Ah of course! I have jumped ahead to 2018 in my head already! So silly. Usually I write the wrong year until March and this year I’ve completely jumped ahead.

I think Stacey cares a lot for Max. She loved him at one time. And he was Bradley’s Dad. She saw him self harming too I think. And he cares for her. Didn’t he leave money or a big turkey or something for her last year when they had money problems?

So what has Max been doing for money since he's been out of jail? And where does he live even? I thought he would be on a salary not a final installment. If Weyland were clever then they would have screwed him over once the pub was vacated not before its done and dusted.

Had some sort salary. Imagine £350k was third of the pub or something as bonus. He’s not been short of cash has he. Though not actual got a car or anything out of it.

Max has nothing. When jack finds out he told Charlie to take Matthew and Abi finds out he killed Steven he really will be alone. Stacey might be his only ally. Maybe. He isn’t mr popular that’s for sure.

I doubt the writers have thought logically about how Max gets paid but as he had an office he’d have got a salary? In RL anyone in his position would now go to H.R and thrash out some payout or get himself reinstated but this is EE where Max will now be ostracised and penniless over the festive period before magically getting another job soon and drinking in the Vic by January as if nothing happened.

I think JWB referred to it as being Max's first commission as well as mentioning pay check so I think he had a salary but was also offered the carrot of commission cheques at various stages of the take over. This is the first commission paycheque rather than first pay cheque at all.

They must be writing Max out, surely? I can't see how he would come back from this. The take over plot, yes, he could possibly redeem himself by saving the Square but the fire and stuff with Jane plus Carmel is surely irredeemable.

Oh had forgot about killing Steven and trying kill Jane.

If Jane does come back to the soap, Max is even more doo doo!! At this rate, Ian will team up with Phil and co as well to avenge his wife and his mum. Max has made heaps of enemies. His own girls will disown him too. What a way to live, all for 350k and a nice flat ( for revenge too I suppose..) Ian and Jane should never have let him take the rap for killing Lucy.

I'm not sure if we'll have new head Bobby back without Jayne? Not sure how that will pan out. Ian never mentions him (or Jayne for that matter!)

It's strangely irritating how Sonia is always on hand in a medical emergency. She was in the toilet when Kim gave birth to Pearl and now this. Anyway poor Kim looked stricken. I like her character.

I agree, I can’t see how Max can stay in the square - unless there is a massive disaster & single handedly rescues every single resident from a fate worth than death.

He can lift buses Nancy so that could be possible.

He’ll make amends somehow- perhaps blackmailing JWB with insider knowledge about dodgy dealings at Weyland and saying he’ll go to the police if JWB doesn’t give the Carters their £50k and leasehold back. I didn’t think there was a way back for Alfie and the fire he started but it was forgotten about quickly.

Where will the carters start again with £50k? That might be a deposit on a pub in the outer hebredies but it won’t get them much in E London!

I know I say it all the time but I really love Kim, she’s really underused on EE

If the paperwork for the cafe didn’t turn up how has the sale been completed? Ian is super careful with money, he wouldn’t have just signed it away
