Strike is back tonight at 9pm. I loved the book, I can't wait! Tom and Holliday don't hurt either Grin

Who else'll be watching?

Pool-playing sister is the security guard in TrolliedSmile
The actors playing the two main characters make it very watchable but I've already given up on the plot

TeachesOfPeaches · 26/02/2018 21:24

No idea what the plot is but really enjoying Tom and his stump. It looks so believable and gets me a bit excited Blush

moodyblues · 26/02/2018 21:27

Pool playing sister was also the Aussie backpacker in one of the 'inside no.9' episodes. Also a police officer in the series about the young Jane Tennison, if fact she's been in loads of stuff recently.

I think she's great.

BitOfFun · 27/02/2018 01:32

I'm watching on catch-up now- please God she stays split up from the drippy fiancé!

Becauseimworthit79 · 04/03/2018 16:11

Looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Notonthestairs · 04/03/2018 17:11

I'm trying to get all the chores done early for once so I can sit down at 9pm. I've read the book so I know what happens but am still really looking forward to it!

Oh that was her! Thank you.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/03/2018 21:23

Jessica Gunning is her name. She's been in loads of stuff recently.

MistyMinge · 04/03/2018 21:51

I'm struggling to remember last week's. Who was Kelsey? And who's the guy with body bits in his freezer? Can't remember what cormoran do to piss him off?

SmartyPants0 · 04/03/2018 21:58

Please don't marry him Robin....

frazzled3ds · 04/03/2018 22:01

Gutted she married him!! Strike gets even easier on the eye when he's a bit roughed up doesn't he.... and he's clearly got a soft spot for her.

Great story - not read the books so no comment on how the adaptation compares, but after a weekend of snow and hyper kids, that was a well spent hour watching tv :)

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/03/2018 22:02

Ugh, WHY did she marry that prick?

Cooroo · 04/03/2018 22:03

Why did they squash it into 2 episodes? Ridiculous. And the whole BIID storyline was dropped.

Becauseimworthit79 · 04/03/2018 22:03

It doesn't quite end like that in the book. Matthew looks a bit too happy there.

Clawdy · 04/03/2018 22:15

The solution to the murder was very confusing. And Robin getting married ! Nooo! Thought Strike was going to do a "Benjamin last scene in The Graduate " and start shrieking "Robin!!!!" Then she'd turn and run to him.........Wink

Ickyockycocky · 04/03/2018 22:17

I thought the Elaine scene was going to happen....

JustDanceAddict · 04/03/2018 22:22

That was confusing! I’m going to read the book I think - read the first two. Got to love a bit of Cormoran - he’s a bit of rough...

Crumblevision · 04/03/2018 22:23

Gutted that Robin married that twit.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 04/03/2018 22:26

I was tearing up at Elisha and Angel :(

I can't wait for Robin to realise Matthew blocked Strike's calls and murder leave him for good. Controlling wanker.

southeastdweller · 04/03/2018 22:33

Way too rushed, really should have been a three parter.

adriansnewnotebook · 04/03/2018 22:34

I agree that Tom Burke definitely makes this. He is so beautiful.

I liked that Cormoran just made sure that Robyn knew he was there for her at the wedding.

Clawdy · 04/03/2018 22:36

I don't think Matthew is controlling, he's just jealous of Strike.
I found the Angel revelation to her mum very unlikely, it was all too quick. I don't think what she overheard Robin telling her mum would have made much sense to her, as Robin didn't go into details. It would have needed her mum to ask her carefully about it, instead it was all resolved in minutes.

Becauseimworthit79 · 04/03/2018 22:40

Deleting phone numbers from your partner's phone is pretty controlling, as is trying to steer your partner away from a job she loves. Yes, he is also jealous of Strike and hence the possessive and controlling behaviour.

AtiaoftheJulii · 04/03/2018 22:46

Enjoyed it, but a shame it couldn't be another 3 (or more!) parter, would all make so much more sense.

And I completely adore the opening credits, just love them. Not sure I've been so fond of opening credits since ER!

dorothyparka · 04/03/2018 22:56

The plot managed to be incredibly gruesome and upsetting and incredibly tedious and forgettable all at the same time. Love the two main characters though - good casting. Agree with pp that the opening credits are great tooSmile
