If she gives birth before being rescued Serena will miss her stupid fake birth ceremony. That'll piss her off even more.

To me it looked like nick shot one of the other guards. Was he working with another guard in secret? He wouldn’t have gone without telling June what was happening.

Oh no for a minute I thought it was mayday coming to rescue them! Clearly not.

I hope that there's some cars in the garage next to the empty house.....maybe she can escape (clutching at straws....). Poor June, it's one heartbreak after another for her.

Jesus. I'm in shock after that episode. Horrific abuse. And June was amazing with Hannah. My heart physically hurt watching that, and I cried for the first time.

Fred set them up, he knows the baby isn't his so has nothing to lose.

God I actually cried at that tonight. Hadn’t thought about it being set up by Fred...

Sorry late to join the thread, but that has just broken me. I have a dd the same age as Hannah and found the first time they were separated unbearable. That was even worse. Sobbing is an understatement!

Chimi the Hannah and June scene was the first time I've cried too. Such raw emotion and exactly what any mother would do - hide their true feelings in order to make the child feel at ease. She was heartbroken and I was heartbroken but she wouldn't let Hannah know that.

And everyone will be told that nick and June ran away together. Serena will believe that because she knows the baby is nicks but doesn’t know that Fred knows.

Can someone help ? I can't find episode 10 on streaming . It should be up now shouldn't it if it's finished . I can't even see it on today's schedule . Using the channel 4 app on my iPhone .

I too thought Fred set it up. I also thought that Nick shot one of the guards. Hope he's not a gonner.

But doesn't Fred want the baby? I know he isn't as desperate as Serena but I just thought he would want it at this stage in his commandership or whatever...

That was fucking brutal the whole episode never seen an episode of TV like it, left me needing a fag.

Going back to the comments about the tape scene being gratuitous and unneccessary - I think I disagree.

It was horrific and raw and brutal, but I think sometimes looking away diminishes the impact IYSWIM. I think that in real life too people often look away from the brutal things that happen to women, because it's unpleasant. I sort of feel that we have to face these things head on rather than look away because they are upsetting. If people look away all of the time, then nobody feels, and nothing changes.

I think Fred always knew or at least suspected the baby was Nick's.

I have no idea wtf just happened. This is why binge viewing on Netflix is so much better, don't have to wait another week!

I thought Fred was playing nasty mind games.. Seeing hannah a tiny bit and then having to say goodbye was his idea to torture her but then thought he doesn't have emotional intelligence to think like that.
Thought then he genuinely thinks it a nice thing for her... Sick way of assuaging his guilt.

But now pp have punted out maybe he set them up so she and the baby disappear and he can claim nick ran off and helped them escape.. He doesn't want the baby, he knows it's not his and there was that interesting scene with the young commander whose wife is pregnant who implied the new commanders 1. Don't need handmaids and 2. Possibly didn't approve of the handmaids system.
