Yes, he did have a David Gest look about him but, considering he was Ben's brother, he seemed fairly "wise".

I haven’t watched the last episode and I’m not sure I’ll bother as I wasn’t that invested to bother if the couples stuck together or not. This series just seemed really flat. Perhaps it was because there were only two couples.

I find it hilarious how low key the British version is, especially if you've just watched the high-drama US / Australian versions. There was no ridiculously long pause or slow drum roll before they announced their decision, and no crazy editing that made them appear insane.

Harriet must have been a major disappointment for the producers. It's hard to understand her perspective as I personally find Richard very appealing!

I'm surprised the relationship counsellor didn't do more to intervene, she was completely ineffectual. In the other versions they'd make them play intimacy games - look into each other's eyes, give massages, tell secrets etc. There was none of that. I think that Harriet will look back at this and regret not having given this a proper go.

I'm rooting for Ben and Steph, they seem well suited.

I agree about the British version being low key this series especially, maybe because there were only 2 couples.

The Aussie version is much more exciting, but feels a bit false.

Quite funny how many people were sure Harriet and Richard would lash and Stephanie and Ben wouldn't. I think their initial wedding aisle meetings set the tone.

American versions of these things are almost entirely taken up with compilations of 'coming up: Brayden and Emily's marriage hangs on a thread as they argue over shower gel' and then recapping 'here are Brayden and Peyton doing that exact thing you saw them doing before the commercial break'. As though we all have the memories of aged goldfish.

Just caught up on the last episode. My DH pipes up- can't imagine what Steph's colleagues will think of Ben! So right, imagine him in a room of police!!!

I'm disappointed for Richard but he deserves better anyway, I think she'll struggle to find someone to be honest, hopefully she's learnt that you need to relax and give a bit of yourself away.

Has anyone else tried to stalk them all on instagram and can't find them..no? just me I need to know what is going on and what they are doing now haha!

Yes I think Harriet may struggle to find someone now. Anyone who’s watched the show is going to go “Hmm. Humourless. Cold. Weird mouth. Nah”.

Really surprised at Ben agreeing to stay married. However nice she is she does seem very needy and clingy and that would drive me mad. Still think he's a prat though. That awful flowery red and black jacket he has on whilst being interviewed hope it works out for them though.

The commentator repeatedly stated that Richard and Harriet were scientifically the best match.

I just can't see the attraction of Ben. He's so up and down.

What I don't get about Harriett is that on the wedding day she seemed really pleased, said she found him attractive, there were lingering kisses. if there wasn't a spark what was all that about? He still looks the same! Why would you smooch with someone you've just met but not the same man you've just had a nice holiday with, who cooks you nice meals and buys you flowers and seems interested in you? Unless he's done something really wrong I just don't get it. She just switched off.

I like Steph.

I feel sorry for Harriet in a way. I think she withdrew once she realised that she didn’t want a long term commitment so she didn’t lead Richard on. It was clear she felt guilty at the final meeting.

I think the programme struggled for people to match this series though and probably went back through the applicants for matches.

Ben is a nightmare though. Did he really disappear to Portugal without telling Steph where he was going? That’s so disrespectful. I can’t believe she just let him waltz back in without saying anything either. For me the issue wouldn’t be that he went but just that he didn’t say that he was going. I’m not he’d take it if the roles were reversed.

I wondered that storm because he said I text you to say I was in Portugal. I mean, you'd be saying that you were going to Portugal that day. Makes me wonder whether they were actually living together at the time. Those scenes in the flat might be staged.

I had to stop myself from screaming 'no you didn't' when Harriet kept saying she had given it her all 🙄

As for Ben, he would drive me up the wall but then he is a 'property millionaire' apparently....

To be fair to Harriet (begrudgingly because I still don’t like her) I think she probably found Dick attractive initially hence the kisses on the wedding day. But chemistry is about more than looks.
In the same way that you can initially not fancy someone immediately, and then get to know them and suddenly find yourself fancying them rotten, I think it worked the other way for her.
