Sole with respect I'm not sure what your point is that you haven't heard of them? If you're into film and cinema you absolutely would have heard of them. If not, then you can't expect to have heard of them?

I Tonya? Ladybird etc no I haven't heard of them.

Neither Lady Bird or I, Tonya are out here yet, although there's been a lot of chat about them.

Lumley is better than I thought she would be. Her dress is ill fitting though.

My point was just that if you are not keen on cinema then you can't expect to have heard of them.

I go to the cinema almost weekly.

Sick of Joanna Lumley and her script now - which is basically just a thesaurus of 'lovely'.

You could tell that Stephen Fry would write, or at least polish, his funny scripts each year.

Oh god Stephen Fry was awful. So up his own arse.

I'm not an automatic fan of Stephen Fry. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes awful.

But in comparison...

Trailers for a lot of these films have been showing in the cinemas for a while. Although it also depends on what you're seeing as the trailers are chosen to fit the genre of the film.

I'm very into film and cinema and have heard of almost all of these. Check back regularly on the bafta website as well as many other film and cinema websites for upcoming films if you like to be in the know

This is boring boring shite. Someone needs to tell them it's only films. They aren't saving lives. None of them deserve the money they get. Some humility and realism would be nice.

Sole what on Earth ??? I reread what I said to see if it could come across as anyway hurtful. I'm just surprised that anyone who loves cinema hasn't heard of these films especially when most are also nominated for oscars ? I'm not sure what point you're trying to make by saying you've never heard of them? It seems redundant. Sorry that you were in hospital but I'm surprised by your reaction to me suggesting ways you can keep up to date with new releases.

Solebizz I'm not sure that going to the cinema each week implies you love film. It can mean you love films and movies. I go to the cinema once if not twice a week and haven't heard of most of these either. I love films
that I'm interested in but am not interested in "film" per se in the sense that I take a real interest in new releases, directors, cinematography etc. Icey has a point that if you are very interested in film, read up etc then you'll have heard of these if not then you won't. I love music but I have no idea what's in the pipeline in the music industry !
