan or bit of even off-white colour but nope.
Sometimes they don't even burn but are red and flushed from just being in the sun, but it fades quickly.
I know there's bigger problems, but I really just only ever saw someone who burnt easily and was finding it a chore to manage. He's pink yes, he hadn't got the third degree burns he'd have by now if he wasn't applying suncream or was consistently applying the wrong one.
I agree he could cover up more, but hard when everyone else is prancing about in swimwear maybe.
I don't know. To me, it seems like such a small failing, and some of the jeering language has certainly been mean.
