I've finished The Crown, House of Cards, OITNB, Grace & Frankie, Stranger Things, Mad Men, The Good Wife... what else might I like?

Lovesick

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 09/01/2018 21:34

The good wife

Bluntness100 · 09/01/2018 21:38

Oh and just started with manhunt unabomber, it's excellent.

badbadhusky · 09/01/2018 21:50

I thought both Paul Bettany (unrecognisable) and Sam Worthington were great in Unabomber.

Blessyourheart · 09/01/2018 22:04

My recent binge was series 2 of Travelers that was released on Boxing Day. Dark and Santa Clarita Diet are next up. I liked Mind Hunter so will try Unabomber.

I thought OA ended, I am surprised a second series is due.

TowerRingInferno · 09/01/2018 22:40

Watching The Crown series 1 again, having just finished series 2.

Also The Dark (but it’s too scary for just before bedtime)

AdelicaArundel · 09/01/2018 22:45

.

PasDeDeux · 10/01/2018 20:49

Spent November and December binging every episode of Jane the Virgin, now watching Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

BabyCute · 10/01/2018 21:33

I've finished The Dark and currently watching The Sinner which is fab. Grin

Commuterface · 11/01/2018 13:09

We've just finished Peaky Blinders (caught up with the fourth series on iPlayer too). God it was brilliant. We binged all four series over the Christmas period.

We're now on to Black Mirror.

MedicinalGin · 11/01/2018 13:16

We love Black Mirror but good grief- be strong of stomach before watching the episode called Black Museum. It honest to god gave me nightmares for three days, it was one of the most frightening things I have ever watched 😱

GameOldBirdz · 11/01/2018 13:24

I've previously watched:

  • "The OA" ... awful, don't waste your time.
  • "Stranger Things" ... good in series 1 but terrible in series 2
  • OITNB ...tremendous and I'm in love with Samira Wiley
  • "The Good Place" ... more like a kids show. I gave up on that
  • "Black Mirror" ... very self-satisfied and really quite boring
  • "Inside Number 9" ... great
  • "The Punisher" ... absolute bollocks. I gave up but DH stuck with it
  • "Walking Dead" ... okay for about three episodes but is, essentially, just the same thing happening over and over again just in different locations
  • "Pretty Little Liars" ... awful and like a kids show. I gave up.
  • "American Horror Story" ... boring and not at all scary
  • "The Killing" (US version)... shit but Joel Kinnaman is very nice to look at even when he was playing a meth addict

I'm currently watching :

  • "Glitch" which is very hard going,
  • "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which is brilliant but having shit loads of mid-series breaks,
  • "Kimmy Schmidt" which took me a while to get into but is brilliant even though it's basically just "Gimme Gimme Gimme" for American millennials
Anonymum40 · 11/01/2018 13:42

Offspring. The best TV ever...

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 11/01/2018 13:51

"The OA" ... awful, don't waste your time

I think I agree with this. Enjoyed the build up but the pay off was one of the worst endings to a series I've ever seen. In fact, I was embarrassed for the actors.

Also, I really don't get the hype about Stranger Things.

GameOldBirdz · 11/01/2018 14:04

Courtney That's a perfect way of putting it about The OA! It sort of felt like they ran out of steam.
Me and DH had hundreds of conversations about how much of a twat the actors must've felt doing that stupid dancing bollocks... very Steps.

TowerRingInferno · 11/01/2018 15:40

Yy to Offspring! I’d forgotten how brilliant that was. I binge watched all 8 (?) series and was gutted when it was over.

NurseButtercup · 11/01/2018 15:59

I'm re-watching Grace and Frankie whilst waiting patiently for series 4 that will drop on 19th January.

The film Mudbound is definitely worth a look

iwantavuvezela · 11/01/2018 16:08

Towering rhino and anonymous I see you loved Offspring as much as I did ...god it was good!
You might also enjoy Rake. Another Aussie series.

Firstaidnovice · 11/01/2018 17:48

Not Netflix, but I'm assuming you have access to All4, and I haven't seen it recommended by anyone else on the thread, but Search Party is excellent. There are two seasons, and I think 2 is even better. Sort of a millennial mystery show, which makes it sound awful, but it's not. Manages to be funny as well as gripping.

I'm also enjoying Rake courtesy of one of these threads, but if you watch them too close together it is vaguely ridiculous (flu binge watching has slightly ruined it)

CaptainHammer · 11/01/2018 18:25

I’m currently re watching Inside Number 9, it’s bloody brilliant.

battenbergbutterfly · 11/01/2018 18:39

Luther
Peaky Blinders
The Crown
Happy Valley
Line of Duty

TowerRingInferno · 11/01/2018 19:30

iwantavuvezela thank you - look forward to trying it later!

badbadhusky · 11/01/2018 20:16

Wanted was brilliant - Aussie thriller/crime/on the run drama with 2 excellent female leads. Shades of Thelma and Louise. Thoroughly enjoyable. The open mic night scene in season two was genuinely surprising, in a good way.

MissTulipan · 11/01/2018 21:18

I’ve watched many of the already mentioned but can add another...

Girlboss. Loved this series, made me nostalgic for my carefree youth!

irishe · 11/01/2018 22:43

Currently watching Outsiders, it's Appalachian hill billys meets Sons of Anarchy with a bit of Eco woo thrown in, enjoying it.

The Night Shift - didn't like it at first, felt like downmarket ER, some dialogue a bit wooden. But it grew on me, and I became quite fond of some of the characters.

Loved Ozark, the Sinner, OA, Unabomber, The Code, Aquarius (starring the lovely David Duchovny), Heartland (the Waltons with horses), Continuum, Hatfields & McCoys (the greatest family feud in history!)
