Kaz has been on the outside, she knows how popular Alex is, she has played the game very well and now she doesn't want the threat of Alex in a couple, because she knows her and Josh will have a good chance with their story arc.
Also has anyone seen the YouTube video by Kaz's brother, he sounds very posh!

I think the new girl (Alex3?) would be pretty stupid not to try with Alex, it's only 2 1/2 weeks you've gotta fake it for and with Alex she has a strong shot at the £50000. Idris she has no hope and will get voted off asap.

Agree, I think a lot of them now will have their eye on the prize.

I just can't see any other motivation for Laura and kaz to want the new girl coupled up with the new boy and not Alex, and yes kaz will know, and probably so will Laura, that Alex is popular, he is single and never in the bottom, and it's probably jacks motivation for staying with Laura.

One couple is going to get fifty grand in a couple of weeks...I guess it's focusing their minds.

I think Kaz will have blown it for a lot of people-Josh was in the bottom 3 last time and I would certainly vote for them as my least favourite couple now

Alex and Alex.,,top three couples if they seem to genuinely like each other due to Alexs popularity.
Idris and Alex., one of the bottom couples and fairly definite to be voted out first.

I agree kaz hasn't done them any favours here. It was her body language.

Surely a Dani and Jack must know that they are sitting pretty. They have never been in the bottom two or three. Josh has, so no likelyhood of him and Kaz winning and so has Megan, no likelihood of her and Wes winning.

I agree that for some couples their eye is firmly on the prize now as we go into the last few weeks. The game playing is becoming more transparent hence Meg making things official with Wes and Kaz trying to encourage Idris to go for Alexandra. All of the villa seemed surprised when Josh was in the bottom 3 boys and Kaz is trying to eliminate Dr Alex because of his underdog popularity. I think Laura knows that as time runs out she needs to be coupled up and any situation that potentially spoils this is activating her.

The Jack clip in Casa Amor and the public backlash because of upsetting Dani needlessly seems to have led to less screen time for Jack and Dani. I think that we will get to see more of them as the contestants get voted off as with theor likeability factor surely ITV2 can see the potential of a spin off show for them if they win.

Nobody knows what Kaz’s motivation was! Was she set up by the producers? Was she trying to protect herself and Josh? Was she just being nice to Idris? (Though after his shit-stirring with Laura and Jack I’d think they’d all give him a wide berth.)
Nobody knows, but Alexandra comes across as someone who can make up her mind without being influenced. I actually thought Idris came across as a bit of a tool in his chat with her. In fact, he comes across like that full stop. But maybe she will go for his smooth patter over awkward Alex. Bet she doesn’t though - there’s a huge incentive for new girls to couple with Alex at this stage in the process. He’s obviously popular with the public and massively popular with the other islanders. He’d keep her in till the end - two newbies coupling up would lead to a quick exit and she’d have to REALLY like Idris for that.

Not that any of them would. Any finalists can make £50,000 back quickly. They should up the prize money so that it's actually an option for those who aren't there for love and reveal the truth.

When do they stop sending newbies into the villa? I haven't seen any previous series of Love Island but surely with 2 weeks to go they are going to struggle to build popularity to win. Do they have a brutal cull of contestants in the last week/few days?

I'm not sure the prize is big enough to make it that attractive. They will earn much more with endorsements and Public appearances when they come out and they will know that from watching previous contestants. The longer they stay, the more time air time they will get though so think that will be a goal.
I think Olivia/Chris from last year got easily as much publicity as Kem/Amber, the winners.

I suppose making it to the final is what you need, olivia/Alex the previous year had lots of piblicity afterwards and kady McDermott (maybe more than cara/Nathan in the long run) but still Alex3 needs to couple up with alex to get through and Kaz and Josh will want to get to the final.

Montana had lots of publicity afterwards last year because of her personality but Kaz doesn't have that in the same way so if she wants to do well from love island she needs to come top 3.

I don't think anyone this year will do as well as people in the last 2 series apart from maybe Dani and Jack as I think their personalities aren't as strong as people like Montana, Olivia both years, Chris, Kady etc.
