Celeb Big Bro Thread 2 - Courtney's audition for the Bucks Fizz tribute act wasn't quite what they were looking for...

Yes, I know it is a shock to discover CBB celebrities famous for something other than being on other reality shows, but there are some in the house this year! It is a miracle!

Still no shopping lists, decent long-lasting tasks and lack of BB interference but we can't have everything can we?

PWBs - pull up a chair (from your favourite Oak furniture dealer), grab your snacks and get stuck in!

Agree mimpi. I hate over-touchers in general, it's weird.

PositivelyPERF · 08/01/2018 13:41

Yes. I find India the trans gender person very pushy, with forcing physical contact. The other men would be pulled into the diary room and told off for that. It's really creepy and you can tell that poor Ann doesn't do physical contact. The TIM couldn't possibly miss her uncomfortable reaction, yet keeps doing it. Anyone else would be told to fuck of, by the other housemates, by now. Must be part of all that 'trans oppression' we keep hearing about. Hmm

BatShite · 08/01/2018 13:41

Kelly Malone wasn't that annoying when she was in it was she ?

Kellie was horrible IIRC. I vaguely remember her squaring up to a woman then blaming it on 'Frank'. Anything less than great about Kellies personality was blamed on Frank too. Kellie clearly used Frank as just something to blame when Kellie was a twat.

BatShite · 08/01/2018 13:42

I also seem to remember Kellie trying to bait Audley into saying something transphobic and Audley just being very 'whatever dude'

MrsJayy · 08/01/2018 13:45

Oh yes I remember Audley not rising to a fight maybe I am just misremembering Kelly

PositivelyPERF · 08/01/2018 13:45

I haven't watched BB for years MrsJay, so didn't know that. If Shane is anything to go by, I'm sure they were formidable women. I can't imagine them putting up with nonsense from any misogynistic men.

BeyondWW · 08/01/2018 13:47

Kellie/Frank have DID, do (umm) they?

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/01/2018 13:48

BeyondWW MNHQ have said in the past that they will delete posts for "misgendering" if they are reported. I don't think they go looking for them.

As I said earlier, MN is one of the few places where we can have these discussions, without being immediately shut down for any questioning of the prevailing narrative that anyone is anything they say they are, irrespectve of biological facts.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/01/2018 13:57

Kellie Maloney, wife-strangler and homophobe.

Lovely, lovely woman

Jeez Shock

I think it's a bit crass that many many people on here are so obsessed with how (un)feminine IW looks (in their opinion). Really?? That should not be relevant at all even when discussing what pronoun to use for her. I think it's quite offensive. You may not like her but judging her for still "looking like a man" is a bit off, there's not much she can do about her bone structure and hair line without undergoing major procedures and to add that to the reasons of why she apparently is not a woman is IMO very unfeminist and misses the point surely about what it means to be a woman anyway - ie are you saying we judge womanhood based on looks??!

Also the abuse regarding drying her hair topless is so OTT. So what? Some people are happy to be nude (eg naturists). saying it's unwomanly to not be prudish/want to hide your body also massively stereotypes and makes judgements about how women should act. She explained she doesn't find her breasts sexual. So what?? There are women out there who would probably agree (such as some breastfeeding mothers, and again naturists). Can't we for one second possibly conceive that a trans women has as much right as a biologically born woman to challenge what is means to look and act like a woman?

I don't like IW as it happens. I don't think she's coming across as very likeable although I can see her vulnerabilities too and I think Ashleigh is it? (the youngish "social media personality") was quite accurate in her observations last night.

I'm not at all surprised that some comments on here are being deleted. There's having an opinion and there's being downright offensive/borderline prejudiced and I'm not quite sure what the exact definition of an online troll is but I can't see how being offensive on here is any better than social media trolling.

Cue the "professionally offended" / " PC brigade" comments/ defence Hmm

sheldonesque · 08/01/2018 14:01

I wonder if IW will admit to being 'a real arsehole' when they watch this back?

Maggie might well just be watching. She has had a couple of snidey comments to/about Ann though. Maybe that is what made me prickle because up to then she'd seemed to be unbelievably nice. Still doesn't detract from what she did for those girls though.

MrsJayy · 08/01/2018 14:06

Ann is probably a total nightmare to live with Tbf try anybodies patience I have only been watching properly for a few days

sheldonesque · 08/01/2018 14:09

I personally wouldn't dry my hair topless. There will be folk who do. I just find it really bloody odd that someone would choose to do it in the BB house. It seems to me that it was for show but I will happily be corrected.

Not at all offended. Smile I get offended by someone being horrible and entitled.

Thehairthebod · 08/01/2018 14:10

Can't we for one second possibly conceive that a trans women has as much right as a biologically born woman to challenge what is means to look and act like a woman?

No. Transwomen are not women, so how can they 'challenge what it means to look and act like a woman?

I have eyes and brain in my head. Should I ignore what I see and what my brain and my years of instinct, experience and education are telling me? No, I will not. India is male in every single cell in 'India's' body.

As far as 'this is offensive' seriously, piss off. It's offensive to me that I should be expected to tell lies and collude in someone's delusions.

But actually, noone has a right not to be offended.

I will life my life being true to myself and that includes not being compelled to tell lies or speak in a manner that is not honest or truthful or downright bloody ridiculous.

No

Only1scoop · 08/01/2018 14:16

This afternoon I will mostly be blinging Up Bomber Jackets and Clipboards....

May even hoover out the porta cabin

PositivelyPERF · 08/01/2018 14:17

I will never agree that TIM has the right to challenge what is means to look and act like a woman. Don't be so ridiculous. Would you let any man tell you what you should look and act like? Yet you're suggesting that someone who has had male privilege for the first 50yrs of their life should show us how it's done. FFS.

bambambini · 08/01/2018 14:21

I’m surprised how male India looks tbh. If you look at their publicity pics and their stint on LW - i thought India looked pretty goor actually and really feminine. Watching BB - the illusion has been shattered but i think the behaviour hasn’t helped.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/01/2018 14:22

In all my years going to the gym I have never seen a women drying her hair topless. God knows there are tits and fannies everywhere and most are not in the least shy, but you get fucking dressed then do your hair and/or makeup.

Nor have I seen a women massaging her breasts in the manner IW did. Put body lotion all over body, but never that tit fest that was going on the other night.

busyboysmum · 08/01/2018 14:24

My breasts are not an area that have ever needed cream TBH. Unless I was sunbathing topless I suppose. Not something you do in the North of England in January though....

sheldonesque · 08/01/2018 14:24

Sorry posted too soon.

I think that being a woman seems to come at the bottom of the pile with regards to rights and prejudice. As said at the very start the house was not the all women house as they xx purported it to be. And that is a shame when there could have been an all woman house and they chose to court controversy instead. Sad

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 08/01/2018 14:27

I've read this thread and seen a bit of BB but until today on catch up I hadn't hit any of India's difficult behaviour. Even though I'd read about it, I was still shocked at how horrible she was to Amanda. Not accepting an apology is such a hostile act, and disproportionate to what had happened. The lack of conciliation really stood out to me, something that comes very naturally to me and most people I know - men as well as women, although I totally agree that women are conditioned into this in general.

I also agree though that criticising how anyone looks isn't really worthy of a wider debate about what it means to be a transwoman and woman. It's great that the debate can be had on MN, and I think discussing whether transwomen choose to dress and present themselves in certain ways is relevant, but just being mean about someone's appearance doesn't add to that.
