John is a God amongst men. That is all.

We've now chatted more than the entire last series of CBB. I wonder why???? Grin

Hi folks. Glad to see you're all enjoying CBB again this year.

We just wanted to pop by with a bit of a reminder about our rules, as we've had lots of reports about the posts about India Willoughby on this thread.

As you probably know, we're happy to allow the debate about issues relating to transgender to take place on Mumsnet, but as with any debate we ask folks to stick within our Talk Guidelines. This means that we will delete posts that we feel are inflammatory, provocative, amount to goady fuckery or are just plain uncivil or unkind.

We appreciate that there are discussions to be had about biology and the nature of what it is to be a woman, and to that end we allow posts which align with scientific orthodoxy and which that are in the spirit of genuine, civil debate. But we do think that repeatedly referring to someone, in passing, by a pronoun they've rejected is both goady and inflammatory. We're not going to go back now and delete each instance but we wanted to give fair warning - please do bear this in mind from now on.
Cheers all
MNHQ

Oops. Blush Thank youBore. You can tell I haven't watched BB for a very very long time.

I love the idea of his co workers voting to keep him in. Grin

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2018 11:07

Oops X post.

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/01/2018 11:08

Thank you @KateMumsnet @MNHQ

Poor Kate, I wouldn't want your job, at the minute, for the world. I know I'm a very bad woman and making your job harder, so I'll try to tone it down. Though I won't go so far as to lie. Thank for recognising our right to acknowledge science. I'm still a proud perf

Always Anne agreed to having a makeover from Shane on the condition that Shane first did a makeover for Courtney, so that Courtney appeared more of a lady and less of a vamp. Although I think the word tart was used rather than vamp.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 09/01/2018 11:20

Actually when B.B. puts up its info, will they use Courtney or Shane? It was Courtney who was introduced and entered the house, but we’ve seen more of Shane.

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2018 11:21

Shane's reaction to Anne's comment on him looking less like a tart, was hilarious. I think he will do it, just so he can give Anne a makeover. I can see him dressing up as Anne. :-D

Shane went on as Shane but went in as Courtney but his real self is Shane iyswim (confusing myself )

HeyRoly · 09/01/2018 11:27

I've been a fan of Rupaul's Drag Race and Courtney/Shane for a couple of years now, and really want to know how he feels about a transwoman bigot like India. Shane is a huge advocate for trans people, so to come up against someone like India must be... interesting. I hope he manages to challenge her. He's so calm and articulate

I missed the episode when Courtney arrived and India revealed her bullshit phobia - what did Shane have to say then?

Good article in the Mirror about last night 's shenanigans!

Hmm don't know why that posted twice!

busyboysmum · 09/01/2018 11:34

There was a very interesting couple of episodes of W1A where there was a cross dressing football pundit who was frankly crap. But because he was cross dressing they had to employ him and be really careful or he would scream victimisation. Series 3, the first couple of episodes. India seems to be the same.

I've really taken to most of the other people in CBB though. They all seem really lovely caring people. No really big egos in there which is nice. Faves are Malika, Andrew, Shane/Courtney, Amanda, and of course the lovely John Barnes.

Can't stand Dapper though - complete arse. Urgh. Talentless and just a really revolting person. Never heard of him and have no desire to seek out his "comedy" having seen him in this.

Promise to do my absolute best not to refer to India as "he/him", @KateMumsnet. Those rules are very fair 👍

Just so I don't accidentally swap one misgendering for another (!), can I check, is"they/their" okay, or does it have to be she/her or nothing (ie use India every time)?

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2018 11:39

always that was worth posting twice. I never thought I'd be delighted with something that the mirror has written. And the comments. Wow.

Royalfuckup · 09/01/2018 11:41

I wonder if the housemates will have the guts to vote for India to be evicted tonight.

Malika probably would as, from we have seen so far, she has not been afraid to tell India to fuck off albeit in a polite way Grin

But as they don’t know what the public perception is, will they be honest about wants no IW out or will they play a supposedly safe game?

Can’t wait for tonight’s episode!

Alwaysinmyheart · 09/01/2018 11:43

According to bookies, Courtney is the most popular housemate!

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2018 11:44

No way on this earth am I calling India she/her. I won't lie and I'm not referring to India as 'they' as there is only one India. thank fuck

Royalfuckup · 09/01/2018 11:44

*wanting India out. Bloody autocorrect

NellyFrestelli · 09/01/2018 11:45

Apart from the utterly pointless Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee aka Dappa and Jonny, this CBB is the best I can recall in a long, long time! They all work so well together!

I'd like Courtney/Shane to win, as he would be a great example to young men who are struggling. They might realise that they can wear women's clothing and be happy that they're a man.
