Dancing On Ice is back! Time to get your skates on #1

So the Strictly glitter has settled for another year but to fill the void we have the new series of DOI starting this Sunday at 6pm on ITV1.

Our presenters will be Phil & Holly and our judges are Jason Gardiner (he's the Craig!), Torvill and Dean, and Ashley Banjo (from Diversity).

There are 12 brave stars taking to the ice this year. ’Coronation Street’ actors Anthony Cotton and Brooke Vincent lead the way, alongside ‘Hollyoaks’ star Stephanie Waring, Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter Alex Beresford, Love Islander Kem Cetinay, former ‘Great British Bake Off’ champ Candice Brown, singer Lemar, rugby player Max Evans, former ‘X Factor’ contestant Jake Quickenden, Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton, presenter Donna Air and Bucks Fizz member Cheryl Baker.

There has already been injury - Lemar has replaced cricketer Monty Panesar who literally crashed out with a broken ankle...ouch!

So come and join us...there will be dancing , there will be ice and there will be thread mascots

ah bless melodie - she didn't realize they were safe, Candice has resting bitchy face, i am sorry to see Matt out so early. I liked their routine.
Chris is so under Jayne's thumb though!

Although schaden will be marked as absent and will not be allowed on the end of term trip to the zoo.

Oooh I like strict Fuzzy must remember not to get on wrong side of her as want to go to the zoo!

I have always loved Dan and how lovely he is with his partners but he did all the skating and Cheryl did nothing on her own .

Candice has no feeling for dance expression .
I was very impressed with the rugby player's dance ability .

Loved watching the tall,elegant and graceful woman.

Enjoyed it much better than last week.

Still can't put my finger on why it just isn't as good as it used to be...It just doesn't feel as glossy. Also the group dances are pretty poor is it the lack of T&D that is making such a difference?
I have always been a major D.O.I fan so will continue to watch but Strictly looks so slick compared to it. It just feels a bit like I would imagine the tour would be?

I love dan, so glad he's in even if he is paired with someone who can't skate. Good on her though, no way she looks 63!

CremeFresh. That was not good of her. I was shocked that the 1st 2 judges voted her through.
I thought Lemar had more potential and that men have it harder than the women anyway.
I'm for the rugby player as the strongest skater and best dancer of the men.
Some good women so not yet decided which I like best yet.

Weird DO . Candice was technically better than last week but she has hardly any. dance expression. Though to be fair Lemarr mmmmmmm….. Did n't have lifts to learn.He just pushed his partner round a bit.

I'm thinking the reason is not asd polished is because t&d are not dancing in the pro dance. Maybe they make all the difference.
I don't think Chris is under jaynes thumb. I'd say is the other way round. Jayne just seems nicey nicey.

For me, it isn't as good as before because the crowd are too loud (feels like they've been told to scream) and the judging panel doesn't work.There needs to be one person as head judge, someone authoritative. Torville and Dean seem awkward and embarrassed giving their scores. Jason needs someone to spar with and there isn't anyone. Hopefully things will improve over the series.

The rumours back in the day were that he was a bully. I was surprised when I saw them skating together again when doi came along so can only assume the rumours were wrong or that he has mellowed.

If you go onto Hollys instagram page she usually posts her outfits on there and might say where they are from.

I enjoyed this week so much more without the annoying commentary. Glad Lemar stayed, i think he could become really good.

I don't have Instagram, wouldn't have a clue how to use it so I will get dd on the case. Holly is a clothes horse though, can't imagine anything looking bad on her. I'm more of a clothes donkey

Sorry, Chris was apparently over bearing and used to work Jayne really hard. Again, they were just rumours at the time (or what I can remember of them - it was a long time ago!)

Minor that was a joke at the expense of Holly's completely unreal looking cleavage!! Which she's obviously very proud of I mentioned last week that she should put them away, she didn't read this thread!!

Holly could have done with a polo neck to match Phil's - she must have been freezing

Think Jason's going to have to do all his sparring with the dancers - he's not going to get into a spat with T&D, and Ashley's too nice to spar with.

Hats off to Cheryl for donning that outfit and recreating 1981 , er sort of. Effin 'ell, wish I could turn the clock back 36 or so years and do the stuff I did when I was 15 rather than be knockin on the door of 52!
