Surely they should have checked if Harriet liked dogs? Richard clearly needs someone funny, a home bird and someone who likes walking! if I was single there would be lots of girls who would adore him!

I didn't like Harriet at all in tonight's episode. She is so miserable and I hated the fact that she ignored Merlin. Why put someone who doesn't like dogs with some who not only likes them but has one?

It doesn't look like either marriage is going to work. I don't really see how they ever would and it annoys me a bit that this show and the people on it take marriage so lightly

Ben would be manically high one minute and then eaten by insecurity and depression the next. Hard work, messed up.

I feel really sorry for Richard. He’s so lovely and good looking, a real catch. I hope Harriet sees the light.

Harriet and Ben had me ranting at the tele tonight. Why is she moaning about staying in if she usually goes out? FGS women speak to each other and actually suggest doing something then. They’re both so passive. And that poor dog. I have judged her for that.

I don't think Ben is over his ex tbh i think they clearly fancy each other but that often isnt enough in my single days I had several ,six weeks -3 months relationships , Richard and Harriet are an odd match .

I really don't know how on paper they were the best matched. He likes dogs she doesn't - fail straight away. He is a cheerful person, she is a misery. He more or less acts his age, she acts like an old woman (and dresses like one). Yeah fantastic match!

Exactly, 18toys. I can't cope with the cheeky chappie thing either, but an absolute deal breaker would be the way Ben walks. He swaggers along like a jockey recently removed from his horse.

He’s not over his ex and his behaviour in light of that is making her insecure. They’re both quite dramatic too aren’t they! I think it was unfair to partner him with anyone after such a significant breakup. I wonder if he wanted to break up as he said she broke his heart didn’t he.

I think what Stephanie wanted out of marriage was the security so I think she has been sorely disappointed as I would be in her situation!

I think Harriet and Ben might work out in the end. They are just more reserved people(if you can be when marrying at first sight!) and a slower burn as the expert said. I think if they click it will be strong. I want tp shout at Harriet, just kiss him, he's lovely!The other two were a bit quick and excitable which makes for a great fling but not so sure about long term. I think she might be too strong for him. He has all the chat but think he is deeply insecure really, hence the fighting and the clothes and the jokey persona. Fascinated by the show.

I disagree. She looked good , sophisticated and grown up, nothing wrong with that. He was being a bit of a fart with all that cooking and cleaning though that might just be the edit. They just need a good snog!

Bit of a sidenote but it broke my wee heart when Richard's dog, seemingly the happiest dog in all the land, was stuck behing that cage just being ignored by Harriet. I'd stick Harriet behing the cage and get a divorce

The dog thing is weird, why match them? Having said that, I have never been a dog person. But rescued one a few years ago after much pressure from DD and am 100% converted. It could happen. It's such a lovely dog too.

Maybe the dog had to be in there? Rented house and all? Clutching at straws here for Richard!

Just watched last night's episode. I've gone right off Harriet - what a cold, closed up woman she is. Her reaction to the dog was ridiculous. She is acting like a spoilt brat and he is trying so hard. Run away Richard very fast!

@MsHarry oh of course, I was more sad about Harriet's ignoring of the dog and "eeeew" face when she chucked a toy at her. It's fair enough if she doesn't like them but it was still

I did wonder about the fact that the house is rented but surely who ever organised it would have made sure to get somewhere that allows dogs.

Really started to dislike Harriet last night. So up herself and I agrèe about her dress sense. Her holiday clothes were more like something you would wear to an interview
