Ah, my tribe! I've just found this thread, but I'm loving the reruns too. I've been meaning to rewatch this series for years!

Lweji · 03/05/2018 23:59

Aww just watching Susan leave. She left pretty early into the shows run.

She'll be back. Grin

Watching these reruns is interesting in so many ways. First the nostalgia for the show itself but also the way watching it takes me back to my life the first time I watched. I am amazed at how much I remember about certain scenes. (Others I appeared to have totally blocked out eg Chuny and Greene.)
I seem to remember Lewis being around longer than she was. Knowing what happened next eg Gant makes watching that build up of bullying even worse. Plus I don’t think back then neither me personally nor society in general was so alive to bullying. I am also struck by the seediness of the Doug Ross character although they are starting to set him up with Carol. And finally watching the episodes daily is making it easier for me to spot patterns. Eg the failures of Ross towards Charley and carter towards gant. Wylie plays the character really well getting that mix of ambition and humanity. His massive betrayal of gant I like to explain is because he is even more afraid of Benton after he caught him with Keaton.

@dingdongdigeridoo Glenne Headly playing Dr Keaton

Thank you @Violetroselily. Looked her up on IMDb and don’t think I’ve seen her in anything else. Maybe I’m confusing her with someone else.

Sad to see she died last year. She wasn’t very old in the show.

FoofFighter · 04/05/2018 15:00

@Sevendown that's a shame but again Greys is at least ten years old

Do they? I couldn't remember if they ended up together or not.

He leaves, she much later leaves to be with him.
Several thousand episodes later they show up together in a transplant story line.

I love it when the oldies come in contact with the newbies and they have no clue.

RolyRocks · 04/05/2018 15:38

dingdongdigeridoo She was in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine and Steve Martin. Brilliant film!!

I don’t think it’s worth pouncing on me for saying I didn’t expect a greys anatomy spoiler on an er thread.

I dont think it was on terrestrial tv before?

I am only watching it for the first time now.

Sorry - have missed this week’s episodes. What has happened with Gant???

dingdongdigeridoo · 04/05/2018 20:34

Gant was getting depressed because of Benton’s criticism. At the end of last nights episode, they had a badly injured patient in the trauma room who had been hit by a train so unrecognisable. They paged Gant, then realised that the beeper was coming from the patients pocket and it was him. They’re trying to work out if it was a suicide or accident, but it’s heavily implied it was because of the stress of work.

Aridane · 04/05/2018 20:36

Thank you, ding. I now remember from all those years ago. Shitty arrogant Benton

SubtitlesOn · 04/05/2018 20:42

You can watch the weeks episodes on Sunday night following the week iyswim

alltheworld · 04/05/2018 21:53

I am hating Benton right now.

pregle · 04/05/2018 22:23

It's mad how much you remember isn't it - like with Gant I knew carter was going to say oh sweet Jesus...yet I can't remember what I ate yesterday sometimes!!! This is back in my list of top 5 shows...

Violetroselily · 05/05/2018 08:40

Love the sky blurb

dingdongdigeridoo · 05/05/2018 14:31

Haha, what a great way to ruin one of the shows most dramatic moments!

Coming up next... Fight Club where it turns out Brad Pitt is just a figment of Edward Norton’s imagination.

DrGreeneChairLean · 07/05/2018 20:25

Also annoyed at the sky info/blurb!!! I mean I knew it was coming but seriously!?!
