Dancing On Ice is back! Time to get your skates on #1

So the Strictly glitter has settled for another year but to fill the void we have the new series of DOI starting this Sunday at 6pm on ITV1.

Our presenters will be Phil & Holly and our judges are Jason Gardiner (he's the Craig!), Torvill and Dean, and Ashley Banjo (from Diversity).

There are 12 brave stars taking to the ice this year. ’Coronation Street’ actors Anthony Cotton and Brooke Vincent lead the way, alongside ‘Hollyoaks’ star Stephanie Waring, Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter Alex Beresford, Love Islander Kem Cetinay, former ‘Great British Bake Off’ champ Candice Brown, singer Lemar, rugby player Max Evans, former ‘X Factor’ contestant Jake Quickenden, Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton, presenter Donna Air and Bucks Fizz member Cheryl Baker.

There has already been injury - Lemar has replaced cricketer Monty Panesar who literally crashed out with a broken ankle...ouch!

So come and join us...there will be dancing , there will be ice and there will be thread mascots

I've got tickets to watch the show tomorrow at the studio - can't wait!!

I love this programme. I'm pleased it's back too.

Yay! So pleased it's back. I've loved Torvill and Dean since I watched them in the 1994 Olympics. I've seen the live show twice and it was so good...haven't booked tickets this year though as I wanted to see if I liked the new format as much.

I'm so pleased this is back I won't be able to participate on this thread much as alas the airing is right over the DCs bedtime, but I will be an avid viewer.

That's literally a list of 'who?' rather than 'who's who' for me (I don't watch soaps or reality tv beyond Strictly, Bake Off & DOI).

I'll be watching, I love it, I'll have to ignore Phil and Holly though, I can't stand them.

Remember when Keith Chegwin (rip) did so well after breaking his shoulder the first time around.

The girl that used to be in brookside, think her name is Jennifer, she split her own head with her skate during a routine.

iklboo I'm with you there. I know of Cheryl Baker (aka Rita Crudgington), Antony Cotton and Candice of the Lipstick but the rest are a closed book to me. Never mind, I am sure I will get to love them get opinionated very soon!

Thanks for the thread sass. I like Cheryl Baker but three times winner Dan W will not get my support if he still does all the annoying winking - he thinks it's his thing same as Kevin doing a kick at end of strictly intro - when it simply drives me to drink.
So yes, like Cheryl but not keen on Dan. Love Matt Evers but not keen on Candice. So I guess I could support Sylvain after Philip was such a goady fucker to him in the all-stars (producers deliberately put him with Georgie and they wouldn't let up about his private life).

In the meantime some exhibition dances...Katz/Bourne are my favourites next to T&D

I could never do DOI, am great speed skater forwards but backwards is another story. I would skate to Enya's Caribbean blue though. And Abba's Head over heels

Welcome Love that you have your DOI music sorted! It's been so long it will be like starting all over again with the show later. Looking forward to it. Curling up with DD, some nice food and thread fun. Yay!

Ooooh, my DOI music would be Tom Petty's "Freefalling". I love it and anything with falling in it would be highly descriptive.

I was surprised they showed it SchadenFreude, from what I remember Jason was so cool about the whole thing, it didn't phase him one bit.
