He's adooorrrable !! I just want to pick him up and squeeze him! He's a beautiful child.

Poor Harvey, my heart really goes out to him. I like Peter and Katie, and this show gives an interesting insight into their lives. Harvey can see more and talk more than I realised.

Did anyone watch this on ITV2 last night?

Pete is amazing with Harvey, and it's so sweet that Harvey calls Pete Daddy. When Harvey had his scalding accident, and Pete was explaining that the medics had to strip away all the burnt skin, but because of all Harvey's other medical conditions they couldn't give him an anaesthetic.. oww, that poor boy.

I admire her chutzpah (think that's how it's spelt) and the way she gets on with her life in the face of ridicule.

she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously either

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 17:43

she's got chutzpah, i'll give you that. balls of steel. but she's so hard.

nannyj · 22/04/2007 17:43

She has made a lot of money and looks after her family well i think. She seems to be in a happy marriage and copes well with Harvey by the looks of things.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 17:45

In a way I can see what you mean Aitch(did I really say that? )but I seee it as her way of coping. i would say focussed rather than hard

swifterella · 22/04/2007 17:46

she is nails

i wouldnt mess with her

i think it is scary that she is being held up as an icon...on mumsnet as well

i thought we were all clever and middle class

DrNortherner · 22/04/2007 17:47

I have always quite likes Katie. However, it does bother me the way she parades Harvey and his SN in the media.

When he had his accident, she was hollering at the paperazzi outside the hospital about how sick it was to make money out of an ill child. Yet on her show he's groaning while she shows off his scars then giving him his meds on camera.

swifterella · 22/04/2007 17:47

good luck to her though

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 22/04/2007 17:57

zookeeper she was on thismorning I think it was just after her and peter got together, talking about Harvey and how she regretted the things she'd done during her pregnancy and how if she hadn't done the things she'd done he probably wouldn't have sn.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 18:03

If that's true i'm surprised - her consultant thinks otherwise

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 18:06

I think that was more the maternal guilt speaking than her quoting fact.

Plenty of medical experts came out at the time of Harvey's birth to say his medical problems were not related to her drinking during pregnancy and where is the evidence that she took drugs?

Leave the poor girl alone. I'm quite horrified by some of the comments on this thread, especially since Katie and Pete are personal friends of MABS.

vimfuego · 22/04/2007 18:55

She sells interviews about her private life (including intimate medical details about her children). She is fair game for critisism.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 19:07

i agree with Vim, StGeorge. we're allowed to talk about her, regardless of who knows her. MABS may know someone rather different to the one we see, but that's rather Jordan's fault given that she's the one hawking her personal life to anyone with a quid for a mag.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 19:10

I'm as entitled to my opinion as anyone else and I think some of the things posted are nasty.

pouchofdouglas is that who I think it is?

of course you're entitled to your opinion about this thread, stgeorge. what i think was unfair, though, was your suggestion that we shouldn't be talking about her just because a friend of hers posts on here. on a site with 50,000 members it's completely irrelevant.
i see Jordan and her family on my television all the time. i don't admire or even particularly respect her, regardless of how much money she has, so i'm allowed to voice my opinion.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 19:28

Oh FFS Aitch, I never said you couldn't.

I would stick up for a friend of yours too if I saw them getting slated and you had posted of your own personal experience with them.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 19:30

As I've said, I admire her because she doesn't care what people think - or if she does she hides it.

I do think that she's fair game for criticism though as she has placed herself in the public eye - the fact that she has a friend on mumsnet is neither here nor there.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 19:34

sorry, st g, if my friend was jordan and knowing the way people feel about her i don't think that this thread would represent the worst thing she's ever heard. i'm sure jordan's many millions comfort her from the fact that i don't think that she's a good female role model.

SaintGeorge · 22/04/2007 19:38

I agree, she isn't a great female role model.

That doesn't mean that there is a need for comments regarding her parenting skills or remarks on her son's health problems/relating them to her actions.

They were the sort of comments I was objecting to.

JoanCrawford · 22/04/2007 19:39

How anyone thinks she's a 'fantastic mother' is beyond me. She wants to spend a little more time with her two gorgeous babies and a little less time getting her tits out and starring in fly-on-the-wall documentaries.

Actually, I have no problem with what she does for a living. I get annoyed though when she drags the adorable Harvey in on her money-making. I find it quite sickening.

JoanCrawford · 22/04/2007 19:42

I dare say she couldn't give a flying fuck about a few nasty comments. Why would she?

She earns vast amounts of money showing intimate moments in her and her families life. She cannot expect not to be judged.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 20:01

aye well, stg, those comments were almost immediately rebuffed as innaccurate. by all sides of the debate, so i think it's just one of those 'public forum' things.
