Ellie could have jumped to Sam for the recoupling if she’d wanted just to stay in. She didn’t have to put Sam off choosing her. I think she was his first choice and if she hadn’t told him she was wanted to give Alex a short he would have picked her. She was very honest with Alex that day that they should see where it went when there was less pressure on them.

At that point I think she didn’t know if it was awkward because he was trying too hard and it was all very forced or whether it just didn’t work. But I think she came to the conclusion soon after the recoupling, when they had had more relaxed conversations, that no, it just didn’t work.

Probably because he’s a patronising, entitled, pompous, inept twatt.

I don’t think Samira fancies Sam at all in fact she is can be quite rude to him.

I think Dani and jack is totally fake. I reckon jack knew (as all of us did) that Dani was going in and so already had his game plan in place. She is not into him at all. I get that she is trying to behave with integrity cos of her dad (who has always displayed perfect behaviour himself eh? ) but she’s on a dating show for goodness sake! The whole thing is just a springboard to get her ‘out there’.

The preview looked like Alex was saying Ellie was behaving like Hayley. Whether she has or he knows it’s not a popular way to act in there for viewers and islanders we’ll have to wait and see.

I’m on the fence about Alex. Adam kissing makes him from arrogant/manipulative but still good looking to a gross all round to me.

Everyone else I like atm but give it another week lol.

Did anyone else think Samira was quite rude during that task? She seems to act quite ‘matey’ with guys that she apparently likes which I think can put them off.

I think Ellie genuinely wanted to like Alex and give him a chance but just doesn’t fancy him and I don’t blame her for finding him a bit forced and awkward.

I actually like Georgia and Josh and think they seem sweet together and I’m to each other.

Yy to samara being rude to Sam. She was rude to him after the task, I think she is quite competitive. But she’s also generally slightly rude to him and I can’t work out whether it’s because she just doesn’t fancy him and wants to make that clear, or if she is just quite rude naturally .

I think samira is the type who thinks flirting is the same as teasing/picking on someone xD she seems like an annoying teenage boy who's picking on his crush thinking thats the way to win her over. All the mean-ish comments and the elbowing.

I don't know about Dani and Jack, I think it could be genuine. I do agree that this is absolutely a springboard for her TV career, which could be another reason for her not wanting to do anything too controversial. Maybe Dani went in there thinking that she wouldn't really find anyone she really liked, so it would be easy enough not to get too carried away with anything. She has said a couple of really sweet things about Jack that didn't seemed forced (like when she said she wished all the boys were like Jack).

I think they selected her quite early on and then selected Jack as a match for her. They are so similar, both very Essexy and both quite fun loving. But yes, sometimes it does seem a bit more like friends. Time will tell once they leave I guess.

If Jack's ex comes in now I don't think it would make any difference to anything, he is far too into Dani. Unless the ex starting really slagging Jack off to Dani and ruined their relationship that way.

It does feel like Samira's treatment of guys is a defence mechanism rather than rudeness. She doesn't try to manipulate people, she is just out and out rude to them ('I hate you'!) and it does just seem defensive. Like the elbowing after the kiss as well. I hope it doesn't put Sam off. I actually quite like Sam, such a shame about the brows!

'The Nation' s Sweetheart' might be pushing it a bit, but he is certainly highly favoured on social media with all the tweets and memes rooting for him to find a woman.

I think Samira’s joshing is a defence mechanism. Brows or not, I like Sam. 🙂

Well Samira acts how I act around someone when I like them. Teasing/ banter is my way of flirting. But that’s my personality type, I’m like it around friends too.

I’m not sure how people are wanting her to act? All simpery and doey eyed?! Maybe if you’re 12!

I don’t think Ellie has ever been overtly interested in Alex TBH. Maybe thought he was okay looking, nice to her and a Dr so thought she’d give it a go but deep down I don’t ever think she thought it would work. There’s just 0 real chemistry there.

Tbh I’m not overly keen on any of them this year. I like Dani and Jack but I’m just not convinced she likes him as much as she claims. Sometimes when he kisses her, she looks like she’s cringing, but that could just be the way she kisses, lol. She also did say at the beginning that she didn’t like him in a romantic way and just wanted to be friends, then changed her mind when the 2 new girls came in. I dunno, I’m just not convinced. But either way they do both seem like nice people and good together.

Laura is over 25 and under 30 just like Josh, Alex, Rosie and Kendall. Don't get why pple keep harping on about her age.

I think because she looks much older than 29, she's beautiful but could easily pass as mid to late 30s imo. Plus there quite a few 20-year-olds in there so pretty much a decade between them which does make quite a difference. Her own coupling is with a 20yo so the age difference is going to be a talking point.
It is true though that a lot of the other islanders are pretty much the same age as her

There's a difference between banter and insults.

I have to agree that it's hard to credit Laura is almost 30. I don't think Roersie (sic) acted 26 either. Alex seems to be lodged in teenage years wrt women.

I think it's because she is the oldest in there, the others are 26/27 but she is the only one in that age group talking about sex like a teenager, about wes's moves, his penis size etc. The others do talk about sex but much more maturely. In fact pretty much Rosie is the only one to go there conversation wise in that group and even she handled it more sensitively.

Laura acts even more immaturely than wes, and he's only 20. His do bits society is riduclous but you don't hear him harping on about intimate details about Laura's body or how she behaves sexually.

Definitely think that Samira’s ‘rudeness ‘ is a defence mechanism. It’s probably her way of flirting. She’s a rubbish flirt though.
