The most traumatic bit was Stacey making a brew for Mad Maxamillion and putting the milk in before the boiling water. I can forgive a lot, but if that's how she makes a brew then Marrr'in really would be better off getting rid.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/12/2017 11:28

Ha ha Carey the poorly made tea.

I enjoyed those last 2 episodes. A good old fashioned miserable EE Christmas with a tragic end. I was gripped.

Poor Martin. He was so great when Stacey had her psychosis last Christmas, how he accepted Kush's baby and now this. It was good how he obviously didn't want to hear what Stacey had to say and kept offering her a bath instead!

And poor Josh somewhere in Scotland waiting for Lauren. No one has thought to contact the poor man.

I think Abi is brain dead but they'll save the baby and Lauren will pull through and adopt him/her.
Keeping a mother alive on machines to save the baby is quite a controversial topic and not been done on a soap before.

youarenotkiddingme · 27/12/2017 11:32

I also noticed super Sonja sweeping in and the dodgy tea making.
Then I though all that going on and you notice the milk! Glad I wasn't the only one!

I did like the scene with the ladies behind the bar in hallway.
Shirls comment about her men being wet lettuces (Tina's men that is) made me lol!

Chipstick10 · 27/12/2017 11:33

I always always put milk in before boiling water it stops any scum . Makes a smooth perfect cuppa . I also use two tea bags

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/12/2017 11:46

Controversial Chipstick Grin We call that Builder's tea in our house.

Forgot about SuperSon. It's not a medical emergency in EE if Son isn't calmly shouting out basic first aid instructions from the sidelines. "Don't move them, phone an ambulance, check pulse" and so on.
She's so cool and calm in a disaster.

BadHairDay0 · 27/12/2017 11:57

Absolutely loved the Christmas Day and Boxing Day episodes. I was totally gripped and loved the mixture of humour and gritty bleakness. Perfect, traditional EE Christmas.

MrsJayy · 27/12/2017 11:59

I think Son is phsycic how else would she be in the right place at the right time she just emerges when something tragic happens then slinks away again.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 27/12/2017 12:03

You should never ever put the milk in before the tea bag because
a) you can't control the the milkyness of the finished tea and
b) the tea bag has to mix with boiling water to brew correctly

I don't know why I'm bothered, I drink my tea black, or lesbian as Mick called it

The best moment was Billy brandishing a gun at Phil. Grin

nancy75 · 27/12/2017 12:16

I dont drink tea so the whole milk hoo ha passed me by!

Littlehenrylee · 27/12/2017 12:18

As a ten cups a day tea drinker, I noticed the way Stacey made the tea too. No! No! No! Smile

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/12/2017 12:23

I suspect Sonia has SuperSon Senses that tingle in the event of emergency. She's basically the fourth emergency service.
Everyone on the Square would be thrown into hysterical panic if she wasn't there patting people's arms and being all capable and reassuring.

The gun in the bacon crisps was weird. L's going to be mighty pissed off when she sees Mick's ripped the paper off everyone's presents. Grin

Redcrayons · 27/12/2017 12:41

Cant believe we've got to wait another day till we find if Lauren and/or Abi are dead. In fact they'll probably drag it out to the duff duff on Friday won't they?

Hmm at Max being arrested for GBH
I'd forgotten about Josh relocating to Glasgow on Christmas Eve.

Love Tanya
Poor Martin

Cracking Christmas episodes- back to the good old days of doom, gloom and screwing other people’s partners!

Although it’s no excuse for Stacey (and god knows what the attraction of the ginger one is) but I did feel their shag was consistent with the characterisation of both .... going back a couple of years, Stacey was at pains to keep telling martin she wasn’t good enough for him, she had a side to her that kicked against commitment and didn’t she say (eventually) she agreed to be his ‘not wife.’ So I think we’ve probably all guessed it was only a matter of time before she did the dirty on him. Shame that EE insists on nearly every female getting up the duff from a single shag though... Stacey has major mental health issues, has resisted being tied down and commitment yet has 3 kids already by 3 different fathers....

Wonder if Martin will ever cut and run, or just stick around as Stacey’s door mat?

Also can I echo the others- the couple of people on here who are giving spoilers: if you want to discuss spoilers you’ve read online with other like minded people, there’s another thread for that. This one is clearly titled NO spoilers. I’m sure many of us find the speculation on this thread usually far more exciting than what actually turns out to happen Smile so it’s irritating when people seem to want to bob up and prove they’ve read stuff on line. Honestly- we don’t need to know- we’d read it ourselves if we preferred knowing in advance

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/12/2017 13:18

Yes I think that will happen too Blondes with Abi.
Not sure who has the final decision on something like that? Next of kin I suppose? Perhaps Ian will want to adopt the baby or Tanya?

Quite scared of all your Grrr ing Grin.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/12/2017 13:20

I agree Babbity Love all the doom gloom and shagging!

qazxc · 27/12/2017 13:41

Sonya at that many emergencies, I've started to suspect she's causing them all. That way she can swoop in and be the hero.

BadHairDay0 · 27/12/2017 13:57

I reckon both girls are going to peg it, sadly. I think there'll be a frantic emergency op to save the baby, which will be kept in a baby unit for several months while the relatives fight over custody.

EnidButton · 27/12/2017 13:57

I like Abi. As a character she's really interesting and there's loads to explore there. A very good actor too, I was impressed with her when they did the live 'who killed Lucy' episode.

Lauren has been dull for ages and can't see where she'd go next. So out of the two I'd prefer it to be her I suppose.

Wonder if Tanya will stick around for a bit?

tobee · 27/12/2017 13:57

Anyone else already bored by the Aidan heist storyline? I know we haven't had anything like it for a while (or gangsters) but it's always exactly the same. If this is John Yorke then I don't feel optimistic for his (temporary?) tenure.

EnidButton · 27/12/2017 13:58

Sonia appearing suddenly made me laugh too.

tobee · 27/12/2017 13:59

Even Aidan's clothes and cane bore me.

Redcrayons · 27/12/2017 14:04

How pregnant is Abi? I know EE love a giant prem baby but she can't be more than 4/5 months.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/12/2017 14:06

If abbi has her baby I don’t think there will be a custody fight

Lauren and Ian aren’t interested as it’s stephens

Max can’t look after his self let alone a baby

So will go to TANYA

Unless

Simon wicks comes back. Was he ever interested in Stephen being his son? And does grandad duties
