Harper. ..not cute and a geezer...just really inappropriate. Anyone else finding his aping of adult behaviours really icky?

I've just turned it on and while I haven't seen it yet, the synopsis on the planner did make me cringe. 'Harper, who already has several girlfriends, has his eye on new girl Ava.' Bit gross.

woodhill · 14/11/2017 20:14

Yes, I thought exactly the same.

crunchtime · 14/11/2017 20:17

Really red flag behaviour. I think his parents need to stop thinking it's wonderful and stomp on it.

At this age surely it comes from adults "have you got a girlfriend yet?"
So thinking its what they should do?

AmysTiara · 14/11/2017 20:19

No i don't like it when little boys are brought up like this.

woodhill · 14/11/2017 20:20

It sounded like his parents positively encouraged him and the people making the programme as well.

GreyCloudsToday · 14/11/2017 20:20

YANBU! I thought it was properly grim behaviour and surprised they just made fun of it.

Tomas and Ada though Star

crunchtime · 14/11/2017 20:28

His father was all " he's a ladies man like his dad"
Ick ick ick

I found it difficult to watch. Was surprised by Harpers parents views of how normal and cute this was.

cheesydoesit · 14/11/2017 20:34

Poor Rory. Sad

PurplePoppySeed · 14/11/2017 20:44

Both Harper and Vinnie Hmm

woodhill · 14/11/2017 20:45

It sounds like Harper has been coached by his parents and some of his comments are a bit odd for a 4 year old imo

wasMissD · 14/11/2017 20:48

They're horrible little boys! Harper's dad is a right tool!
Now Rory, I'm in love with Smile

MrsJamin · 14/11/2017 20:48

Was watching this, pretty horrified at the overly sexualised behaviour of these 4 year olds and knowing that MNers would be thinking the same! Who thinks this kind of behaviour is normal? Even my nearly-10-year-old knows he is too young for any of his friends to be seen as a girlfriend - its the kind of stupid behaviour that gets in the way of normal platonic friendships between boys and girls! Yuck. And Ick. I bet those boys parents say 'boys will be boys' too. Hmm

Afternooncatnap · 14/11/2017 20:48

Oh my god watching now and I'm shocked by Harper's behaviour. He forced a kiss on that little girl and was then agressive and possessive with her after Vinnie tried to play with her.
He clearly has very poor male role models to be behaving like this at such a young age.
In some cases little kids being in love is cute, but with him it's a bit weird like it's forceful and to obsessive.

Curiousgeorgey · 14/11/2017 20:52

Yes, was thinking it was very very strange behaviour for a 4 year old.

crunchtime · 14/11/2017 20:53

Yes I agree
"She broke my heart"
Really creepy.

And yes he and vinny . ..can you imagine that behaviour in a classroom with 28 other children?

OP posts:
woodhill · 14/11/2017 20:53

Yes Rory is a dear and I loved the girl with I want some space T shirt

MrsJamin · 14/11/2017 20:53

And people wonder how "Weinsteins" develop...

Afternooncatnap · 14/11/2017 20:57

Is Rory the Welsh boy. He is super cute. It was also lovely when the little girl said seeing him sad made her sad so she had to cheer him up.

bookworm14 · 14/11/2017 21:05

Just watching on 4+1. Revolting sexualisation of a tiny child - what are his parents thinking?

RiseToday · 14/11/2017 21:07

Really awful/weird/inappropriate behaviour from Harper. Missed the beginning so didn't see the Dad, but I can imagine what he's like Hmm

dontcallmelen · 14/11/2017 21:15

I’m so glad not the only one thinking this, was uncomfortable viewing especially when he forced the little girl to kiss him, awful.

MrsJamin · 14/11/2017 21:15

Similar comments on twitter too, so its not just us. Hope his parents are reading this! How does his dad treat his mum and other women, I wonder?

Muddlingalongalone · 14/11/2017 21:20

Watching on +1 - on the fence with the parents being to blame - Harper seems incredibly aware - pointing out someone else putting arms around etc but as the owner of a now 6 year old who has been telling me for 2 years about her "boyfriend" - 100% not encouraged by me. They are going to get married, live together and she's going to change her name.
In fact I spend most of time asking if he knows/says the same/checking not stalking - it's not always the parents!!!
