I agree. The song wasn't funny it was a bit awkward and felt flat by the end of his act.

IrmaFayLear · 04/06/2018 14:34

If I were Micky Kerr I'd retire to Mars I'd be so embarrassed. How do some people imagine they are funny?! They must be surrounded by very supportive people.

NearLifeExperience · 04/06/2018 14:46

There were quite a few really dire comedians who made it to the semis though... maybe they were just there to make LVG and Robert White (who are good comedians) look even better.

It'll be a shame if RW really does give up comedy for teaching.

MrsJayy · 04/06/2018 14:48

Lvg is going on tour it is called inspirational porn Grin I am going tontry and see him at the Edinburgh festival

Creambun2 · 04/06/2018 14:53

Micky Kerr should focus on his junior school class!

Piggywaspushed · 04/06/2018 17:39

I do wonder how LVG will manage big arenas going forward. He obviously has to pre programme so can't use comedy timing and pauses for effect. There were times in the final where I missed a punchline because of Amanda's raucous laughing because of audience noise. I think he is better for the small venue. Robert White, however, ad libs and has the ability to hold a big audience , I think. They are both good but for different types of show.

84CharingCrossRoad · 04/06/2018 18:14

Robert White

@robertwhitejoke

Hi @TheSun thanks for the nice things you said, but I didn't snub @davidwalliams I just didn't notice, and I would have loved a hug. You know social awareness and autism and that stuff. No hard feelings though, I love your paper! It's so absorbent and flushes really well :-)

Just seen this tweet!! Grin

I don't think LVG won by sympathy vote. As someone registered blind if I get an entertainment career will it just be out of sympathy?

How about my friend who is blind who gigs over the NW - is he getting a sympathy vote?

It's cool to say he's not your cup of tea or his type of humour you don't like. But to automatically assume he got a sympathy vote suggests to me a bit of disability there.

I and all other disabled people do not need sympathy. Empathy for hardships sure and genuine questions without malice are often welcomed but to say he has no talent at all is harsh.

Because let's face it comedy is art and art can't be done wrong, only liked or dislikes.

I find it refreshing he can laugh at his condition - tells you the type of person he is and how he wants to 'own' his condition.

I've made several blind jokes to my family and they laugh because they see that I am not upset by it. The only thing that gets in the way of my husband and I's world is lack of sight and those around us with lack of insight.

I liked Robert too and my VI and autistic friend loved him too - he loves the blunt humour himself. I've asked him if he will apply next time and he says he'll think about it Smile

MrsJayy · 04/06/2018 19:10

Holdens cackilings got right on my wick she just does it for attention

NearLifeExperience · 04/06/2018 19:12

NotAnother Exactly.
I wonder if those saying "disability card" and "sympathy vote" think Stevie Wonder, Andrea Bocelli, Stephen Hawking, Ray Charles and Beethoven became famous through the sympathy vote/disability card.

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 04/06/2018 19:53

@NearLifeExperience Exactly and in a fair few of their day and age disability was a stigma. So hardly likely to illicit sympathy.

trumpdump · 04/06/2018 20:19

LVG has been touring/ writing for a few years now. I doubt he's lasted this long on the "sympathy vote".

Petalflowers · 04/06/2018 21:25

I didn’t think LVG was funny either. Was surprised B Positive was last as I thought they were one of the stronger acts on the nights.

Interesting to see the voting figures,

NearLifeExperience · 04/06/2018 22:19

Did anyone else think that the Giang Brother on the left (who did the lifting) was just so perfect and beautiful that he looked like he was manufactured, or created in a lab? Stunning looking man. His brother was not so beautiful, but much more smiley.

Think perimenopause is making my hormones go haywire.

Creambun2 · 04/06/2018 22:42

I think people want anything different. I'm sick of choirs, singers, magicians who do poor close up magic at the judges desk and especially young urban dance crews.

IslaBoots · 04/06/2018 22:59

I didn't think any of the acts were worthy of the final tbh. I thought LVG and RW were both much better in the previous rounds.

The brothers did the same thing 3 times. Ok they stepped it up a notch each time but if they were to put on their own shows would we have to spend 2 hours watching one walking around with his brother balanced on his head? Great viewing for 4 minutes the first time round but not compulsive viewing for any length of time.

The diversity dancers were well... diversity. We already have Diversity. We don't need another one.

The father and son sung the same song as their audition.

Callum appeared to be extremely confident in the final. I thought his song was heaps better than his semi final song. I'm sure he will 'make it' when the time is right. He's not ready for it yet.

Gruffydd was probably the best talent but didn't get the votes because viewers seem to not like singers on BGT.

The wiggly man... he'll probably get his song played over and over in Ibiza this summer.

The comedian who sang the arrogant song....absolute rubbish!

Can't remember any others.

I think BGT has run it's course.....

theliverpoolone · 04/06/2018 23:09

Just looked at the voting figures, and Gruffyd got exactly the same as the wiggle guy (11.2%), yet the wiggle guy was credited as 3rd. There must have been a miniscule 'point 0-something' difference. Wish I'd voted for him (Gruffyd) now - that one extra vote might have given him 3rd place!

IslaBoots · 05/06/2018 00:39

I have also just looked at the voting result. I didn't vote for anyone. Wish I had voted for Gruffydd now too

Petalflowers · 05/06/2018 01:07

I was amazed by the brothers the first time, but got bored by the second. In the final, the one doing the lifting looked in agony.

84CharingCrossRoad · 06/06/2018 19:25

Now watching the second episode of Ireland's Got Talent. DVO and Louis Walsh are two of the judges!!!

OP posts:
Petalflowers · 06/06/2018 20:53

I caught the end of that, and managed to miss Louis golden buzzer act, but heard all the gushing.

Not sure what Louis is on, but he seemed to look younger and younger.

84CharingCrossRoad · 06/06/2018 22:12

Wasn't Louis it was DVO....

TheLastMermaid · 07/06/2018 00:13

People saying how some acts got the same amount of votes - the percentage plus point something - eg 17.2% - might be the same but it's unlikely they received the exact same number of votes. Do you know how many thousands of votes are recorded? It's pretty straightforward to work out who goes through.

iheartmichellemallon · 07/06/2018 18:23

What channel is Ireland's Got Talent on?
