What a boring and completely unrealistic episode.

The whole Louise performing a tracheostomy saga was almost laughable. It would just never happen!!

thecraftyfox · 05/11/2018 06:26

The staffing of Holby/Casualty just gets weirder. I mean I know maternity units are often short staffed but not a midwife in sight and a nurse on secondment telling a woman who isn't in labour and might be induced that she is nil by mouth until the baby is out. Wtf. Jade appears to be the worst nurse ever or midwife. Or a student. She also had bloody awful posture.

SoupDragon · 05/11/2018 07:06

I assume Louise was told to say that by the consultant. There was mention of needing to do a c-section because of her heart/blood pressure issues.

SoupDragon · 05/11/2018 07:07

It was all a bit weird though. Why would she go do a stint on maternity anyway? Is that really relevant to A&E?

Miscible · 05/11/2018 07:15

They do seem to deliver babies fairly regularly in A&E, so I guess it is relevant.

Miscible · 05/11/2018 07:16

The lady who had the baby, none of her family seem shocked that she had her throat cut open?!?

By that stage they'd had more than enough time to explain that to the family. I really don't think we need that sort of thing painstakingly spelt out for us.

Optimist1 · 05/11/2018 07:26

WRT to the oddness of the episode, I felt that someone had written it as "3 minutes of Louise in maternity, cut to 3 minutes of Gemma/Rash giving each other fond looks, cut to 3 minutes of Ian on the brink of despair, cut to 3 minutes ..." .

alwayswingingit · 05/11/2018 12:37

I suppose we don't, I agree, but I just didn't like the episode and I know it is only a drama and usually unrealistic, but the last episode felt far beyond belief for me.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2018 14:12

Confused about the preg day

Was she giving her dd to her daughter?

Or was it her baby /surragote

WAs it not on sat 11?

And glad Ian’s very getting help

SoupDragon · 13/11/2018 15:26

She was having the baby for her sister and brother in law. They never said whether it was biologically hers or not.

There was a Remembrance Day concert on Saturday night so Casualty Was bumped..

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2018 17:24

Oh thanks
@soup

Must have missed that bit

SoupDragon · 13/11/2018 18:43

To be fair, It was kind of vague for most of the episode.

JustDanceAddict · 17/11/2018 22:20

Dylan - noooo!!

Optimist1 · 17/11/2018 22:55
Shock
Miscible · 18/11/2018 10:06

New nurse looks pretty annoying.

HellenaHandbasket · 18/11/2018 10:48

I real really really hope they're ok...

AlasEarwax · 24/11/2018 23:25

Really??? They've been through so much to be together, then she decides that actually she's gonna leave without Dylan and her amazingly fluffy dog? Do get me wrong, I'm so glad that Dylan isn't dead/leaving, but I was hoping for a happy ending. Sulks.

SoupDragon · 25/11/2018 00:01

She's right though. She needs time alone to sort herself out. She'll be back for Bacchus.

purpleme12 · 25/11/2018 01:23

It does feel right but at the same time like all the storyline was for nothing

StripySocksAndDocs · 25/11/2018 08:56

Didn't Dervla used to go to a doggy day care place? When did Dylan start leaving him on the boat alone.

Don't like the new nurses. The female one especially (name escapes me!).

Where the hell did that copy of Fifty Shades come from and what was the symbolism? Neither would be reading that tripe.

And did Ciara ask about Dylan's head injury? Not even once.

StripySocksAndDocs · 25/11/2018 09:10

Thought that too. Very odd choice of book.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 25/11/2018 09:12

Maybe it made her realise she didn't want to be 'tied' to Dylan.

Miscible · 25/11/2018 09:34

Charity shops have stacks of copies of 50 Shades because people buy it out of curiosity, realise it's a pile of crap and want to get rid of it. I'd be amazed if many people lovingly display it on their bookshelves.

I'm bored to sobs with Ian's current storyline. I guess it's building up to some mega crisis with Mia's idiot boyfriend, but I simply can't bring myself to care.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/11/2018 09:39

That was quite a bizarre episode. Things that were odd:

Ciara showing no concern for Dylan's well-being at all. For the entire episode, her ONLY concern was for herself - what was going to happen to her, where she should go, who was going to look after her, why wasn't Dylan coming to her...

I was glad that she left, though. She would have destroyed Dylan with her neediness and her baggage.

Nobody noticing that Dylan had concussion before he spewed in the corridor. The guy had a head injury, FFS.

The way that New Nurse (Male) nearly DIED in that cupboard - people do die from asthma attacks - and yet by the end, he and New Nurse (Female) were all ha ha ha wasn't it funny when I nearly killed you. If I had done that to someone, I would be beside myself with horror and guilt and mortification, yet she was completely untroubled. Are we meant to be liking her as a character? Because I can't bear how useless, how reckless, how lazy, how pleased with herself she is!
