I’m on to season 2 of the DVD’s as I missed some when they were on 20 odd years ago.
Just seen the one of Ross in the sewer. Oh man, a wet white shirt moment to rival that of Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice!

iklboo · 22/03/2018 11:36

I think that might be the episode they're showing tonight or tomorrow on tv.

MissPiggysKarateChop · 22/03/2018 18:46

Arrrrrgh thank you for bringing this t my attention!!

FoofFighter · 22/03/2018 19:30

@Papergirl1968 that's my favourite ER moment everrrrrrrrr

I have just found this thread. I love ER and never get to chat about it with anyone. And I'm willing to binge watch my box sets to catch you all up. May I join you?

iklboo · 22/03/2018 21:48

You've already got Hathaway in your name - pull up a gurney & get your Greene on 😉

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 22/03/2018 22:00

I do love Dr Greene. Carter and Dr Dubenko are rather lush too.

Ontheboardwalk · 22/03/2018 22:02

Foof hope you’ve caught up with your binge watching.

DSHathaway binge watch away. When did you watch it last? Be interesting to hear your views now. Mine are completely different to the first time round.

I loved Doug first time round but why the feck did he show up at Hathaway’s non wedding. Controlling fecker

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 22/03/2018 22:12

I've watched later seasons loads but 1&2 are new to me. Got the dvds for Xmas to complete my set so have seen 3 onwards, 8 on wards multiple times but I love the early seasons

Sevendown · 22/03/2018 22:41

I love ER!

I liked Glenn Headley as the paediatrician, that’s the kind of surgeon I’d want as a patient!

The live episode was great tv.

The one with Ewan McGregor is too sad to watch again.

As was the one with the guy dying of chemical burns.

I had a crush on Ray, don’t think they made the most of him.

I’m not such a huge Mark fan. He was racist in the basketball shooting episode.

Lucy, it was too heart wrenching to think about.

iklboo · 22/03/2018 22:50

The Ray Liotta one was heartbreaking

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 22/03/2018 22:56

There are too many sad ones. The one with the drag queen who is chased away from his partners bedside is so sad :(

dingdongdigeridoo · 22/03/2018 23:10

Dr Greene was in the shower today and I thought of this thread! His wife is a terrible character.

My celeb spot tonight was a very young Lucy Liu. Haven’t seen her on tv for a while.

Elend · 22/03/2018 23:16

Rewatching these as well with my mum, her first time seeing the early years. She can't understand why Clooney was the heartthrob when they had a perfectly good John Carter right there. 3 episodes I'm dreading most - Lucy, Greene, Ray vs Truck. Can't wait for Romano, Kovac, and Archie Morris my one true love.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 22/03/2018 23:33

@Elend Archie curing that little boy with "boogie man" pills and then accidentally scaring the bejesus out of him with a face mask is one of my favourite light relief moments. I love Archie! Green dying makes me cry every time. When he walks through the empty hospital I always dissolve!

Sevendown · 23/03/2018 08:18

I don’t get the Jen hate on this thread.

If she was an MNer she’d get sympathy!

She worked to put her DH through med school then once she gets qualified he just wants her to be a trailing spouse! He could be an ER doc anywhere. He should have gone with her to Milwaukee. He had no family in Chicago, so he stayed just because he was pals with Doug- pathetic man child!

Papergirl1968 · 23/03/2018 10:39

I’ve been to Milwaukee. Totally get why Greene doesn’t want to move there! Although Chicago was only slightly better...

hamandpease · 23/03/2018 13:27

I know it's right at the beginning of this thread but she wore a wig as Alicia Florrick?! I assumed she'd had it chemically straightened

Collywobbles1984 · 23/03/2018 15:23

So jealous of the few posters getting to watch the first few seasons for the first time! Me and DH LOVE ER, he even did a stint as a nurse in A and E himself! We started watching on CBS, but one episode a night wasn't enough, so binging on the box set again!😍

gussiefox · 23/03/2018 15:57

I am thoroughly enjoying it - although I had forgotten how distressing it could be (the little kid with the coathanger stuck in his mouth!?).Totally agree with ontheboardwalk that I feel very differently watching it this time around. I guess that's partly because I am older - goodness they are sooooo young - and partly because I know what will happen. First time around I thought Doug was lovely/funny and I absolutely loathed Benton and Carrie. Now Doug just seems sleazy and Carrie and Benton are making me smile.

stringbean · 23/03/2018 16:11

I'm loving watching these repeats! Thank you MN for flagging this. It used to be my favourite programme - I watched every single episode, and am getting quite nostalgic watching them 20-odd years on!

Ontheboardwalk · 23/03/2018 21:39

String it’s Foof you need to love or hate for signing you up to watch 300 plus episodes again!

Foof would no doubt comment but I think they are busy binge watching their recent DVD purchase.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 23/03/2018 23:01

I fell downstairs yesterday and will be spending a lot of time with my feet up for a while to rest my sprained ankles. I sense a proper box set binge Grin

AnnaT45 · 24/03/2018 08:02

Welcome Hathaway! Hope your ankle is ok. Ouch! But great excuse to binge.

I used to hate Kerry initially first time now but actually she's really fair and Susan comes across as a brat who just runs to Mark if she doesn't get her own way.

I also don't like Jeanie this time round at all! She gives off a sweet and kind vibe but she's used Benton after his mum died and now staying with the husband- what a bitch. Again I'm too invested in this show...

stringbean · 24/03/2018 08:55

I stand corrected - thank you Foof for flagging this Grin Grin
