Alex was the only one guaranteed of picking her. Wes she had no way to say which way he would jump and same with Sam. Alex she knew would pick her.

It makes no sense to say she genuinely wanted to give it a go then immediately on him picking her realised she didn't. She must have known she didn't fancy him.

Alex has not behaved well either, he's coming across as desperate now, but we can't absolve Ellie here. She's also not behaved well.

I think both of them need to go. Alex as it's very damaging now for his self esteem and reputation and Ellie because I'm not sure she can come back from it, It's girls pick next, so she's saved for another week, but I'd have to guess Alex is out because of it.

LittleMissSurrey · 26/06/2018 13:22

Hi Girls, sorry as I've not caught up with this thread so not sure if this has already been mentioned but I'm so confused with the Laura/Wes argument! He literally just said his turn offs and then laura said 'I'm not ignorant' but he hadn't said that! Am I going crazy or has it just been weirdly edited...?!

Moonkissedlegs · 26/06/2018 13:38

I also think if she were playing him she would have acted into him for a few days after recoupling and only then said it wasn’t working.

I agree.

Yes also to it being like a mum telling off her teenage son when Laura and Wes argue!

SoftBallSophie · 26/06/2018 13:39

Alex's reaction annoyed me when Sam told Alex that Ellie had asked him to back off because she was going to give Alex a chance.... Alex thanked Sam (as if Sam had made the decision) when in fact it was Ellie, he made out like Sam was doing such an honourable thing backing off, as if Ellie was his prize for the taking and didn't have her own free will.

Same thing when Ellie told Wes to back off, he scurried back to Laura and acted as if he had decided not to pursue things with Ellie after all because he realised his feelings for Laura all along....

AliasGrape · 26/06/2018 13:42

@LittleMissSurrey No you’re right, I didn’t get that at all, like he said his turn offs were arrogance and ignorance and she immediately went to ‘how am I ignorant’? Which was not what the question was, but then he did say ‘I’ll tell you later’ rather than ‘no, you’re not, I’m just saying what my turn offs would be as per the question’ so maybe a key comment was edited out. Or I’m wondering if he sort of gave her a look or gestured to her as if to say ‘like you’ and the cameras missed it.

I can also see ignorant to be used to mean similar to arrogant as pps were questioning earlier - might not be strict dictionary definition but I’ve heard the usage of ‘argh he’s so bloody ignorant’ to mean he doesn’t listen/isn’t interested in hearing what anyone else has to say. Was Wes implying that Laura was ignorant because she hadn’t remembered where he was born?

Also Stafford and Stratford don’t sound that dissimilar? And they’re not quite, as Jack or whoever said, opposite ends of the country.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 13:48

Incel - hardly. Is this the new 'narcissist' to be bandied about by armchair psychologists everywhere now?

👍🏻

Ishouldntbesolucky · 26/06/2018 13:48

I'm increasingly thinking it's so hard to tell what's going on. It's clearly been so heavily edited. I thought it was interesting that on Aftersun Rosie mentioned how she and Adam had conversations about meeting each other's families etc. None of that side of their relationship came across from just watching the programme. Plus, she said it was about 45mins between Adam ending it with her and kissing Zara. From watching LI you got the impression that he walked straight up to Zara after dumping Rosie.

We're only seeing the side the producers want us to see.

BlancheM · 26/06/2018 13:48

Yy, Soft I picked up on that aswell. It reminded me of all the horrible guys on Towie who go around giving each other permission to date the women as if the women themselves don't have much of a say in it.

QueenOfMyWorld · 26/06/2018 13:50

So jacks ex is going in to try and split them up apparently? Since when was it ex on the beach? Jack will not sway from Dani they are made for each other

Moonkissedlegs · 26/06/2018 13:51

Yeah I didn't get why Wes was so annoyed about the Stafford/Stratford thing, they are really close, just north and south of Birmingham, and they sound similar. Jeez...

ISpeakJive · 26/06/2018 13:54

The whole world and his auntie could see that Ellie just did not fancy Alex from the first instance. So, she was playing the game very well. What she should’ve done is taken him aside a few days in and say ‘You’re a nice guy, blah blah, not feeling it etc’ and then pursued someone else. Not get to re-coupling stage, engineer it so she gets chosen and then decides ‘Sorry, not feeling it’.
She really could’ve turned the flirting on with Sam and taken it from there. She just knew Alex was a sure thing and so did the viewers.

Having said that, I don’t blame her for not liking Alex because he’s a bit of a patronising twat.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 13:56

Jack has lots of ex girlfriends. His boss/friends has been telling tales and Jack himself has admitted it. Don’t think that'll please Dani - or the sainted dad. Lol

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 13:56

*boss/friend

ISpeakJive · 26/06/2018 13:57

We're only seeing the side the producers want us to see

....and this with a cherry on top. I’m so sure they are editing the hell out of Wes and Laura. Yes, she does come across as very childish and needy but she did say to the camera that he’s really horrible sometimes. We don’t see that side of it.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 13:59

I am liking the Samira & Sam thing.

ChampooPapi · 26/06/2018 14:09

Got to say, Love this thread.

Can we please just remember the genius that was 'Eel' for 'Eyal'?!

Adam repels me so much and actually has done since the beginning, when he first walked in I thought 'yuk, he's a man child if ever I saw one'. Zara is baffling

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 14:10

Yes, editing can really skew things for the public. Agree we haven’t seen Wes being horrible to Laura but judging by her reaction I'm inclined to believe her. The ignorant thing may just be an instance. Hmmmm

ninetiesrnb · 26/06/2018 14:11

Alex & Ellie were always doomed. From the moment she complained about their first kiss. I mean REALLY? Who actually does that. She was defo watching from home & figured out her "meal ticket". I like Sam & Sam but not convinced - yet. She's being given the attention she's been craving for weeks...but I'm rooting for them.
I also wish there were some size 10 and above girls in there too. Perhaps a bit of ethnic diversity wouldn't go amiss either. Might be a bit tricky for larger lads to be sexy. I know the girls wouldn't pick them unfortunately. Darn double standards!

TatianaLarina · 26/06/2018 14:13

Alex was the only one guaranteed of picking her

There were no guarantees at all, it was quite possible that he would pick Samira, he was quite torn and Samira certainly tried to turn him off Ellie in her favour, so no it could have gone either way.

And she didn’t say she genuinely wanted to give it a go, she give it a chance to see if it would get less awkward and ‘robotic’, which it did not.

ChampooPapi · 26/06/2018 14:14

Wes is a no, but I am keen to know his next move of course!

TatianaLarina · 26/06/2018 14:15

What she should’ve done is taken him aside a few days in and say ‘You’re a nice guy, blah blah, not feeling it etc’ and then pursued someone else

Which is what she would have done if she were playing a game.

TatianaLarina · 26/06/2018 14:17

From the moment she complained about their first kiss. I mean REALLY? Who actually does that

Who, at the age of 27, goes in for a random awkward kiss, coached by a bunch of mates? One of the cringiest things I’ve ever seen.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 14:17

Some online chatter...

One commented: "IF Adam is 22 and has slept with 200 people then that means he's taken a girl home almost EVERY weekend since he was 18 yrs old inc Christmas holidays aka FAMILY TIME despite his s* personality. In this essay, I will outline why this is complete bulls*.. #loveisland."

RoseWhiteTips · 26/06/2018 14:19

Jack is a larger lad in there!

🤣

ChampooPapi · 26/06/2018 14:26

This apparent sleeping with 200 women from Adam is very like the sort of thing an adolescent would say/think was the sort of number that would make them seem 'a stud', without actually attempting to do the maths or even make up a believable number.

Would love it if Adam actually was a 40 year old virgin, now that would be a twist
