He's adooorrrable !! I just want to pick him up and squeeze him! He's a beautiful child.

Poor Harvey, my heart really goes out to him. I like Peter and Katie, and this show gives an interesting insight into their lives. Harvey can see more and talk more than I realised.

Did anyone watch this on ITV2 last night?

Pete is amazing with Harvey, and it's so sweet that Harvey calls Pete Daddy. When Harvey had his scalding accident, and Pete was explaining that the medics had to strip away all the burnt skin, but because of all Harvey's other medical conditions they couldn't give him an anaesthetic.. oww, that poor boy.

But to expose her child to Pete Doherty and all his shady goings on has got to be questionable.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 12:57

of course. but jordan sells her body in the form of soft-core pornography. also highly questionable. we neither of us know what either of them are like as parents, that's my point.

MummyPenguin · 22/04/2007 12:57

Yes, but it is like this or that etc Aitch, recently there's been a lot of jumping down people's throats, and I'm not the only poster to have said so, a few people are getting fed up of it. I'm well aware of other people's opinions on subjects in general. As I said in my earlier post, it is a public forum and there will be vast differences in opinions and likes and dislikes.

'i'm not the only person who thinks it'.

are you ganging up on me, MP?

it's such a boring complaint, though. MN is a public forum, if you've got something to say, say it. if people disagree with you, suck it up. and disagree right back.

but don't start whinging about how you'd like the site to be different because you know what? we're each of us individuals and only in control of our own behaviour, if people agree with others it doesn't make them a gang...

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 13:03

sorry, your quote was 'i'm not the only poster who has said so', rather than what i wrote. my message nevertheless goes out to all people who find themselves whinging about this stuff. make a better case for your argument, if you have one, rather than moaning aobut the fact that people don't agree with you.

MummyPenguin · 22/04/2007 13:04

erm, I didn't think I was whinging... That's what I have been doing, expressing an opinion. Sometimes I'm fairly outspoken on here, and I always seem to have someone having a pop about something I've said. I'm not saying you especially, it just seems to be happening a lot, that's all. Some people have left because of it.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 13:10

i don't agree with it either, pinkcandy, to find out if she's a good mum we'd have to ask harvey and whatsisname in thirty years time, rahter than a group of journalists on a slow news day. and yes i think most of us are good mums, so in that sense i do agree.

wrt MP, i really enjoy the cut and thrust on here, i think it's a brilliant debating forum and it's one of the things that keeps my brain alive as i deal with dd and work. i would hate it if MN changed. as i say, if you make a good point on here there will always be those who support it. if we all agreed it would be hideous.

MummyPenguin · 22/04/2007 15:18

So, I'm not making any good points...?

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 15:38

well obviously i don't think so, particularly but there have been and will be those who will agree with you. i think that how someone 'comes across' in a ghost-written, subbed and edited book that is designed to support a brand that is now going to America is hardly indicative of a person's true personality.
in fact, knowing something of that world i'd be inclined to say that the publisher sat down with the ghost writer and said 'now, we want her to come across as normal and likeable, first and foremost. we need to address the fact that she is a soft core pornographer, but let's not make any excuses for it as that plays badly with her 'talk as i find' constituency. let's play up the unapologetic line, she does what she does in order to support her family and her SN child." etcetera etcetera etcetera...

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 15:41

I don't think the way she makes her living is questionable - she's obviously a shrewd businesswoman and seems to be a good mum and comes across as likeable - good luck to her

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 15:46

to me, she comes across as completely unlikeable. i thought on IACGMOOH she was deeply horrible, undermining kerry mcfadden on the trial while pretending to support her. she was, imo, sly and unpleasant on that show... can't understand how anyone can like her on the basis of her public persona. still, she makes loads of money off people prepared to buy mags with her family in (now that she's expanded out of wank mags) so it's horses for courses. and i think that the way she makes her living was and is completely questionable.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 15:51

I think a discussion on the pornography industry is a whole new thread - good luck to her

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 15:57

what? it's how she makes/made her living... she's not ashamed of it, is she? quite the opposite, as i understand it. so no need for a new thread, surely?

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 16:03

On the contrary, she's clearly very proud of it - I was just making the point that a debate on whether a career in pornography is "questionable" is a whole new thread.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 16:05

why, though? i really don't understand.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 16:09

it's just a turn of phrase Aitch - there will be a lot of views on pornography, hence the suggestion of a new thread. That's all.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 16:12

oh, right. gotcha.

hereiam · 22/04/2007 16:17

AitchTwoOh... you are a woman after my own heart....!
Lets get a grip here... Jordan - as she is known - who is now trying to transform herself into likeable Mum Katie... was and still is famous for getting her humungous tits out for money... fine, that's her choice.

But to now applaud her as 'Mum of the Year' or whatever for selling her soul for money is questionable. I think its fine when its just her, but she has two small children, one with SN, and to parade them in any, and all magazines that will pay her, is abhorrent.

Who can admire her for that?

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 22/04/2007 16:59

The only one I feel sorry for here is Harvey. After all, if his mother hadn?t drank quite so much and done quite so many drugs during her pregnancy he probably wouldn?t have sn at all.

There is nothing admirable about her at all. She does what so many others do, except that she does it with a considerably larger amount of cash behind her than most others do. Take away her money and her nannies and see if she?s still mummy of the year material then.

zookeeper · 22/04/2007 17:09

Her son's condition is not down to drink/drugs

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 17:16

zookeeper's right, wannabe. i don't even know if she does have nannies, i think the gran helps out a lot (as do many grans).

turquoise · 22/04/2007 17:25

I have no idea whether she's a good mother. Strikes me as odd that she flogs the poor little boy round OK etc for photo shoots on virtually a monthly basis, and am also somewhat as to who tips the press off every single time he has to go to hospital.

The porn side of things, and whether she is a feminist icon (christ on a bike) is my PARP subject so I will just PARP and retire.

nannyj · 22/04/2007 17:29

I think i've seen her say in articles that she has 2 nannies. She may be a bit in your face but i do admire her and she works hard with her family and her job. They seem a very happy family. Good luck to them i say.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 17:38

2 nannies? i thought i'd seen her say she didn't have any at all... maybe that's changed since Harvey's got a bit bigger, then?

seriously, what do you admire in her especially? genuine question.
