Rent isn't a big dance show...except for the big ballroom/Argentine tango number. And there's a lot of fast dancing in CCBB. So yes I'd say Joe's professional dance experience is just as extensive as Alexandra's.

The other thing that annoys me is the "poor Debbie's ballet training is as much handicap as advantage because the skills are so different she'll have to unlearn everything" when she was also a jobbing hoofer after she left Iran, picking up routines quickly in a variety of styles.

Mind you, judging from this video (not including TLDM) they weren't much cop. I reckon most celebs who'd made the quarter finals of Strictly would be in with a shot of a place.

Why wasn't Joe great straight away then? Or do you think he was putting it on and not trying, so he would have a "journey"?

@TimFromRuislip I wonder whether he held back a bit on purpose?! It's obvious he wants to get into musicals just like Danny Mac has. I don't know whether there's anything wrong with that, I'm just commenting!
Did anyone watch ITT? Zoe asked AJ and Mollie whether it was hard to pull off a love storyline in a dance- to much amusement from the couple - I think that they are together!

I can't decide if it's a showmance or the real thing... They do look like the ultimate glossy couple and are clearly very happy in each other's company...

I suspect it's a bit of a showmance. I can't believe if they are genuinely in the first throes of falling in love they would be too happy having it broadcast to the nation and commented on so obviously. In my many wasted hours time spent celeb watching, I think the genuine ones make an effort not to use their private lives to 'sell' their professional lives excepting 'reality tv types where their private life is their professional life.

I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest . They do look amazing together and I don't think the age gap is particularly weird (I think it seems worse because AJ looks so damn young!). But I really can't buy it because I am so sure AJ is not interested in women and in that case, it pisses me off that they seem to want to manipulate the voting public in that way.

I agree it's not so much the age gap as the pretending they are just two teenagers in love when they are both adults. Also the cringemaking comments from Claudia. And I love Claudia normally!

I tend to think that too. I'll be very surprised and not at all impressed if they ARE together and Tess and Claudia (not to mention the other dancers and slebs) have been embarrassing them all this time.

I had assumed that it wasn't true, that everyone on the show was aware of the media rumours and were winding up the media by playing up to it on the show.

I thought he was mean when he gave his DO decision and said one couple 'outshone' the other. No need for that. Just say who you're saving if you can't say something less mean.

The judges are required to give reasons for their decision these days, following a kerfuffle in a previous series. If you're preferring one couple over another, it's near-impossible not to appear to be critical of the one you've voting against.

I just found it really personal. Something about the phrase – I think it comes across as a value judgement/personal impression. Whereas e.g. 'a stronger technical performance' etc sound more professional and quantifiable.

There were definitely lightly veiled comments made by Tess (and sometimes the judges as well) on the show about Kara/Artem, Matt/Flavia, Kristyna/Joe and Brian/Ali. I can’t remember whether Claudia got involved on ITT.

I think there were loads of rumours with kara and artem in a similar way. It is getting so blatant now with how the other people are acting around them, the presenters and the other pros. I hope it is true, it is a bit of romance and at least they are both single!

I had forgotten all about these people who are mentioned above! Shows that, much as I love SCD, none of it sticks year on year! (Apart from Matt and Flavia having the "forgotten half the dance" moment!)

People are commenting on the Mollie/AJ age difference but wasn't there one with Matt and Flavia also?!
I do think it is in part due to AJ looking so young and innocent lol.
I personally think they look alike-Brother and sister!
Cannot see a relationship lasting if indeed they are involved with one another romantically.
