Can't see a new thread??

OP posts:
NancyDonahue · 21/10/2017 21:30

I absolutely love Susan. Beautiful inside and out. Adore watching her enjoying the process.

I really like Gemma. She's blossoming. I'd love to see her win.

Debbie is wonderful to watch. What a figure! I'm a lot younger and she makes me feel frumpy.

Why do they always make Ruth look silly? She's a lovely looking lady. The bouffant hairstyles don't suit her.

I don't really like any of the male celebs this year.

Redcrayons · 21/10/2017 21:45

Dementedma - grown arms and legs Grin. I worked with a project manager who described our go live date as D-Day to our German customer. Awkward.

People who proper dance knowledge, I have a question. In a proper competition, do the dancers know what music will be playing before they start? I mean when they're all dancing at the same time rather than solo stuff, obviously.

SoupDragon · 21/10/2017 21:56

I don't think Jonnie was being twattish, he did literally have a spring because of the blade. I think he was making a joke but Shirley thought she'd "said something wrong again".

SoupDragon · 21/10/2017 21:57

I voted Jonnie, Debbie and Joe.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/10/2017 22:00

it's much more enjoyable without Bruno.

Amen to that Kiwi

TheOneWithThePurpleWrapper · 21/10/2017 22:01

it's much more enjoyable without Bruno

I agree

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/10/2017 22:04

Johnny is presumably used to making quips about his leg, poor Shirl was mortified. Think it was just a misjudged clash.

Agree - TBH, I think Johnny was trying to make light of it and get her laughing rather than pulling her up on it.

MudCity · 21/10/2017 22:16

Debbie is a joy to watch. Agree with Nancy - she has an amazing figure. I actually tune in just to watch her.

bonfireheart · 21/10/2017 22:41

Anyone who has seen Jonnie on shows such as the Last Leg will understand his humour.

Auburn2001 · 21/10/2017 22:47

Susan is great fun to watch. I didn’t miss Bruno.
Simon is this year’s Ed Balls IMO.

bonfireheart · 21/10/2017 22:48

Looking forward to Susan & Kevin doing a ballroom dance soon hopefully.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/10/2017 22:50

Simon doesn't have the personality that Ed Balls

bonfireheart · 21/10/2017 22:57

Highest points of the night should have gone to Anton just for that suit!

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2017 23:00

I didn't get the Ed Balls love last year, I just found him cringey. But he definitely threw himself into it and wouldn't have given an excuse for not doing swivel etc.

CeeBeeBee · 21/10/2017 23:20

Rimmer really shouldn't be in for another week. His technique is just not there and he's so dull.

Davood was much better this week than previous weeks but his dance reminded me of Colin Jackson's jive. A bit floppy at times and not quite crisp enough. I hope he's not in the dance off again as he is improving, slowly.

Liked Joe this week but a bit Hmm about his 10 from Shirley.

Johnny' quick step was very good too.

Debbie's rumba was very sincere and touching. I thought Giovanni was very sweet and restrained with her this week.

Disappointed with AB's samba but thought scoring was low over the one issue. Loved Gorka as always. He moves so beautifully whatever dance he's doing.

Gemma's foxtrot was very good too but she looked as if she hated every minute of it. I'm not really keen on her as a celebrity. She's a bit like Louise from last year - famous for being one of the sexiest females in FHM but mediocre career in some form of entertainment.

Much better dance from
Mollie this week as well. No lifts for a change and glad of it too.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 21/10/2017 23:27

Susan is clearly the Ed Balls: deeply implausible as a dancer, well aware that this is a ludicrous pursuit, but loving every minute and working her size 3 socks off.

bonfireheart · 21/10/2017 23:31

Monkseal' summary
monkseal.wordpress.com/2017/10/21/strictly-come-dancing-15-week-5-performance/amp/

If I'd watched it live my votes would have gone to Gemma, Aston & Debbie.

Ceto · 21/10/2017 23:45

I wish someone could get it into AJ's head that he doesn't actually have to choreograph everything at double speed.

OneInAMillionYou · 22/10/2017 00:08

The scoreboard drives me potty when there are ties. Arithmetically the final no of points from the judges should total the number of dancers from say 12 to 1. That is, 12 + 11 + 10 and so on.
So, if there are three people getting, say, 10 marks because they tied, the next person down after the tied group should only get 7, not 9.

Grrr, I probably haven't explained it very well but could do better with a white board!

Because the public votes could never result in a tie (it would be a phenomenon if 12,734 votes were cast for two dancers, for example, the proper method would ensure an even weighting between the two components of judges and public.

Rant over.

I think Brian and Simon deserve to be in the dance off and not fussed which of them goes.

Debbie should win, she is fantastic and I cannot stand Alexandra and the favouritism she is receiving in the weekly running order. Her Latin dances all seem to be variations on disco/Jamaican dance hall!

bonfireheart · 22/10/2017 00:26

All the three new female pros have been disappointing.
Alexandra's dancing is becoming samey samey now. She needs to do a slow ballroom next. Also yes the favouritism irks now.
Giovanni & Debbie have an amazing connection. He let her have all the attention tonight & I would love them to win. Gemma would be a worthy winner too. Everyone else seems to have bored me this evening- except Anton!

dalek · 22/10/2017 00:39

Not getting the Debbie love at all - thought her rhumba was awkward and stilted. And too fast and she stumbled a couple of times.

Aston is brilliant, as is Alexandra. Gemma is getting better and better. Loved Joe tonight. Mollie and AJ were good - once again not getting the AJ hate - is he this this year's KFG on MN?

Loved the campuses of Anton and Ruth - just made me smile.

Time for Simon to I think.

dalek · 22/10/2017 00:39

campness - bloody autocorrect

Bejazzled · 22/10/2017 00:44

Gemma, Susan and Debbie for me tonight although Aston was great too.

I just can't seem to warm to Johnny or AB.

Featherstep · 22/10/2017 01:04

Redcrayons In competitions you always know what dance is coming up but not the specific piece of music. So you know it's going to be a waltz, but not what song. The tempo of the music is regulated though no matter what it is.

Featherstep · 22/10/2017 01:09

I adored Joe and Katya's paso. He's really good and quite likeable but I'm afraid he's going to be lost in the middle and get voted out soon Sad
Debbie's was lovely despite the wobbliness and lack of hip movement.
Gemma and Aston did really well too.
Simon REALLY needs to go home now that the standards are up and he's completely out of his league. I wouldn't be sorry to see Ruth and Brian go either.
