I don't think LVG got the sympathy vote at all. I found him by far the funniest of the comedians on tonight. I didn't think Robert was as good today as his previous acts.

SESthebrave · 03/06/2018 22:25

How amazing to have 2 comedians in the top 2 when a comedian has never won before! Loved them both because they both made me properly laugh but LVG edged it for me. Looking forward to his performance at the Royal Variety Performance.

CadyHeron · 03/06/2018 22:26

Really pleased LVG won, he was genuinely funny.

SESthebrave · 03/06/2018 22:28

For all of you saying that LVG got the sympathy vote, I completely disagree. Loads of people have posted on here this evening that they voted for him (me included) and all of us because he was originally and genuinely funny. No sympathy votes.

TwinkleWilf996 · 03/06/2018 22:34

I would like to be honest with you. I don’t really like Robert White I know he is autistic but I not keen of his jokes as his jokes got too far. that what I am honest to tell you. I not being rude or being bad but I want to be honest I hope you agree with my honesty.

trumptrump · 03/06/2018 22:43

Humor is subjective, of course. Personally, I found LVG hilarious.

I voted for Giang Brothers, but I am happy for LVG.

There are some oddly bitter people on here. It is just a talent show remember. Smile

JuicySwan · 03/06/2018 22:46

I think LVG is lovely (has anyone else noticed what amazing eyes he’s got?) but he just isn’t as funny or talented as Robert.

His jokes are pre-programmed. Yes yes I know they have to be but it does mean that he just has to stand there. No real comic timing necessary. He doesn’t have to deliver his lines.

There’s far more to Robert’s act. I would pay to see him perform. Not so LVG.

TwinkleWilf996 · 03/06/2018 22:46

@MrsTommyBanks I am doing the blood donating and I will do this I will think of you xxxx love you xxxxx

JuicySwan · 03/06/2018 22:47

.....oh and I know I’m late to the party but can someone send me the pms that were going round on the previous thread please?? 😁

TheLastMermaid · 03/06/2018 22:50

I HAVE paid to see LVG and would again. I think he's really funny and genuinely likeable.

I don't feel sorry for him. Nor do I think would he want anyone to. No sympathy vote here.

84CharingCrossRoad · 03/06/2018 22:53

Tylerdog doesn't care who won!!! Wink

Do anyone agree what I wrote about the lost voice guy? If you didn’t see then I write.

So one of the ladies on mumsnet was being rude about the lost voice guy. I told her off and this what I wrote I hope you strongly agree with my message.

@WindyBee

I am so happy and pleased that Lost Voice Guy have won!!!!!!! I been watching him and I been really admired him as his story made me think of other people who couldn’t speak and relies on their iPad and communicate using sign language like as BSL and Makaton. My group is for children with Downs Syndrome some of them has difficulties communicating so they use makaton and I communicate with them using sign language no matters me being deaf it’s doesnt affect me as I am deaf and I has experienced like him as I can use sign language and I find it’s hard to lipread so I relies on my iPad that has helped me without my iPad it’s will be very difficult for me to communicate and my confidence have grown thanks to my iPad.

shame on you for being rude about him!!!!!!!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/06/2018 23:14

Do anyone agree what I wrote about the lost voice guy?
Yep Wilf, LVG was just out and out funny, regardless. Your critique of Robert is valid because, well, ‘art’ is subjective and you didn’t find Robert funny, that’s valid. The particular PP you mention wasn’t doing that though were they? No point in engaging with PPs like that. They picked the wrong thread to spout that nonsense though didn’t they Grin! PS always nice to hear from you Wilf!

MrsJayy · 03/06/2018 23:18

Och I am really happy lost guy won I honestly think he is hilarious of course he delivers his lines you can see he is engaging with the audience. I did think the Giang brothers deserved to be in the final 3.

MrsJayy · 03/06/2018 23:35

I think Mikey Kerr let himself down tonight his arrogant song wasn't that funny I really liked him before but tonight was really awkward.

JuicySwan · 03/06/2018 23:36

I agree Mrs Jayy it was uncomfortable to watch.

Piggywaspushed · 04/06/2018 07:10

The sympathy card is only 'played' if a) something hasn't been previously known about something and they pull it out when things are not going their way (teachers are very familiar with this tactic!!) or b) someone is not very talented but expect support/ adulation nonetheless and harps on about something really rather trivial

Neither of the above apply to LVG or Robert , both born into conditions which they are overcoming proudly and not hiding themselves away as society might often demand.

I think they are both great.

NearLifeExperience · 04/06/2018 08:22

His jokes are pre-programmed. Yes yes I know they have to be but it does mean that he just has to stand there. No real comic timing necessary. He doesn’t have to deliver his lines

"His jokes are preprogrammed" . He writes the jokes himself! That's the hardest part. He'll practise them, try them out and adapt them. He has to choose what to say and when, by gauging the reaction, having considered all the possibilities beforehand, including ditching sequences that aren't working and having responses to possible hecklers. It's silly that you should imply that it's somehow easier for him.

And as for the "disabled card" poster... do you think disabled people can't actually have real talent?

raisedbyguineapigs · 04/06/2018 08:33

COmedians write their own jokes ( sometimes) and memorise them to deliver on the day. They dont just come up with them on the spot. LVG's jokes are hilarious. I bet he has to programme a few more in that he uses, as PP said, he gauges the audience and chooses the appropriate joke, just as other comedians have a repertoire of gags.

mocha70 · 04/06/2018 09:04

How did Mikey get to the final? He didn't make me laugh at all.

BirthdayKake · 04/06/2018 09:05

Because you're not the only person that watched BGT, mocha?

TacoLover · 04/06/2018 09:10

Robert was so much funnier than LVG Sad I was really rooting for him. The singing about 'your son will come out tomorrow' made me cry of laughterGrin

B positive and the Giang brothers were robbed.

mocha70 · 04/06/2018 09:31

BirthdayKake - Did you find Mikey funny last night? I would genuinely like to know what was supposed to be funny about that "arrogant" song?

Hillingdon · 04/06/2018 09:44

Sorry, I agree with some others. LVG wasn't funny. He has certainly overcome his disabilities and made them work in a way that is just fab but IMHO he wasn't the winner.

I think lots of people did give him the sympathy vote.

MrsJayy · 04/06/2018 09:54

This is all kinds of patronising
