I am. I thought the film version was very good so not sure how it will compare.

Braceface · 12/11/2017 21:13

Not got into it yet.

Never read book or seen film. Totally lost as to who’s who and half woman look the same.

dairyfarmerswife · 12/11/2017 21:19

I don't know it either, but I love a period drama. It's got to do a bit more to grip me yet though.

Finding it hard to take Tracey Ullman seriously and surely she is far too tanned??

Braceface · 12/11/2017 21:20

Can't stand Tracy Ullman which is putting me off.

Trailedanderror · 12/11/2017 21:24

They do all look very similar!

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/11/2017 21:24

I keep expecting her to break into her Angela Merkel impersonation!

Strange to see Julia Ormond playing the family matriarch as I remember her being touted as the Next Big Thing in the 90s with Sabrina and Legends of the Fall.

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 12/11/2017 21:25

its dire

fgs bbc get your act together

tracey ullman - whyyyy. she's hardly a decent actress.grrrr.

SaigonSaigon · 12/11/2017 21:26

Turned over now. Couldn't tap into it. It wasn't flowing - really hard editing. Nope. Sorry BBC1.

Braceface · 12/11/2017 21:26

It's not very good is it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/11/2017 21:27

Ugh, the creepy paedo kid from the last series of Black Mirror is Tibby Confused

LouiseBrooks · 12/11/2017 21:27

I can't help thinking of the film but It looks beautiful and I want that house!

Julia Ormond as Mrs Wilcox - I remember when she was the new young thing and now she's all matronly!

BurnTheBlackSuit · 12/11/2017 21:28

I thought I might like it, but I think I am suffering from not knowing the story and I can't get it at all. Women look the same, everyone is mumbling and the music is too loud (and I'm not that old!). I am lost and bored as a result.

BBC seem to have forgotten that some people haven't seen the film or read the book.

Nice scenery though.

Terrylene · 12/11/2017 21:28

She really isn't very good at all.

Akire · 12/11/2017 21:28

GAve up 10m ago. Who the hell is who And why is one of them obsessed over the Wilcox’s? Are they supposed be neighbours, family or in laws?

Braceface · 12/11/2017 21:29

Queen that sounds disturbing!

OP posts:
FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 12/11/2017 21:29

It’s shite. Turned off now.

Tibby was doing my titties in 😂

Terrylene · 12/11/2017 21:30

Tracey ullman, that is. Surely there are plenty older actual actresses around.

justforthisthread101 · 12/11/2017 21:30

It’s utterly incomprehensible. And I’ve read the book!

PortiaCastis · 12/11/2017 21:30

The beethoven has been the best bit so far

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/11/2017 21:31

Leonard Bast looks about 15!

SamanthaBrique · 12/11/2017 21:33

Rather random appearance from some Japanese ladies in kimonos there!

OstentatiousWanking · 12/11/2017 21:33

I'm quite enjoying it. Not families with the book at all.

LevelHeading · 12/11/2017 21:34

I can't tell who is who and haven't read the book/seen the film.

Who are the Wilcox family in relation to the other family?

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 12/11/2017 21:34

lol its so bad its funny

was that some traffic bollards i spied earlier?
