Am getting so addicted!

DHs contribution to tonight:

Zara looks like Jet from Gladiators.

YES!

RainySeptember · 25/06/2018 22:31

I'd vote Megan off for being annoyingly prim - 'my parents will see this' - when she's online oiling her boobs while bouncing suggestively on an inflatable duck.

And Eyal for talking about auras and other new age shit.

And Ellie for being horrible to Alex, who seems genuinely nice.

Twogirlsandme · 25/06/2018 22:31

I think they are saving the ex until the time is right!

charlyn · 25/06/2018 22:32

I can see both sides, it’s not Ellie’s fault she doesn’t fancy him and I can see why she might be put off by how serious he acts. However she did give Alex the impression she was interested and was open to seeing where things went then as soon as recoupling was done she had gone off him. Shes also made things awkward by not talking to him sooner and being honest with him.
Really did not see Megan liking Wes!

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 22:34

I don't know about Alex and Ellie. I can see where he is coming from, but there was a lot pressure on Ellie to get with Alex, and she had to retreat from Wes to stop beef there, even though its obvious she likes him.

I agree that Alex has incel vibes about him.

I call bullshit on Adam's 200. Its like he has picked an arbitrary high number that makes it sound like he is a gun, but has forgotten the fact that he is only 22, and has apparently had relationships in that time as well, making it almost impossible to have got through that many women.

Mind you, if he shags like he kisses then no wonder they have all been one night stands.

Patienceisvirtuous · 25/06/2018 22:35

Ellie really did mislead Alex to get herself through recoupling. She was awful during that argument.

She reminds me of Jill Halfpenny.

Yamayo · 25/06/2018 22:35

Seriously I can't see how Alex is nice.
He's utterly self-obsessed and v patronising to the girls. The way he talks about his 'buddy' Samira... awful.

He was really trying to lay into Ellie who (gasp) just doesn't fancy him. I thought she came across quite well and stood her ground.

bbpp · 25/06/2018 22:35

She did say she was interested and wanted to get to know him, and I believe it. But I also understand that once you're in that position - and being in bed with someone is quite a 'push' for the relationship - why you might go "Oh crap no I've messed up!"

She's been respectful and honest and considerate of everyone's feelings

RainySeptember · 25/06/2018 22:35

bbpp, I didn't get the impression alex was annoyed that Ellie wouldn't 'do bits' at all, thought he was referring to the fact that she hasn't spoken to him, gives him the cold shoulder, made her disinterest clear within hours of the recoupling. It's interesting how people interpret situations differently I think.

Yamayo · 25/06/2018 22:37

Mind you, if he shags like he kisses then no wonder they have all been one night stands.

Grin

Yes indeed. I am still scarred by that slimy kiss.

bbpp · 25/06/2018 22:38

Yeah sure! He did say "You get in bed and then you roll over, what do you expect is going to happen? It's going to be awkward" though, which I think it quite a lot of pressure on someone who has openly said she's not sure but is interested and wants to give him a chance. Why does he expect her to be all over him straight away?

TheDishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 25/06/2018 22:40

If Adam has really slept with 200 people at 22, that's 1 a week since he was 18! And thats assuming there are no girlfriends/fwb etc. How? Does he never sleep in his own bed? Let's hope he regularly changed his sheets Envy I call bs

RainySeptember · 25/06/2018 22:40

I agree Alex is self obsessed, they all are, they wouldn't be on there if they weren't imo.

I'm not sure about patronising. I think it must be hard not to patronise some of them considering how utterly thick they are. I don't know how you could have a respectful disagreement with someone who thinks Brexit is about cutting down trees, for example. Just by knowing more, stating your case, not backing down because you are actually right, you can come across as irritating I think.

Bluntness100 · 25/06/2018 22:41

I do think Ellie has played alexs, she would absolutely have known when telling him she wanted to couple with him that she didn't fancy him at all and it was never going to happen. I don't believe for one moment that she suddenly realised it straight after coupling with him and up until that moment thought she did fancy him.

I'm surprised anyone is buying that to be honest, I get why Alex is calling her out on it, but it's pointless.

Megan going after wes though I didn't see coming,,,

Yamayo · 25/06/2018 22:41

But she didn't totally ignore him. They had the brunch, the festival task thing.
Rest of the time Alex was too busy talking about himself to his pals so you could argue it goes both ways.

Just like with Rosie and Adam all the blame is automatically placed on the girl in the couple.

By the way that Megan/Eyal rift is bizarrely edited.
One minute they're all over each other and she's telling the girls how much she fancies him, the next it's been a long time coming and it's too hard... WTF?

RainySeptember · 25/06/2018 22:42

bbpp, oh I see, I interpreted that as her rolling over and not saying goodnight or speaking to him, just making it really clear that she had no intention of getting to know him.

Yamayo · 25/06/2018 22:43

Kendall was pressured, Hayley was pressured, Ellie is being pressured...
The only girl who hasn't been is Sam because no one fancies her!

RainySeptember · 25/06/2018 22:45

Alex was too busy talking about himself to his pals

Surely they all do that, talk to their pals about their own situation?

That, and the editing.

Moonkissedlegs · 25/06/2018 22:47

I think Ellie wanted to like Alex. Why would she plan to recouple and then make herself look like a total bitch by just ditching him, leaving her with no one?

There was so much pressure on her to get with him, both from inside and she knows how the public like him and were rooting for him. I think she thought that he was not really her type but you never know, and kissed him (again looked on by everyone else) and then realised that it probably was going nowhere. So maybe she did lead him on a bit after that for the recoupling, but I think the situation just got a bit out of control.

Twogirlsandme · 25/06/2018 22:48

It is interesting how we are all watching the same programme and have totally different views on the Ellie/Alex debarcle

OnlyBaBaBiss · 25/06/2018 22:52

Well Megan’s interest in Wes came from nowhere didn’t it - that’s really surprised me

But I’m glad all the couples are mixing and matching a bit now, I think that’s why it’s been boring, everyone (besides Adam) has just stuck with one person right from the beginning- there had been a lot more double dipping going on by now in the other series hadn’t there

bbpp · 25/06/2018 22:54

I think the DBS has effected my view. We know Jack is jokingly annoyed about not being part and obviously Alex isn't either and has been rejected a lot. And then when he was asked about if they'd done anything in the morning he seemed quite annoyed? That's why I thought he was being quite entitled thinking that now he had a 'romantic' relationship - even though she had made clear it's very touch & go - he was annoyed he wasn't kissed and cuddled. She didn't want to once it came down to it, probably recognised the 'awkwardness' Alex said was inevitable and ignored afterwards. But, only for a few hours. Love Island moves so quickly.

Sorry. I've really gone off Alex Grin

PrincessScarlett · 25/06/2018 22:55

All the people on the villa are to blame for Alex and Ellie. When Ellie came in Alex decided he wanted her so everyone pushed her to like him and she wasn't really able to develop anything with anyone else. By the time Wes showed an interest everyone had bigged Alex up to god like status and I think she felt safe opting for Alex over Wes. As the new girl she didn't want to ruffle any feathers with the other girls.

Mookie81 · 25/06/2018 22:57

Alex seems insidious to me.
Never really liked him, too simpering, but now he seems like a right nob jockey.

Pinook · 25/06/2018 23:00

Am I right in the Mr & Mrs Game the question to the girls that caused the fracas between Wes and Laura was ‘what does the boy you are not coupled up with not like in a girl’, not ‘what does he not like in the person he is coupled up with? So Wes made it personal by saying this was a fault in Laura not just a general dislike? I can see why Laura was hurt by him making it personal.

( I am putting aside that it sounds like Wes doesn’t understand the definition of ignorant if he says it’s the same as arrogant, unless he means ignorant as in rude)
