Yes, I know it is a shock to discover CBB celebrities famous for something other than being on other reality shows, but there are some in the house this year! It is a miracle!

Still no shopping lists, decent long-lasting tasks and lack of BB interference but we can't have everything can we?

PWBs - pull up a chair (from your favourite Oak furniture dealer), grab your snacks and get stuck in!

Here Scoop just reading the reporters posts.

I think there's a difference between criticising a woman for her looks and mannerisms, and criticising a man who thinks he looks and acts like a woman for his looks and mannerisms

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 14:48

Rolls eyes. assigned you have massively missed the point. I'm not telling you can't think she looks male, I'm saying it's offensive to make the way she looks relevant to any debate regarding what it means to be a woman or what pronouns to use etc. And by the way it's also offensive to tell somebody to piss off.

I think it might just be possible that c5 put IW in there not to "court controversy" but maybe, just maybe it's because the producers and makers are liberal minded tolerant people of the 21st century who thought actually it is relevant to put a trans woman in an all woman house. It's a possibility. They said all woman house not "biologically born xx with a fanny" house.

Yes IW did live 50 years with "male privilege" but she chose to leave that behind and wants to be accepted as a woman. She may not be doing exactly what you think a woman should do but I'm not sure that makes her deserving of the wealth of vitriol against her on here

BeyondWW · 08/01/2018 14:49

Sorry bore, my (unclear) point was; if someone is going through the thread reporting every single post that misgenders or refers to India as Male - as someone in Aibu has said they have done - why have only a few been deleted? Were they "beyond the pale" as opposed to just misgendering? I dunno.

BeyondWW · 08/01/2018 14:51

But if people are offended by India's inclusion, and the implication that they don't live in the 21st century, whose offence wins?

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/01/2018 14:54

Mmm. I see what you mean Beyond. Dunno, I suspect MNHQ are... sympathetic to the viewpoint of many of us though.

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 15:14

I don't know beyond. I haven't been involved in any LGBT debates before BB so this is new ground for me. I'm just stating my feelings in response to this thread. But... And this is just a thought... wouldn't your remark about whose offence wins possibly be similar to a hypothetical scenario whereby BB had a "all British house" and if people said in response to that "I'm offended that immigrants with a British passport are in there calling themselves British"??? Would that "offence" be valid? IS it ok to say "I have a right to be offended that my views are considered outdated/non PC or prejudiced?"

BeyondWW · 08/01/2018 15:18

I dunno, do you equate women who don't believe in the unscientific and outdated - if currently fashionable - concept of "ladybrain", with people who are racist? Do you think they are comparable?

Andrew does drag tonight Grin Betty Swollocks

India sits foaming and inviting attention. And Malika says it like it is about India and their attention seeking. Going to be another good one

No you are missing every bloody relevant point Miss.

IW is a man. It's nothing to do with the way a women should be behave, IW is not a woman and it will be a cold day in hell before I say that IW is a woman

And again, noone has the right not to be offended

BatShite · 08/01/2018 15:28

They said all woman house not "biologically born xx with a fanny" house.

what is the definition of a woman, if not adult human female?

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 15:28

I think prejudice is prejudice. Potato potAto. But I'm not saying everyone on here is being prejudiced. Some are being offensive in my opinion and others are being a bit unnecessarily mean. But some did pre-judge IW based on her status. She has shown herself to be a bit of an arse. But anyone can be an arse. She's not an arse because she calls herself a woman or because she's trans. She's an arse because she acts like an arse. I don't see how her looks gender or naked moisturising are relevant to that

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 15:33

Well that batshite is the debate! I have my opinion on that and don't expect that everyone agrees. But i don't think "woman" is about your hairline or whether you dry your hair topless or whether you have fake looking breasts (another ridiculous and offensive previous discussion on here - does that mean women who've had a double mastectomy and double implants are no longer women because their breasts don't look like yours? Hmm )

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/01/2018 15:40

You don't get to have an 'opinion' on science Miss. What arrogance.

Science is based on observable, proven facts.

Your personal views on the artificial tits on a male do not science make

assigned Have you read the whole thread? I was referring to the masses of posts on here that are discussing the way women should behave. So I don't think I am missing the point, just responding to that discussion and also, I may add, attempting to do so in a civilised way (without swearing at other posters...)

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 08/01/2018 15:43

Got to the contretemps with Ann over the bed. What an unpleasant person India is.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/01/2018 15:47

No they ar talking about the way typically socialised males and females behave. And IW behaving like a typical entitled male. (NAMALTAATS).

And pat on head for being a good girl and not swearing

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 15:48

I think generally speaking i am coming from my assumption (which may be wrong) that the term 'woman' is used in general normal RL conversation as meaning gender, not whether a person was born with particular reproductive organs. My point is that I think the social term of "woman" is up for debate. Not that science is up for debate. Lol

Missrabbitneedsabreak · 08/01/2018 15:52

"Your personal views on the artificial tits on a male do not science make"

I quite agree! Personally I don't really have much of an opinion on this. I was simply referring to other posters discussing this at length in their debate about whether IW has a right to call herself a woman

Thehairthebod · 08/01/2018 16:08

My point is that I think the social term of "woman" is up for debate.

No its not. Men do not get to redefine what 'woman' is according to their own whims at a certain time. And especially not while women continue to be oppressed, as they have been for millenia, by men purely on the basis of their female bodies; bodies that they cannot 'identify' their way out of.

Fuck that noise.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/01/2018 16:09

There is no 'social' term for women that includes males, dicks or XY chromosomes. The social term for that would be man, bloke, lad, etc.

It's really not that difficult

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/01/2018 16:10

YY Hair

Up for debate, my arse.

BeyondWW · 08/01/2018 16:12

If it was up for debate, how do we do that if pointing out that someone is behaving like a man is offensive?

How do we debate what behaviour is stereotypically male (and therefore the opposite) is, when you are complaining about the posts stating India is not behaving like the social category of "Woman"?
